Cotman House Care Home

The interaction with Kirsty has been and still is second to none. I am always fully informed and therefore have peace of mind. John is very happy at Cotman House and this because of the care and attention he receives. Once again, thank you

My relative has recently moved into Cotmas House, we are very happy with her room which is bright and well furnished. This opens onto the well kept garden area. The cafe opens onto this area, where she enjoys bringing family and friends for refreshment and sea views. The staff and all the carers offer friendly support of her health needs and are very kind towards her. There are regular activities which she is gradualy joining in with, she particulalry likes the visits from local dog walkers. The food menu is very godd and varied and she us encouraged to keep up her hydration. Provision of a mini fridge in her room would be good as she loves to keep snacks, fruit etc? The management are very approachable and help with any problems/queries. The overall cleanliness we can not fault either or the security in place.

We need to put my mum in for respite. She was made welcome and she really enjoyed her stay for 3 weeks. We had an option to leave her for the 3rd week which we took advantage of due to personal circumstances she needed to stay a week longer. She really enjoyed the activities that were on every day. She was very happy at Cotman House all staff looked after her needs very well. Mum said herself she could not fault the care and activities she was very happy.

Mum came in for two weeks respite. She really enjoyed it and came home having put on a few pounds. The staff and management were brilliant at fitting us in at short notice.and the care given to my mother. Without hesitation i would recommend this home .

When I have my other knee replaced, I wont hesitate to book into Cotman House, - that is if there's space and they'll have me!!!

We have got to know Cotman well over the last few years. They are just a lovely bunch of genuinely caring people; despite the fact that mum's other home is over 600 miles away, she won't consider staying anywhere else which says a lot. Some of the individual team members are stand-out and I have seen why first hand, but truthfully they are all delightful. When mum is at Cotman, we all feel relaxed knowing she's not only in safe hands but she will be having a lovely time.

My Dad came for a week's respite to Cotman House in March. The staff were really friendly, helpful and supportive. Communication was excellent, and staff were really professional and caring. I would definitely recommend Cotman House and felt my Dad was being looked after and having his care needs met.

My husband is already looking forward to his next visit.

Cotman House promotes and generates an excellent community style atmosphere through it's good management team and carers. Requesting any information or suggestions are always taken seriously and professionally. With the cafe especially, it is a good hub to relax with other resident's families. Happy and hardworking staff who are very approachable and friendly.

My brother stayed at Cotman House for three weeks in November/December 2024, to recuperate from a full hip replacement. My brother has learning difficulties and autism. Cotman House provided a safe and happy environment for him and he loved all the staff and the many activities provided for residents. Everyone at the home is friendly, helpful and caring, and I also received moral support from key members of staff, which was invaluable. I cannot thank everyone enough. My brother lives locally and it is a great comfort to know that, when the time comes, there will be a lovely place for him to go and live. It is excellent in every respect.

We feel very involved and welcomed as visitors.

My mother was a resident of Cotman House for a two week convalescent period following a fall at home. The staff of Cotman House prior to her arrival, were extremely helpful, informative and supportive on the telephone, especially one staff member in particular. One arrival, my mum was made to feel very welcome and she settled very quickly and happily into 'Cotman life'. The attending staff were all polite, willing to help and encouraging. The activities provided were appropriate, enjoyable and where necessary, suitably challenging.

Once my recuperation is complete I look forward to being able to return to Cotman House as a visitor.

Upon arrival, we were assisted to his room and all the care staff was incredibly helpful and understanding, he settled in quickly and enjoyed spending time with other residents, particularly with the resident ambassador as they often had breakfast together every morning, he thoroughly enjoyed his respite at Cotman House and we cannot recommend it enough.

The staff are excellent - caring and sensitive to one's needs. I have lived here for six years and always received care, and politeness.

In March my mum was in hospital and could no longer live with my husband and myself. I needed to find her somewhere to live. I did some research and a friend's mum was a resident at Cotman House. I was met by a lovely member of staff. I was taken into a room where we could have a private chat about my mum’s needs and my expectations. I was immediately put at ease. She then took me on a small tour of Cotman's house. I got to choose a lovely room for my mum. All the staff are very friendly. The house itself is extremely clean and doesn’t come with the usual smell that sometimes is associated with homes. My mum’s health has improved so much. There are so many activities every day. So you can pick and choose what you want to join in with. There’s no pressure it’s up to the individual. In summary, my mum has put on weight, she’s got her appetite back and her health has greatly improved. She has made new friends and I couldn’t wish for more at this time in her life.

Overall excellent - Cotman House is very well run. All the staff are competent, kind and respectful (we can't believe they are not paid more!).

The experience has given her a new lease of life

Following the recent passing of my mother-in-law I have visited Cotman House several times in an attempt to support their ventures. A small way of showing my appreciation for the high level of assistance and care the staff provided to her during her almost 2 years there. One such venture is the Paws for Coffee. Still in its early days, but each time I've visited I've been impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the staff and residents alike. An hour of interaction with the dogs is always enjoyed by all. The residents often repeat how much they love seeing them because it reminds them of their own pets from the past. Plenty of potential moving forward with new ideas suggested each week. Long may it last.
