Whenever I visit my brother, I am so relieved that he is in a caring, supportive environment, and basically, secure from his former environment where he was in contact with people in his locality who preyed upon him for his pocket money, etc. I find the staff so friendly, they chat and love to have him in their care. The staff know and understand his problems, and support him. A lot of the Covid pandemic precautions are loosened now but on visiting, the utmost care is taken with the precautions at Edendale, we show our tests taken on arrival and wear a mask. The residents have all had their jabs, and I was asked if I would permit his jabs, of course, I said yes! My brother is in a beautiful spacious en-suite room, and it's kept clean and tidy. I thought there couldn't be a better place for him. Above all, he is happy there and doesn't want to be anywhere else.

My mother had been discharged from the hospital after a fall in the home she used to live in. She arrived at Edendale confused and very frail. The transformation is nothing short of miraculous. All the staff have been exceptional in their welcome and care of my mother. She is bright and has her twinkle back in her eyes. We are so lucky to be able to relax in the knowledge that my mother is receiving the correct level of care and is comfortable and happy. Edendale is situated in a quiet oasis of the beautiful English countryside, and the sound of the birds singing brings a smile to all of our faces whenever we are there. The food looks and smells delicious. My mother is now eating again and looks forward to each mouth-watering meal. Communication from all staff is friendly, clear and professional. We would have no hesitation in recommending Edendale to others. Thank you to the manager and all of your staff for welcoming my mother into your beautiful home.

My mum has lived at Edendale for over four years now, and the care she receives is exemplary. The staff are all wonderful, lead by a fabulous management team. I was terrified that Mum would hate it, but from day one, she felt at home, and I haven't had a moments worry about her since. I would, and frequently do, recommend Edendale Lodge to anyone who needs a safe and loving home for an elderly relative.

What an incredible place this is. My dad has dementia and has never been happy in a home. He also was stuck in hospital for 2 months during lockdown. He has been there 4 months and he has completely changed. They have been patient and treated him like a human being. He is now happier than he has ever been and I get regular messages from the manager keeping me up to date with his progress. I would recommend this place to anyone.

My elderly dad lived at Edendale for nearly 2 years, when circumstances changed and I could no longer look after him at home. During all that time, I was always 100% confident that he was receiving the best possible care to meet his needs, both physically and emotionally. All the staff were friendly to him and to me and my family when we visited, and were always greeted with "tea or coffee"! Dad wasn't a great mixer and didn't want to sit in the lounge with the other residents and staff respected this and willingly served his meals in his room and popped in, more than necessary, for a chat. During Covid restrictions, Whatsapp chats were arranged and messages always passed on to him when I rang to let him know, although I couldn't visit him, I hadn't forgotten him. Sadly, my dad passed away last month, completely unrelated to the coronavirus, and I say a big thank you to all the staff who looked after him so well during his time with them. I miss my dad but the lovely staff too.

Edendale Lodge staff always welcomed me with a friendly hello when I arrived to see my grandad. We could even take our dog in to see him, which he loved. The care he received whilst there, I couldn't fault. We, as a family, knew all his needs were met to a high standard and all staff treated him well. He always commented on how good the food was and liked fish and chip Friday. He passed away recently, aged 91 but we would recommend this home to anyone looking for a home for a loved one. Thank you for all you did for my grandad.

I have found that the care that my mother receives especially during this Covid-19 pandemic is exemplary. Although I have not been able to visit my mother due to the lockdown requirements my telephone calls to the home have been dealt with politely and efficiently with staff providing me with answers to all my questions. I am extremely grateful for the care and affection that the staff has shown to my mother and I send my heartfelt gratitude to them all.

I have one comment to make about the home: I have noticed the ever-deteriorating poor condition of the entrance driveway to the home and the parking/turning area at the front of the home that is littered with large and deep potholes often filled with filthy water. It is no exaggeration to say that smaller low travelling cars have difficulty in entering and negotiating the site. I have a large 4x4 and even that lurches violently when entering. Immediate and urgent repairs should be carried out asap.

My mother is well looked after by all the staff. I believe she is popular with the staff and I know they provide the care that she needs and that we could not provide at home. My mother is very complimentary about the food. Thank you.

All the Management and staff have been very kind and understanding since my Dad came here. Dad has been treated with dignity and respect and gained friendship from his personal careers who have tried above and beyond to help him settle into a new routine and environment which was very challenging for him. The staff always make us feel welcome and are friendly when we visit.

I would like to thank you all.

The manager and staff have had a hard job to bring Edendale Lodge up to standard and they have done an excellent job. It's homely and my friend is happy and feels its home. He is not the easiest to look after but they all make him feel at home. His dementia has got steadily worse.

We have found this care home to be excellent in terms of care, cleanliness, staff and management. The activities could be improved and it would be wonderful if a minibus was available to take residents out on day trips - even just to the sea/shops. Food is okay but could be improved and more varied.
