Overall Experience
My mother and father needed immediate respite, Hyllden Heights even though far from home and very daunting for them, was a great experience! From Day 1 the team were so welcoming and immediately the deputy manager wanted to understand their different needs so that they could get them settled in as soon as possible, she went over and above to ensure that was the case.
The communication was great as they kept my sister and I updated. When I visited they engaged with me as if I was their resident and I also felt at home there and welcomed always.
Even though hard for my mother and father to get used to a different routine, place and not being at home, they met so many wonderful carers, enjoyed the daily activities and the different facilities for example: the onsite hair salon.
Leaving after three weeks they were sad to leave as they had made friends and loved the warmth from the whole team.

We would definitely choose Hyllden Heights again based on their experience.

I stayed at Hyllden Heights for 2 weeks, whilst recovering from major surgery, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The facilities and cleanliness throughout were very good, and all of the staff were very caring, friendly and professional. It was very reassuring to see that there was always a good level of staff on hand and there was never a delay in response when I requested assistance. I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely care home.

The staff at Hyllden Heights welcomed my mum with open arms. It was a huge move for her logistically which, with thanks to the caring staff, was made so much easier.
Mum has told me how very happy she is and I therefore couldn’t be happier with my choice of care home.

It’s not an easy decision to make moving a loved one into residential care but I’m so glad I chose Hyllden Heights and so is Mum. Best move. Thank you all.

My aunt has been a resident since August this year. After looking around several homes locally this was by far the best choice. The staff are friendly and approachable and most of all always smiling which goes a long way. The care and attention given to residents is perfect. The staff check with the family regularly to make sure we are happy with everything. Very good value for money.

From the moment Mum moved into Hyllden Heights she felt at home. It was reassuring knowing Mum was safe in the hands of professional and courteous carers. The homely surroundings, sensitive decor and friendly staff all helped create a welcoming environment. Can't thank the staff enough for supporting not only Mum but ourselves during an immensely emotional time. Thank you.

We moved our parents to Hyllden Heights in early autumn from another nearby care home and wish we had found it sooner. An inspirational management team with senior nursing backgrounds lead a caring, compassionate staff, many of whom have worked together previously. It is a cohesive team of nurses, carers and support staff who have heart. They are open and welcoming to residents and their families. Dementia care is hard to staff because it is so demanding. It requires continuity of care from a constant team of committed, permanent staff, fully aware of the details of care plans and able to relate to those losing their faculties and sense of self with sensitivity and respect for each individual. Our father’s care was all we hoped for in his final months from just such committed nurses and carers and afforded him dignity and utmost respect through his final months and end-of-life care. Thank you Hyllden Heights for your exemplary care of our father and ongoing care of our mother.

I'm feeling very reassured and happy with the way Mum and Dad are being cared for. The atmosphere is very happy and friendly and now look forward to visiting. They both look content and staff regularly come to take Dad to the toilet without being asked which tells me it's done regularly.

We are absolutely delighted with the care my mother receives at Hyllden Heights. She has flourished with their kind, warm and loving, professional care. The stimulation her brain is receiving from all the charming staff has meant her conversation and concentration has improved dramatically since she moved there two months ago. She is happy, laughing and smiling, whenever we visit. The nursing care is second to none and minor, intelligent adjustments to her medication have resulted in her being much less tired and much more interested in life. I cannot recommend the care home too highly. Excellent value for money too. I only wish I could mention all the staff by name as they are all upbeat, patient and wonderful with both my mother and all our family and friends who visit. Truly exceptional!

I was very pleasantly surprised when I first walked into Hyllden Heights. the reception area was tastefully decorated and the staff very welcoming. It gave the impression of a five star hotel rather than a care home and later having looked around the building. I thought the facilities were excellent staff have always been very happy and the coffee area near reception ensure a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere when visiting. I can't recommend Hyllden Heights more highly.

Although I have been an acute trauma and orthopaedic nurse of 47 years in the RAF and NHS, I made the voluntary transition into the care sector seven years ago following a short career break when my father became unwell. This has been a very rewarding career move, resulting in me taking on the General Manager role at Hyllden Heights in March 2025. Our assurance to you is that the team at Hyllden Heights will always put the resident central to everything we do. Our ethos and core values are care, standards, respect and mindfulness, but more than anything, we are family.

Claudiu LuceanJob Title:Care Services ManagerJoined: 2024

I joined Oakland Care in October 2019 at our Lambwood Heights Care Home in Chigwell and have since gone from strength to strength. I have over seven years of experience working in the Social Care sector, previously as a Paramedic Nurse in my home country of Romania. I am passionate about working in Social Care as it allows me to ensure our residents are safe, and cared for and all their care and clinical needs are met. I also enjoy the interaction with our residents and relatives on a daily basis. I am passionate about my work as I can help people in need to live a happy, safe and independent life where everyone is treated individually, and their quality of life is maintained. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, and football, socialising, visiting new places and discovering new cultures around the world.

I am delighted to have joined the Oakland Care family as Senior Client Relations Manager for Hyllden Heights. My experience in the role goes back 11 years now, including the commissioning of a new care home. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than assisting families to explore full-time care options, whilst sharing insights during what is often a stressful time for them. Outside of work, my biggest passion has always been travel, which hopefully will become easier again in the fullness of time!

After working in retail for six and a half years to ensure I was around to raise my two girls, it was time to change and start a new career for myself. I moved to the care sector, and in the few short weeks I have been here, I realise maybe I should have moved a lot sooner, as this, apart from having my girls, is probably the most rewarding thing I've done. Ensuring the residents have a smile on their faces makes my day. When I joined Oakland Care, I was instantly welcomed into the family, and I love coming to work every day. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and going on holidays.
