When visiting this Care Home I was welcomed via cheerful staff. They showed me around and then lead me to my friend. She was enjoying an activity.
Lovely surroundings, like a 5 star hotel.
She enjoyed a lovely meal restaurant standard! While I was there and as it was a lovely day we seat by the
window in the afternoon enjoyed the warm sunshine and watched the birds and squirrels in the grounds.
Beautiful place and great atmosphere.

I stayed at Dorking Manor Care Home for two weeks of respite care and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome, comfortable, and well looked after. The staff were amazing throughout my stay, so kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. Nothing felt like too much trouble,
and their friendly approach made a real difference to how settled and relaxed I felt. I also really appreciated the company. As someone who lives on my own, it was lovely to have people around and to feel part of a warm, supportive environment. One of the highlights of my stay was the amazing spa bath experience, which I found incredibly relaxing. It felt like a real treat, and it really helped me unwind and feel thoroughly pampered and refreshed.
Overall, I'm very grateful for the care and kindness I received and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dorking Manor to anyone considering a stay.

My mum recently spent two weeks in respite care at Dorking Manor Care Home and it was such a positive experience for her. From the moment she arrived, she felt comfortable and at ease thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The facilities and décor throughout the home are truly beautiful and thoughtfully
designed, spotlessly clean, and inviting, which made her stay even more pleasant. The staff were exceptional, always attentive, kind, and patient, making sure she was well looked after at all times. My mum particularly enjoyed participating in the various activities organised throughout her stay, which offered her both stimulation and enjoyment. Overall, the care home provided excellent support, and my mum left feeling refreshed and happy. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home for anyone considering respite care for their loved ones.

I was lucky enough to spend a 3 week respite stay at Dorking Manor. It is a lovely care home, beautifully appointed with a homely yet swanky feel about it. All staff that I encountered were kind, friendly and very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I immediately felt at home and
happy there. The food was superb, plentiful and there was excellent choice. I particularly like the spa bathroom and my family and friends who visited loved the bistro and the cinema room. Would happily return for future respite.

When we came to look around, we were taken aback by the place, beautifully decorated, clean and not what I was expecting from a care home. The staff have made us all feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The room is light and airy with a wonderful en suite and verandah overlooking the gardens.
We feel lucky to have found the place. Thanks to all!

Mum had a lovely respite stay at Dorking Manor, she really felt like she had a little holiday. My mum is a very poor eater but she reported that the food "was out of this world". She enjoyed the activities, especially the exercise sessions. Her care was amazing, she always looked immaculate, as did
her surroundings. Staff were always gentle and smiley in their approach. She returned home more engaged and stronger.

My son and I decided after over a year of caring for my husband with dementia that we needed a break. A fortunate accident led us to approaching Dorking Manor Care Home. Their very friendly reception of us alongside the attractive buidling and surroundings and obvious care of the residents by the
working staff, led us to booking a 2 week respite break. My husband seemed very content there and the staff showed great patience coping with his nightime incontinence.

The Home readily agreed to extending his stay by a further week when I became unwell. After the three weeks in the Home we brought him back to the family home and he seems to have settled back here very easily. His memory is virtually non-existent but the few comments he has made suggests he was quite happy to be in the Home. We hope to make use of the Home for further respite breaks.

Reply from Lesley Loizou, Regional Community Relations Lead at Dorking Manor Care HomeDear Anne, It was a very happy mistake for us too, we thoroughly enjoyed taking care of your husband whilst you and your son took a well earned break, he was a delight to care for. Since my mother-in-law became a resident at Dorking Manor, they have provided excellent service and care, and consequently she adjusted quickly to her new normal. The staff are amazing, and always keep me informed of her day to day. They are always friendly and available if I need to speak to them.
The home is spotless, and the food they provide, and various entertainments are first class. I am greatly impressed with their friendly and professional approach to all aspects of my mother-in-law's care.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.877)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.877) out of 10 for Dorking Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.877 for Dorking Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (292 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 332 Ratings = 4.877
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dorking Manor Care Home is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
