Very pleasant and caring staff who go out of their way to ensure that residents adapt and fit in quickly to the homely environment. Nothing seems too much trouble, a far cry from the care homes of 20 years ago that my parents spent time in.

Halmer Court is a very welcoming Care Home, from reception in the Bistro through to carers and all staff. The standards of care are excellent and residents needs are always complied with. The building and residents rooms are very clean, bright and comfortably furnished. Food is excellent at all meals,
nourishing and nicely presented.

A warm, easy going, welcome from everyone at Halmer Court from first stepping through the door. Mum has been given time and space to do her own thing whilst on a respite stay, and Dad's visits are welcomed with equal care.

This is the second time my wife has been in Glenholme Halmer Court for respite and I can honestly say my experience has been extremely positive and better than my original expectations. Every time myself or a friend visited her, she was awake and alert at all times. The staff were very upbeat and attentive
with all residents, and the atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxed.
It was clear that the staff were fully briefed and aware of the information provided in the "This is me" booklet. If an enquiry is made as to why they had done this or why she sat separate to everyone else; no offense was taken and an accurate answer was provided from the source, not "third-hand" as from previous experience.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with how my wife was cared for. The quality of the staff and care provided exceeds what I can provide at home! My wife will definitely be going back again. Not only to give me a break, but she also comes out with a much more alert and engaging manner. Thanks.

Felt very welcomed by staff, my mum seems really happy and that is the most important part. Beautifully clean and tidy. My mum's a bit fussy with her food and they are very accommodating with her food. She denies she's got a sweet tooth but she’s always eating one of their cakes!

My nan moved into Halmer Court a couple of months ago because she couldn’t cope at home any more. The move to Halmer Court went incredibly smoothly. The staff were helpful and kind throughout the moving-in period and made what could have been a very tough time for my nan a nice and relaxing experience.

The staff are lovely. Very caring and compassionate. The facilities rival that of a nice hotel. I’m really glad my auntie is here because I know she’s being genuinely cared for. When I come to visit she’s always smiling and joking with the staff. They’ve become like family to her.

Unfortunately my Mothers stay was only 7 months but during that time the Staff treated the whole family with respect and compassion. The facilities are excellent and the management team lay on events on a regular basis.
I highly recommend this home.

My wife has been in the care home since August 2022. I have found the staff to be extremely caring. They all have a great understanding of her condition (dementia) and treat her with care, dignity and respect. The home is newly built. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and have an ensuite wet room.
There is a shower seat provided. A number of activities have taken place and I have been able to join my wife at a summer BBQ, coffee morning and a concert by a choir.

Mum only had just under three weeks at Glenholme Halmer Court which was such a delight, she had dementia. Everything was first class, from the top to the bottom the staff were great. The last care Mum had was wonderful and also gave us, as the family, the support which we needed. Many thanks to all
the team, great care home and great staff.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.459)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.459) out of 10 for Halmer Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.821 for Halmer Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (88 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.821
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.638 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Halmer Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.2 = 0.738
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
