I have been to several care homes as a visitor and found them to be adequate. However, having visited Dorking Manor 3 times I felt confident ot come here for respite. I have not been disappointed. I have enjoyed my stay here. When I came from hospital I felt weak, had not much appetite & had to rely on a wheelchair to get around. Now, almost at the end of my stay; I am earing at every meal, exploring the garden and the encouragement the staff have given me have given me independence again. I can not praise them enough. They always have a smile. A great place, care & comfort.

I was very nervous about coming for 2 weeks respite care but I have found the whole experience very enjoyable. All the staff are warm and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The meals are very good and the Bistro and outside area are lovely places to take visitors to have tea/coffee/cake/biscuits. Sometimes I preferred to have my meals in my room but generally I joined the other residents in the dining room. I didn't have many opportunities to join in activities because I often had visitors then, but the ones I did, I enjoyed.

I had a serious injury to my left which was placed in a plaster cast. This prevented me from returning home as I couldn't negotiate all the steps in my house. The care home manager visited and gave me a very thorough briefing. The home managed to offer me a room for 2 weeks. The home is absolutely impressive. So clean and well designed with amazing staff from the manager to the lovely carers who treated me with respect and care. I was so lucky to be there. I was given a room which opened out to the gardens and was close to the lounge. The air conditioning was a blessing. The home is like a top hotel!

Wonderful place that really is dad's home. His personalised room with his own things and some of his favourite plants in the garden, along with wonderful staff has made Dorking Manor his home. It is located in a beautiful building and has extensive gardens. Staff are very caring and see residents as individuals making an effort to really know them. Its a lovely environment for families and friends to visit especially with the private dining room to entertain other visitors in. Staff keep me well informed of dads health. Dad is safe and cared for well which is so reassuring.

Reply from Roy Booth, Customer Relations Manager at Dorking Manor Care Home

What a lovely thing to read, thank you. Your dad has made this home so much his own and it's a real joy to see him settled and surrounded by what he loves. Getting to know him properly as the individual he is and keeping you reassured about how he's keeping matters to us every bit as much as it does to you, so it means the world that it feels that way to you.

When visiting this Care Home I was welcomed via cheerful staff. They showed me around and then lead me to my friend. She was enjoying an activity.
Lovely surroundings, like a 5 star hotel.
She enjoyed a lovely meal restaurant standard! While I was there and as it was a lovely day we seat by the window in the afternoon enjoyed the warm sunshine and watched the birds and squirrels in the grounds.

Beautiful place and great atmosphere.

I stayed at Dorking Manor Care Home for two weeks of respite care and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome, comfortable, and well looked after. The staff were amazing throughout my stay, so kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and their friendly approach made a real difference to how settled and relaxed I felt. I also really appreciated the company. As someone who lives on my own, it was lovely to have people around and to feel part of a warm, supportive environment. One of the highlights of my stay was the amazing spa bath experience, which I found incredibly relaxing. It felt like a real treat, and it really helped me unwind and feel thoroughly pampered and refreshed.

Overall, I'm very grateful for the care and kindness I received and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dorking Manor to anyone considering a stay.

My mum recently spent two weeks in respite care at Dorking Manor Care Home and it was such a positive experience for her. From the moment she arrived, she felt comfortable and at ease thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The facilities and décor throughout the home are truly beautiful and thoughtfully designed, spotlessly clean, and inviting, which made her stay even more pleasant. The staff were exceptional, always attentive, kind, and patient, making sure she was well looked after at all times. My mum particularly enjoyed participating in the various activities organised throughout her stay, which offered her both stimulation and enjoyment. Overall, the care home provided excellent support, and my mum left feeling refreshed and happy. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home for anyone considering respite care for their loved ones.

I was lucky enough to spend a 3 week respite stay at Dorking Manor. It is a lovely care home, beautifully appointed with a homely yet swanky feel about it. All staff that I encountered were kind, friendly and very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I immediately felt at home and happy there. The food was superb, plentiful and there was excellent choice. I particularly like the spa bathroom and my family and friends who visited loved the bistro and the cinema room. Would happily return for future respite.
