We, the family, have been very happy with the care given to our mum. The staff are all very helpful and very kind. We have been notified if there has been a problem, no matter how small which we appreciate. The range of activities on offer is fantastic and I'm sure Mum benefits from them. Mum is happy
that her room looks on to the garden, and often mentions it. The Manor is a very welcoming place to visit and nothing is a problem to the staff.
Reply from Akbar Mir, Home Manager at The ManorThank you for taking the time to leave a review for The Manor, and for your positive comments about our home and team. We are pleased to hear your mum is enjoying the view from her room out to the garden and the activities on offer have been beneficial to her. Your comments have been shared with the team who will be delighted to hear your feedback.

We chose this care home for the level of care they provide, the friendliness of the staff and the overall facilities available.
Other family members have agreed they couldn’t have hoped for more from a care home!

My stepmother was only in your care for a month and in that time I was very impressed with the care that she was given. She was in a beautiful room, the staff were very attentive and kind and we were very taken with the facilities of the care home, although she was not well enough to enjoy them. Towards
the end of her life, the staff were very good at keeping me informed of all that was going on.
Reply from Akbar Mir, Home Manager at The ManorThank you, Pam, for your kind words and recognition of the team at The Manor. We are sorry for your loss and we are pleased that the care your stepmother received while staying with us was to a high standard. Your positive comments will be passed on to the team.

Since my mum has come to stay in The Manor, she has begun to settle in. My mum responds very well with staff and they also relate well with her. Although my mum is not yet taking part in activities, I believe this will come in time. My mum is well cared for at The Manor and when I leave my mum I feel
comfortable leaving her and know she is safe and settling bit by bit every day. The Manor is clean, the food is good and the staff appear to be happy in their jobs, all of which are important factors to run a great nursing home.
Reply from Akbar Mir, Home Manager at The ManorThank you for taking the time to leave us a review Mhairi. It’s great to hear that your mum is settling in well and it’s to be expected that it will take a bit of time to fully settle into her new home. If there are any activities that your mum would like to do specifically, please do let us know and we can tailor something for her. Please feel free to get in touch with me if there is anything else we can do to help your mum settle in.

I stayed in The Manor for 9 days following orthopaedic surgery, hoping to help the recovery process without the stress of domestic matters. The care I received was second to none. The care and nursing staff were exceptionally kind and willing to help. Their attitude was positive and cheerful. I doubt
I could have coped at home three days after surgery whereas at the home, help was available by pressing a button. I would have no hesitations in recommending The Manor for respite, convalescence or residence.

From the moment you enter The Manor, you receive a warm welcome and know that this is somewhere special. My mother was admitted in December 2022 and unfortunately, did not live long enough to fully benefit from the care at The Manor. I cannot praise highly enough the staff at all levels for the care
and attention both my mother and myself and my husband received. Everyone went above and beyond. I would highly recommend The Manor.

I visited my relative and she told me she played bridge on Tuesday afternoon. It's hard to say how delighted I was to hear this, she enjoyed it enormously, as did the others playing with her. She told me how happy she is at The Manor and she cannot think of anything that could be done to improve it.
What an enormously reassuring statement this is for us.

Our mother was living in the Manor care home and moved into the home during covid times. The staff were caring, attentive, kind and patient with her at all times. after our mum.

My father was brought here under unusual circumstances. His wife refused to have him home from the hospital after having Covid. He doesn't want to be here and thinks he's going home. Staff understand this and take it day by day with him. Without exception, all I have witnessed is a caring and patient
attitude from all the staff. Any concerns or care requirements are attended to shortly after I have raised them, The food smells great! My dad's room always seems clean and tidy. My only concern ongoing is that my dad doesn't get enough exercise to stop his bad knee from getting worse.

My mother was in this home and was neglected, had a broken hip. The senior carer did nothing. Three days hobbling on her broken hip until my sister and I got a doctor. My mum had to have a replacement hip. My mother went to the hospital, then another care home. Unfortunately the same at the new home,
it wasn’t as posh so my older sister put her back into Northcare Manor because it looked good.

I cannot rate Northcare Manor highly enough for the love and care they gave my mother during her stay with them. It was a real home to her where she felt loved, safe, secure and completely contented.
It is a beautiful building inside and out with lovely gardens for the residents to enjoy. The home
is filled with love and laughter.
My mother loved the abundant amazing staff who are highly skilled, patient, kind loving people, who quickly become her family. Every one of them genuinely every day go that extra mile.
The owners are always available and the team are led by a fantastic manager who knows every aspect of running a nursing home.
I will be eternally grateful to them all for providing this level of love and care.Thank you to all them and a special thanks to the team.
Would highly recommend Northcare Manor for your loved ones.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.759)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.759) out of 10 for The Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.784 for The Manor is calculated as follows: ( (187 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 227 Ratings = 4.784
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Manor is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
