The care provided has been excellent and all of the staff across the board are so kind and attentive.
It really helps knowing that Mum is being so well looked after as I know that the management, nursing staff, carers, caterers and housekeeping are all working together to provide a very high standard
of care.
It is such a homely environment and not clinical at all, making it a lovely place for Mum to stay. Relatives and friends of Mum have commented on how fantastic the home is as the staff are so welcoming and friendly, plus Mum is looking well cared for.
The cleanliness of the care home is outstanding and I would say that rooms and all areas are cleaned to a very high hotel standard.
Any urgent medical issues have been dealt with in a very professional manner.
The daily activities always look fun and cater for every level of participant.
Reply from Jill King, Manager at Clarkston HouseThank you so much for your kind words, I will pass on your comments to the whole team - feedback like this means so much to us! I'm really pleased to hear that you're happy with how mum is being cared for, and that all of her guests have been made to feel welcome.

The staff are always available and very friendly and make you welcome from as soon as you arrive and especially the staff member on reception.
The rooms are of high standard and all areas for visitors to use are always clean and tidy.
I believe that my mother in law is getting good care and we have
no issues with anything.

I work for Marie Curie as a volunteer and visit a client whom is more than a client but good friend too and pleased he is settling into his new environment. It's absolutely beautiful and the staff are so nice too.
On my first visit, I was welcomed by a beautiful friendly smile at reception by a member
of staff. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the home was so impressive and knew the family had chosen the right location for my client and on first impressions, the staff member ticked all boxes for me and the care home are so lucky to have her there representing the company. I visit my client every Friday and if truth be told, look forward to my wee cuppa, which I always get and have a good blether with my client and the staff member too. Anyway, I take this opportunity to thank all staff for their courtesy shown and sign off by saying, you are all superstars and contribute greatly in giving the patients great happiness and joy at this stage of their lives.
Thank you so much on their behalf.
Reply from Jill King, Manager at Clarkston HouseThank you for your kind words, I'm so pleased to hear that your friend has settled in well and that you've had a warm welcome when you've visited. I'll pass on your thanks to all of the staff, it really means a lot to the whole team.

Clarkston House is a fabulous facility with an amazing team staff. They have a very low turnover of carers, everybody is incredibly friendly and caring and the environment is premium, clean and well maintained. I would have no hesitation in recommending this facility to anyone with a family member suffering
from dementia.

Clarkston House is everything I hoped it would be and more for my mum. Yes it's stunning to look at, but the staff are what make it the happy home it is.
The staff here are exceptional professionals and people. I find them to be knowledgeable, thorough and nurturing. They have been supportive of me
too. It's not easy seeing your mum decline. They get that and put an arm round you too.
In such a short time, care home staff have gotten to know my mum exceptionally well. They have created a thoughtful and insightful care plan that addresses my mums needs and beyond.
My mum is someone who always taken great pride in her appearance. The staff in Clarkston House have her turned out immaculately. It's lovely to see her looking so well.

The facilities at Clarkston House are clean, bright and of a high standard, and there are lots of great activities, but what makes it really special is the exceptional staff. My dad received incredible care from the most compassionate, patient and lovely team there. The kindness shown to my family by
the staff at Clarkston House felt like a lifeline at the most difficult time.

Mum has been in Clarkston House for 6 months. She settled very quickly thanks to all the staff. Special mention to 4 staff in particular in reception. To be honest, everyone has been great, mum has been given great care which is a comfort to us. Mum loves her clothes, lipstick and personal care, everyone
has made an effort in keeping her beautiful. Thank you.

There are all the natural concerns when your relative goes into care. I feel so blessed to have chosen Clarkston House. I have no concerns and the staff clearly are devoted to their job. It is evident that my mum and her needs are known and more importantly she is loved.
The staff go out their way
to reassure you and event's like birthdays are so special. It feels like a family and can't explain how important that is.
I can't recommend Clarkston House enough.

My mum has been at Clarkston House for just under a year. Prior to this she was living in a retirement home and was often anxious and distressed in her surroundings. She has settled in well at Clarkston House, enjoys the companionship of the carers and other residents, and seems to be very well looked
after.

I can't really express how impressed I am with Clarkston House. The facilities are amazing but don't let that blind you. The best thing about Clarkston House isn't the building, it's the people that work there. They are all fantastic and I'm so impressed with the level of care that they are providing
to my Mum. Care homes are not all the same and the standard at Clarkston House is far superior to the other Care Homes I have visited.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.874)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.874) out of 10 for Clarkston House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.874 for Clarkston House is calculated as follows: ( (347 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 388 Ratings = 4.874
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clarkston House is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
