Mum has been a resident of Castle View since March 2024 and has been so happy, well looked after, loved even, and safe, during all that time, despite initially embodying 'Houdini'! As dementia slowly takes over her mind, and body by the advancement of the disease, she is treated wtih respect, understanding
and compassion by all of your team. She truly could not be in a better place. Both my sister and I feel this. We love seeing how inclusive the home is for the residents with such a variety of stimulating activities showcased on the Castle View social media page.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I stayed in Broadbridge Park for 9 weeks for respite and nursing care following a stroke and heard condition. From the day I arrived, my family and I were made very welcome by the wonderful staff. My room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There was a varied menu and light bites available if the
food was not to my taste. (The soups and desserts were a favourite.) I enjoyed getting to know the staff that have been looking after me. always with a smile, and they cannot do enough to make you feel supported and cared for. A real home from home.

Cotman House

from Alastair M (Son of Resident) published on 12 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum enjoys extended stays at Cotman house each year, in total several months. Despite being respite rather than permanently resident, the way the team welcome her is special -- I brought mum down for her last stay, during the fourth quarter of 2025, and on arrival we were met by a veritable posse of
charming, professional team members from Cotman who were clearly delighted to see her and made her feel comfortable and very welcome right from the start.
We have got to know Cotman well over the last few years. They are just a lovely bunch of genuinely caring people; despite the fact that mum's other home is over 600 miles away, she won't consider staying anywhere else which says a lot. Some of the individual team members are stand-out and I have seen why first hand, but truthfully they are all delightful. When mum is at Cotman, we all feel relaxed knowing she's not only in safe hands but she will be having a lovely time.
Reply from Kirsty Allen, Home Manager at Cotman HouseAlastair, thank you for your kind words and recognition of our team at Cotman House Care Home. We are so pleased to hear that we've met your expectations and that you were greeted warmly at Cotman House. The care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families are extremely important to us, and it's lovely to read your comments reflect this. Mum has been at the care home for 6 months. There has been good and bad things about her stay there.
Most of the staff are friendly and kind others seem to just be there because they have to be.

Sometimes she feels she isn't listened too about certain things.

Have had a few problems relating to

medication and her oxygen but these are being dealt with.

None of her clothes have been labelled yet even though they asked us to buy tags.

Other than that it has been good.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been in your care for a few years. She has dementia and this causes her lots or problems, mentality and physically. She has lots of fears and worries.
Every single member of staff treats her with respect, patience, kindness and utmost care. They calm her down when she is frightened,
they cheer her up when she is down, they take the time to explain things to her when she is confused.
She participates in most of the activities and really enjoys them, she gets upset if she cant if for example she is not well enough.
I think the activities and social side are very important to mum, before she came into care, she was a very social and active person with a large circle of friends, especially her church friends. She found it extremely hard to adjust when through very serious illness she had to go into care. The activities and socialising really helped her to adjust and accept, and continue to do so.
I have complete peace of mind, knowing my mother is safe and well cared for.
Reply from Erin O'Shea, Home Manager at Laverstock Care CentreThank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Lorna. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about your mother's care at Laverstock Care Centre, and it is lovely to hear she has settled into the home with the activities the team organise playing a big part of that. The home is very welcoming. The main problem being that there are not enough staff. The staff there are marvelous - very caring and respectful. The quality of the food has gone down and is often cold. Rooms are not cleaned often enough. Activities are often cancelled with no notification. Rooms are
in need of refurbishment.

My mother has been a resident in the care home for approximately three and a half years. The standard of care and attention for my mother throughout her time in the home has always been very high. The staff are very friendly, warm and caring and I know my mother is being well looked after. She has a
really nice room with a good view. Any issues that have occurred have always been dealt with in good time and the staff keep me informed of any concerns that arise. I can comfortably say that I am extremely grateful for the care and attention provided and would have no hesitation in recommending the care home to others.

My mum's care is generally good. However, some aspects could be better, basic care such as brushing hair, keeping the nails on her hands clipped and wearing stained clothes could be improved.

Generally very good, staff caring and responsible but room cleaning was erratic, and reminders were sometimes needed. The food - the menu was often unbalanced and the meat in particular was of poor quality. Ordering seemed to be disorganised. At times , often at weekends, there was no orange or prune
juice, no ice cream, no plain yoghurt (the most healthy type) cheese or fresh fruit.

The Orchard Nursing Home

The onboarding process was very easy and the home made a big effort to make Mum comfortable. At Christmas we had lunch with the residents and the staff, especially the chef, had made a big effort.
Since Mum went in the nursing staff have assisted with her medication, hearing, dementia diagnosis and
hearing issues.
The staff all smile, know the residents and treat them in a friendly manner.
On arrival to visit you are always greeted with a smiley face

Would like to Thank All the Staff at Horsell Lodge for looking after Mum these past (almost 4years).
Mum loved the caring atmosphere the staff brought to the 'Every Day events' and know how much she loved the Scrabble and Art group sessions.
Although Mum had mobility issues, she was always included
in the 'Sparkle Activities' Especially the Afternoon Tea and Summer BBQ, which she made sure I attended.
Again thanks for all the care she received, especially in her last few months.

I chose Mellish House after it was recommended to me by a friend. I moved my dad here so he could be closer to me, allowing me to visit more often, and it was very important to me that I made the right decision.
I am pleased to say I truly did. I have been able to see Dad every week and have met so
many kind, caring, and professional staff who ensure that all Dad's needs are met. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of them. Thank you.

Sanford House Nursing Home exeeds expectations; every member of staff goes above and beyond to deliver person-centred care; it feels like a real home from home. The care delivered is exceptional - I know with absolute certainty that my family member is being looked after with the utmost care. I am kept
up to date with all developments and involved as much as I want to be in my loved ones care, but I know for certain that even when things are busy in my life, I am too unwell to attend the team at Sanford House are still delivering outstanding care. The home is spotless, secure and safe. In summary, Sanford House inadvertently changed my perception of nursing homes - I would not want to be admitted anywhere else because the team are truly the utmost credit to the health and social care sector.
