Thimbleby Court Care Home

Had there been communication from room to management, would have been excellent.

Laundry needs to be more organised, missing many items, bras, trousers, flannels (when my room number is in labels.)

The care and attention shown to my husband has been really wonderful and so so kind and caring. We have been together since 1961 and all this has been very hard, but the staff have been wonderful, not only to my husband but me too. I have been overwhelmed at times but staff have noticed and looked after me. My husband says he feels safe, warm and comfortable, which is very important and he has a lovely room.

I have been visiting my friend since November 2025 and have always been welcomed with a smile and a good morning from all the staff, reception to cleaners. The care home always looks welcoming and inviting and it is nice to sit in the bistro bar or outside with a tea or a coffee. The events they put on are very organised and entertaining. It's nice that my friend can go to the beauty salon for pampering.

A dear friend of 30 years standing with no close family, spent his last 3 months at Thimbleby Court. Whilst his health issues prevented him from taking part in many activities, whilst visiting him I was very impressed with what was on offer. At all times he was treated with kindness and respect, as I was also when visiting him.

Excellent smiley staff, all very helpful and friendly. Visitors were also treated kindly with teas coffees and cakes.

Very grateful that my husband and myself were able to have rooms with you so quickly and smoothly. Most of the care was very good and professional which was most appreciated. There were a few problems but these were generally sorted out. There were times when the staffing levels were inadequate and this put a strain on the carers and had a knock on affect on the residents. Generally I am very pleased with the care I had.

I spent two weeks in respite at Thimbley Court, accompanying my wife, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's four years earlier. My aim was to familiarize her with the care home, so that, should I no longer feel able to care for her or simply need a short time away from our apartment, there would be a place she is happy to go to. This hope was realised, as she felt she was very well looked after, especially during the three days I spent away visiting my sister. Staff were very friendly and supportive, always ready to give time to individuals' needs, whatever the pressures on them. My only reservation was the eating arrangements: while I appreciate the problems of serving assorted residents with a variety of disabilities, meals in the dining room were often a fairly tedious experience, with staff simultaneously serving us and sorting out food for those who were bedridden. Some managed this better than others. Overall, a positive experience, and my thanks to all who looked after us.

Cant fault it because everyone is so helpful and surroundings are very clean and comfatable.

What a wonderful place! Full of amazing staff who genuinely care for all their residents often going over and above to provide the best home from home experience. I have nothing other than praise for this care home and would definitely recommend it.

Overall I enjoyed my 4 weeks in Thimbleby Court. I will be happy to return. The staff were always helpful, supportive and friendly. Sometimes there appeared to be a shortage of food at breakfast. The food was adequate. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable.

I always find the staff to be cheerful, polite and very helpful. Dad seems to be as happy as could be expected. Thank you.

Very comforting to know that my father-in-law is safe and well looked after and has all the comforts - a home from home. Always has company and plenty to entertain him.

My father has been a resident of Thimbleby Court for 2 years now, being a purpose built home, the facilities and safety are excellent. My dad is always treated respectfully and has built good relations with the staff, who are always welcoming to family and appear happy in their work. Visits are usually fun, filled with much laughter, especially during the regular activities and events held at Thimbleby Court.

Mum has been welcomed with open arms, nothing has been too much trouble, and we all as a family have been made to feel very welcome. The surroundings, rooms and different areas are beautiful and the staff are wonderful. Mum is certainly very happy.

At 102 and partially sighted, my mother still wanted independence (in her own home). Thank goodness that she was persuaded to go to Thimbleby Court initially for 2 weeks and shortly afterwards on a permanent basis. It helped that everywhere looked clean and spacious, including her comfortable room, and later that her own possessions, including pictures and even her electric reclining chair, made the room more homely. There are so many positives, the staff were all caring and helpful, facilities are excellent and the whole place is purpose-built. An unexpected plus was for my 2 giant breed dogs (loved by mum) to be welcomed into the home. In the last 3 weeks mum has been on palliative care and all the staff, especially nursing staff, were excellent, treating her with tenderness and dignity. The whole family have expressed genuine gratitude for the way mum has been treated. We thoroughly recommend Thimbleby Court.

I came for two weeks and enjoyed my stay. The food is lovely, the staff very helpful. Nice room. Everything very good. I would come again.

As Mum has been a resident for several months, following a difficult time at home, she is now very happy in her new home. Mum enjoys the food, and enjoys the rapport she has with the staff. She tells me they are very kind and good to her and she doesn't want to live on her own again. This has made the family's decision to place her in a care facility a much easier one.

We have the utmost confidence in the ethos and the team at Thimbleby Court.
