My sister has been well looked after and cared for.We took a lot of time to find the Manor but it has paid off .
The obvious advantage is the quality of the staff really outsstanding.I live some considerable distance from my sister but communication is good and effective. They are quick to spot issues
and quick to help.It is very important because of distance for my sister to be in a place she is cared for and supported.Five stars for the Manor!

Our mum was in The Manor care home for the last year and a half of her life, and was very happy there. We spent a lot of time trying to find a care home that we felt would work for her and we were delighted that The Manor worked perfectly. This was largely down to the truly amazing staff who were professional,
compassionate and patient, going the extra mile to make sure our mum was well cared for. Thank you all so much!

We are sorry for your loss, and we are pleased that your mother received the care that met your standards while she was staying with us. Your comments will be passed on to the team.

The Manor staff put on an excellent Christmas breakfast buffet for residents and their family. The staff made an extra effort to ensure that the residents felt special on Christmas Day and the atmosphere in the home was warm and welcoming. Many thanks to all staff.

All staff are friendly and attentive. They know my friend and her needs and understand her condition. Food and drink are plentiful as well as appetising. The home has adapted Loraine's bed to suit her evolving needs. 6 month reviews are clear and supportive. Communication about recent flu outbreak (which
seems to be well contained) was clear and offer of PPE reassuring.

My aunt loves the care home. The staff treat her with respect and are friendly and kind. I know she feels safe. The food is lovely and there is a wife choice, it is healthy and tasty. Her room is always kept clean and she has a lovely view of the grounds. The activities could be better but my aunt is
encouraged to take part in those available which I know she enjoys.

My mother was a slowly slipping away during August and died peacefully on 3 Sept. The care and attention she received was exemplary. She moved into The Manor in October 2022 and she always said she was very happy there and enjoyed trips to botanic gardens, Livingstone shopping centre, canal trips and
more. She found, as did her family, the attention and care of the staff from wellbeing, housekeeping, hospitality, carer, nurses and administration staff to be excellent and friendly and loving. Thank you. We always recommend The Manor to friends and acquaintences - we had a very good experience.

Very good care. Excellent welcome. Mum has very poor vision and needs staff to assist at mealtimes. But often staff dont know what the food is and how to point out what food is where on the plate - long lasting issue. Please ensure fluid intake monitored consistently Everything else is excellent.

My dear Mum lived at the Manor for the last 9 months of her life. I have been so impressed by the friendliness, care, compassion and communication of each and every member of staff. Despite my Mum's limited mobility and medical conditions, she was made very comfortable and as pain-free as she has been
in a number of years during her time there. The facility is immaculate throughout and has a high level of decoration and facilities available. She had a lovely view over the playing fields which she often commented on. The communication when any issues arise was as regular as required and I could tell that my Mum developed real friendship bonds with many of the staff and care team. The empathy, compassion and dignity with which she was treated in her final days were second to none and very much appreciated by myself and my family!

My mum lived at The Manor for the last 22 months of her life. The ethos of the home shines through as one of trying to give residents a homely environment whilst attending to any extra caring and nursing needs. The staff exude kindness, professionalism, humour and intelligence, being attentive to the
residents and the relatives, listening carefully to both, and always welcoming visitors openheartedly. When/if there were minor difficulties, they were dealt with politely and speedily. The building manages to be spacious, and also cosy, its numerous social areas being used for daily activities, ensuring that residents have opportunities to continue some of their interests in life. In contrast, the en suite bedrooms offer comfortable private space, with staff popping in regularly to meet any needs, or to just be friendly and say hello. I want to thank staff for helping Mum, family members and me, navigate the last part of my mum's life with such professionalism, tenderness and love.

We, the family, have been very happy with the care given to our mum. The staff are all very helpful and very kind. We have been notified if there has been a problem, no matter how small which we appreciate. The range of activities on offer is fantastic and I'm sure Mum benefits from them. Mum is happy
that her room looks on to the garden, and often mentions it. The Manor is a very welcoming place to visit and nothing is a problem to the staff.

Since my mum has come to stay in The Manor, she has begun to settle in. My mum responds very well with staff and they also relate well with her. Although my mum is not yet taking part in activities, I believe this will come in time. My mum is well cared for at The Manor and when I leave my mum I feel
comfortable leaving her and know she is safe and settling bit by bit every day. The Manor is clean, the food is good and the staff appear to be happy in their jobs, all of which are important factors to run a great nursing home.
Reply from Akbar Mir, Home Manager at The ManorThank you for taking the time to leave us a review Mhairi. It’s great to hear that your mum is settling in well and it’s to be expected that it will take a bit of time to fully settle into her new home. Please feel free to get in touch with me if there is anything else we can do to help your mum settle in.

I stayed in The Manor for 9 days following orthopaedic surgery, hoping to help the recovery process without the stress of domestic matters. The care I received was second to none. The care and nursing staff were exceptionally kind and willing to help. Their attitude was positive and cheerful. I doubt
I could have coped at home three days after surgery whereas at the home, help was available by pressing a button. I would have no hesitations in recommending The Manor for respite, convalescence or residence.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.550)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.550) out of 10 for The Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.754 for The Manor is calculated as follows: ( (134 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 4.754
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.796 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Manor is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.8 = 0.946
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
