Thank everyone for your help and support, each member of staff without exception especially Weller house they all did their best to make me feel welcome and they had a cheery disposition all the time, even though when the pressure was on they all worked together like a well oiled machine. I would recommend
anyone to leave their loved ones in the staffs very capable hands.
Best wishes and god bless you all.

On arriving at Woodbury House made most welcome. The manager showed me around the house and all the facilities, excellent. I spoke to all of the staff and found them most welcoming. I was there the time my brother arrived from hospital, the staff most courteous and respectful. I was invited to stay
to lunch, excellent food. My impression was it was like a first class hotel. Your truly with loving care.

Madeira Lodge has been my husband's home for 19 months. He took a couple of weeks to settle in, but I'm pleased to say he seems happy enough. The carers are amazing and although they are challenged daily, they always have a smile for their residents and a loving touch.
They now have a new manager,
and she is doing a grand job. Such a lovely person.

My father in law was cared for with the utmost respect and dignity. He was treated like an intelligent, independent, worldly individual. The staff showed expertise, professionalism, kindness and expressed a genuine interest in both my father in law and us, his family. We will be forever grateful in
enabling us to have respite, which is absolutely essential to families knowing he was safe and cared for. Haslington Lodge and the staff have become an extended family.

This is the second time we have used Wombell Hall care home. My mother and now my aunt have both been looked after with care and friendly staff. The rooms and lounge are always clean and tidy. Both my mother and Aunt have never complained about the food.

I find myself writing another excellent review for this care home. My dad had an unfortunate accident 10 weeks ago where he injured his arm. The staff at the hospital said that due to his age and having type 2 diabetes his arm would take a very long time to heal or may never heal. I am so pleased to
say that after the excellent care that dad has received to his arm it is nearly now completely healed. The expert care shown by all of the staff especially Arnold who has mainly been responsible for the changing of the dressing etc leaves me in no doubt to the reason for this successful outcome. Arnold is also so knowledgeable regarding dad's type 2 diabetes which I am very pleased to say is now under control now which is such a relief to me. His patience and kindness with everyone there is so special. All of the staff at Pickwick House from the domestic staff, the excellent carers and management are a great team whose main priorities are the people living there. Thank you all

Staff are friendly, kind and compassionate. They are a real asset to the care home.
The environment is clean and warm.
My mother receives good personal care.
Communication is excellent. My concerns are dealt with promptly and I am kept well informed of my mother's care.
Meals are freshly cooked
on site by an excellent cook.
Friends and family are welcomed anytime and many events such as BBQ's are organised throughout the year.
Introduction of some chair based physical activities such as chair yoga , music and movement or parachute and ball game would be beneficial to some residents.
All in all an excellent care home.

I can't comment on food or drink as Jean is peg fed. Jean has been treated with good care whilst being here. She has no bed sores or redness as the carers & nurses turn her regularly. She has had no infections around her peg site or any blockages. Her care has been excellent.

My Mother in Law is cared for at Wombwell Hall. She was recently moved to the care home from another facility. Since the move she has settled amazingly well. Care staff are amazingly welcoming and are exceptional at what they do. We feel her care is well above the standard from the previous location.
My Mother in Law in included and regularly moved to the lounge area to spend time in the company of other residents. There is a really comprehensive programme of activities lead by Mollie and her team. These activities, not only focused to residents but to families and visitors too. The small touches like laying dining tables with flowers and glasses, easter eggs for residents, birthday celebrations and much more make all the difference to residents. Staff go above and beyond to make this a community rather than a facility. Highly recommended to anyone who has to make the difficult decision for a loved one to enter care.

My dear 92 year old Mum who has Alzhiemers and many other medical/care needs has been in Weller House since Sept 2025. She was put into care in Weller House after a fall & hospital stay of 8 weeks & shortly after loosing her husband of 67 years, who was her main Carer. So this move was most upsetting
and very confusing for her.
From the moment my Mum arrived at Weller House the Care, support and empathy that my Mum received was and always has been outstanding. This is not a plush Care Home but all rooms are clean & do not smell. My mums clothes are laundered. There is a hairdresser & chiropodist linked to Weller House, as well as a very fun, young and caring activities team, who are totally inclusive, whether the resident is in their room or in a communal area. Weller House staff are consistent, keep routines and are friendly but professional and totally approachable. They care about my mum and our family too. They are an exceptional group of staff and I cannot Thank them enough.....

Lovely staff who are very helpful, patient and kind but disgusted with the up keep of the lift.
My mother has been there for 2 years now and it is constantly breaking down and causing myself and my mother a lot of stress as I can't take her out when it's broke and has been breaking down every week
lately, when it's broke it take 2 weeks to fix then a week later it's broke again.
I took my mother out a few weeks ago and the lift broke before we returned and so my 80 year old mother had to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the top, since then I have not taken her out as it's still broke again and again.
I normally take my mother out at least twice a week and not been able to do this recently as it is breaking more often and constantly broke.
Apart from this she likes it there as the staff are very nice.
Also she never goes out with the home, only in the summer they go to bingo once a week . So this is all left down to myself.

My mum is cared for extremely well.
They take into account her special needs and welfare.
Recently loosing dad every one at Edendale have gone over and beyond with mums care and needs.
They were the same when dad was in their care.
It's like being home from home there.
My MIL is also at Edendale
Lodge and she has dementia. The look after her so well and give her all the care she needs.
Nothing is too much trouble.
They all are so kind and understanding.
Thank you Edendale Lodge for your kindness, caring attitude to all the residents and you as a staff towards each other.
I can't thank you all enough.

My Dad with Dementia was transferred to Haslington lodge from another home not having any choice but I have been pleased with the care & he seemed to settle very quickly & seems a lot happier in his new home. I am a bit of a people watcher & good at reading body language & ive only witnessed
tutting & signing coming from one carer, but they were still gentle & it wasnt aimed at my Dad.I dont get to visit very offen as quite far away from me but when i do he always looks clean & dressed appropriately. I used to speak to my dad very offen on the phone & found it quite frustrating trying to get through but now he not capable of holding a phone conversation so that problem no longer exists. In his last home I was constantly being asked for new clothes & slippers but Haslington seem to have a more competent housekeeping so dont get asked to supply anything since his transfer. Over all im very pleased & can sleep at night knowing Dad is in good hands x

We cannot really fault the home at all. All of the staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. They are immediately in contact if mum has a problem or if we have concerns. They are very patient with our mum and encourage her to get involved as much as they can. She's safe, well fed and
