Sunflower House provides residential and nursing care to adults with learning disabilities, autism and/or complex health needs.
There is a team of qualified nursing staff on site, around the clock, to provide medical support to residents who need higher levels of care.
They also employ a Social Worker who provides a high quality service in relation to all aspects of the assessment and care management process.

Sunflower House is a large, detached home set in its own grounds with well maintained and accessible gardens. There are 7 single bedrooms which are decorated to each individuals taste.
Communal areas include bathrooms, a lounge, dining areas and a conservatory. There is also a sensory room which is separate from the main house.

The home is located within a vibrant community with the Trafford Centre less than 5 miles away, housing one of the country’s largest under-cover shopping outlets, with cafes, restaurants, cinema, and bowling all with disabled access.
The lovely countryside of Lymm and Dunham Massey Hall, Cheshire is within easy travelling distance, as are Sale Water Park, Walton Hall Gardens, Tatton Park, the Chill Factor, Manchester International Airport, Old Trafford Football Ground and the Museum of Science and Industry.

Christine Highfield

Buttercup Lodge and Sunflower House are led by Christine Highfield, an experienced and passionate Registered Manager who began her career in care in 2001. Christine started as a carer, supporting individuals with both physical and mental health needs, and has since built a strong foundation across a wide range of services including residential care homes, day centres, step down support and sheltered accommodation.
Over the years, Christine progressed into leadership roles, becoming a service lead and developing a reputation for her commitment to high quality, person-centred care. In March 2025, she joined Mysa Care as the Registered Manager of Buttercup Lodge and Sunflower House.
Christine has a particular passion for care planning, taking the time to really get to know the people we support and ensuring their care is tailored to their individual needs. Her approach is compassionate, knowledgeable and focused on helping individuals live meaningful and independent lives.
