My mum came to Kings Manor Care Home just before Christmas 2019. Mum was one of the first residents at Kings Manor Care Home. Mum has just passed away and the care she received during her last days and throughout her time at Kings Manor was exceptional. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking
for first-class care. Mum's carer gave Mum care beyond anything we could have wished for!

Kings Manor have looked after my mother for 2 years because she needed more care than we could give her as a family and had worsening dementia. We wanted to know she was safe. The environment Mum lived in was happy and homely with an exceptional standard of care and Mum was always treated with dignity.
The nursing care that she received before passing away was also excellent.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the home as a place of care.

My mother in law who suffered from dementia was placed on end of life care following a heart attack at the end of July. Due to her need for 24 hour nursing care she was transferred from hospital to Kings Manor Care Home. The home itself is wonderful as are all the staff. My mother in law received excellent
care and she was very happy during the nine weeks she was cared for. We as a family cannot thank you enough.

My mum is so happy in Kings Manor that she tells me every time I come to visit. The staff are so caring and friendly and Mum has made firm relationships with both staff and residents. The activities are amazing and I would name the organiser for special mention if I could.
I am full of gratitude for
both management and care staff's handling of the whole pandemic, for keeping Mum safe and for welcoming us all in when it was safe to do so. Bless you all.

My mother and father required residential care at short notice as a result of my mother falling and breaking her hip and my father's dementia. The managers and staff at Kings Manor have provided very high-quality care and support to both with calm professionalism and sensitively delivered compassion.
My mother has recovered and is now living independently but my father has decided to make Kings Manor his permanent home.

My dad arrived at Kings Manor in a rather weak state for respite after a hospital visit. Right from the start, he described Kings Manor as a 'luxury hotel'! After 24-hour care and attention and excellent food, he has come on leaps and bounds. He has made new friends, and to our surprise, decided to
stay! The staff are very approachable, friendly, caring. There's a beautiful garden and a lovely peaceful environment. Thank you. It's a pleasure to visit him to see him so happy.

Mum is well cared for and treated with affection. Staff seem genuinely interested in her wellbeing and in her as a person. Information about her past life likes and dislikes is welcomed and noted. I feel welcomed and appreciated as a visiting relative and staff are unfailingly polite. Short of being
able to remain in her own home I feel that mum is in the best place she could be.

My father has only been here a little more than a week and I was well informed of what to expect and that is is a learning curve on all sides.
Everyone is very approachable and happy to help with all the questions and information transfer at this early stage. I feel very comfortable with the decision
to bring my father here. The only difficult time I was aware of was when they were short-staffed though someone was off ill at a weekend.
Reply from Sabrina Waterhouse, Community Liaison CoOrdinator at Kings Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your review. We are so delighted that you are happy with your decision to bring your father into our care. We really enjoy having him in the home with us here. Thank you again, Sabrina

We are very happy with the care and attention that our father is receiving at King's Manor. In particular, the pleasing and commendable staff who no matter what their job or role, have the time and willingness to talk with and more importantly, listen to him at a time when he is feeling anxious and

After an extensive search for a suitable nursing home for Dad, we have been so fortunate to find Kings Manor. It has given us peace of mind to know that he's in a beautiful home (which looks and feels like a 5* hotel) with staff who are wonderful, so caring, friendly and professional. Nursing care is
24/7. His room has a fantastic outlook, is spacious, has its own wet room and it is wheelchair friendly too. Corridors are wide, tastefully decorated and visitors are welcome at any time. Dad has settled in with the help of all the team. He is treated with dignity and humour but also the team look after the immediate family too. Activities are well planned and varied. The food is tailored to Dad's needs and he looks forward to mealtimes! The bistro provides us with a place to chat and relax and there's even a playroom for younger visitors. Thank you Kings Manor for taking such good care of Dad.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.096)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.096) out of 10 for Kings Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.387 for Kings Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (51 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (8 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 155 Ratings = 4.387
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.709 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kings Manor Care Home is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.909
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
