He urgently needed to go into a care-ful home but needed somewhere that was completely sympathetic not only to his mental problems but also his need for quiet solitude, respect and old fashioned courtesy. He could not have gone anywhere else as excellent. I am hugely grateful.

Over the past few months, my dad has started to settle into life at Mearns View. He suffers from Parkinson's Dementia, and requires nursing care at the care home, including 1:1 personal care, assistance at mealtimes and help with his mobility.
There are some incredible carers at Mearns View - and my dad has built strong relationships with the superstars that shine in their passionate, professional team. Management are a breath of fresh air, welcoming feedback and always making sure my dad is happy, comfortable and enjoying his experience at the home.
As with everything, there were some niggles to begin with - but we've got to know the team and they've gone above and beyond to get to know my dad and his daily routine.
Overall, the home is bright and contemporary, clean and has an array of facilities on offer, including a hair/beauty salon, cafe, lounges and cinema room. The gardens are also well maintained, and lovely to walk around when the sun is shining.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, your review is a perfect illustration of how our relationship has evolved and developed , and working together to achieve the best life for Dad . Your kindness and consideration for all the team is appreciated , we will continue to listen and value your ideas , as to how we can improve , never forgetting that Dad is at the centre of everything we do

The entire team continue to go above and beyond to build positive relationships with the residents and their families, which has been a huge help and has made the emotional situation and major life change a little easier.
After some initial niggles, Mearns View have got to know my husband and have encouraged feedback to ensure he has the best possible experience. He likes to keep himself to himself, eating with assistance in his room, but management continue to share ideas and look into 1:1 activities to ensure he's stimulated. And let's not forget some of the phenomenal carers who are real superstars.
My husband is always very clean, well presented and enjoys great vegetarian meals thanks to the home's amazing chef. And his modern, en suite room has everything he could ask for.
Thank you so much for the lovely Feedback , i will make sure your review is shared with all the team . You all have become such an integral part of Mearns View Community , it is an absolute pleasure having the opportunity to support your husband , and we will continue to work with you all to achieve the best possible outcomes for him

Mearns View is a welcoming care home which caters for residents with a variety of needs. Management and care staff work hard to form positive relationships with residents and their families to ensure care is of a high standard. Regular meetings with residents and families to identify strengths and areas for development to be built on/addressed are held which are effective in listening to different opinions and suggestions. Facilities are well designed to make residents feel at home, e.g. each room is en suite, all floors have small dining rooms and lounges. Communal spaces are also available such as the cafe, hairdresser and garden where residents can meet and interact in larger numbers. Food and drink is varied and available at all times, catering for residents' needs and tastes. My Mum is settled in Mearns View with carers who make sure her needs are met. Their genuine care and support for her, and us as her family, is much appreciated.
Thank you for your lovely comments , we are delighted to see Mum is settled and you are happy with the Support she receives . A special thank you to you for always giving constructive feedback and being willing to be involved in our engagement plans

My Mum moved into this care home in April 2025. Since then, her dementia has worsened, involving full incontinence. The carers have been unfailingly respectful and kind towards her, they have been super-attentive, too, and her room and bathroom are always clean. The home always contacts me when she has a fall, or any small incident, and they've accompanied her to hospital too. The other areas like the garden cafe and lounge, are always immaculate. Recently they helped us give Mum a small party for her 84th. I feel that my Mum is being properly cared for by friendly, caring staff.
Dear Lesley , Thank you for taking the time to give us your Feedback , i have passed it onto staff. I am delighted that you are happy with Mum's care and support and feel that Mearns View provides a friendly and sociable environment

My elderly mother has been a resident in Mearns View since November 2024. My mother needs some help and support with most daily activities, and she can be quite unsteady in her mobility. We have been very impressed from the outset with the fabulous care my mother has received. The environment is homely and comfortable, and the decor is of a very high standard. What stands out, though, is the staff. The staff deliver a high standard of care (and I recognise my mother can be difficult). They are patient, kind and caring - we could not ask for more.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback , we are delighted that you happy with mums care and support , and will continue to support Mum to live her best life at Mearns View

I also can't speak highly enough of the staff and all the girls who organise the activities. I joined the folks yesterday for chair zumba and reflexology and actually felt like a load had been lifted off my shoulders - I can only imagine how good the folks felt. Wondering maybe if I should just move in too!?
Anyway, I've just left the folks having joined them for coffee at a karaoke sing-a-long this morning - what a beautiful energy in the room. Everyone's spirits were so high and it looked like Mum and Dad had made quite a few new friends. We were definitely hogging the mic at times though so I apologise for what I thought were harmonies. I'm removing Islands in the Stream from my karaoke repertoire, the staff will be glad to know.
