Humberston Care Home is brand new 72 bedroom two-storey haven in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, offering residential, respite and dementia care.

The home features spacious and bright bedrooms, each with private en-suite wet-room facilities, a bistro, a cinema, a hair and beauty salon, landscaped gardens, a wellness room, a tea room, a library and spacious lounge and dining areas.

Care is personalised to each resident's unique needs and wishes. There is a diverse programme of social activities for residents to take part in as they choose and the kitchen team provide delicious homemade meals, with dietary requirements catered for.

My mother started her stay at Humberston House in December 2023. She was initially there for respite but we soon realised she would struggle to go home and be safe as her mobility is so poor, she is now staying as a full-time resident. The staff have been absolutely amazing with her transition; as she
hasn’t found it easy accepting that she needs looking after, but with their kindness and support she has slowly started to settle in. The home is purpose-built and considering it’s a new build and a completely new business it has had very few issues. The home has fantastic facilities including a bar, cinema room, hair and nail salon and a great and varied array of activities. The ground floor rooms have access to a small patio to enable the residents to have flowers and an outdoor sitting area. It’s going to be stunning when all the landscaping is finished. The staff are always welcoming and I would definitely recommend it to any family considering care as it really is home from home.

My mum has recently moved into Humberston House, and I can only say how kind and caring all the staff are. When visiting her, we are made to feel very welcome in such a friendly environment. The facilities available are excellent. Mum has enjoyed having her hair and nails done at the beauty salon and
doing gentle chair exercises in the lounge with other residents.
Overall, I feel so content that she is being so well looked after in beautiful surroundings that feel more like a hotel, and although, at 94, she is quite an independent lady, there are staff available immediately should she need them. It’s such a pleasure to visit her and see her looking so well.

In 2024, Humberston House Care Home proudly welcomed Claire Stainton as its new Home Manager. Claire transitioned to Humberston from a sister home within the Tanglewood Care Homes group, following a well-deserved promotion. With a wealth of experience in the care sector and a proactive, results-driven approach, Claire has quickly become an invaluable addition to the Humberston team.


The team at Humberston House is excited to support Claire as she brings her expertise and enthusiasm to guide the home into an exciting new chapter of growth and development.

'I have been employed in the care industry for around 30 years in both acute and non-acute settings. As such, exposure to multiple clinical specialities has enabled me to develop a diverse range of organisational and managerial skills.


My background covers Learning disability, Care of the Elderly, and Forensic Nursing in both Residential and Nursing Care settings as well as 7 years in training and development.


As an NVQ coordinator, I implemented a framework for NVQs in Care across three Counties and standardised training. I spent 8 years managing Care settings for adults with a learning disability before diversifying into self-employment. I spent 7 years as Co-Owner and Manager of a successful guest house in Filey with my husband before relocating to Grimsby and was proud to say it was number one on Trip Advisor for the last 4 years.


My guilty pleasure is travelling and cruising every year and spending time with my grown-up children.
I am really looking forward to the opportunity at Humberston House to build a wonderful community for our residents and their loved ones.'
