Reviews

9.2 Homefield Grange Care Home has a Review Score of 9.2 (9.244)

The Review Score of 9.2 (maximum of 10) for Homefield Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 13 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Homefield Grange Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.697 for Homefield Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (110 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 155 Ratings = 4.697

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.547 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Homefield Grange Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 12.8 positive Reviews (64 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 7 Reviews ÷ 12.8 Target = 0.547

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

I was impressed by the building, the decor and the variety of facilities on offer, but most of all by the care, attention and respect that all the staff showed to the residents. My relative is very relaxed here and her agitation has gone. Her memory has improved and her sense of humour has returned. She has been accommodated in a number of placements over the last year and Homefield stands out for its quality of care.

My mother, aunt and uncle have all been residents at one time or another. My uncle still is. The home is well run and he is happy. I live abroad, but the staff remember me when I do visit and I always feel that the welcome is as genuine for me as it is for the residents. To know my family have been and are being cared for when one is far away is gold dust.

My husband and I are here for respite, my husband has dementia. The home itself is lovely, very modern and clean and a lovely assortment of lounges and a lovely sunroom where you can take a walk into the gorgeous gardens.
The food is very good with options of attractively presented meals, varied and tasty.
The staff are wonderful, helpful, very caring and loving to all the residents here, particularly ones with severe dementia - they're amazing.

As the husband of a resident who has advanced dementia and cannot speak or read or write, I consider Homefield Grange to be an excellent care home and I am extremely thankful for the care given to my wife.

The staff and facilities are second to none. The home has been caring for 3 members of my family. My father has now sadly passed away and my stepmother and her sister remain there. I can't praise the staff enough. Always welcoming and friendly, easy to communicate with and nothing is ever too much trouble. The care they give to residents is professional and compassionate. My relatives often regard the home as a hotel forgetting they're in a care home! The entertainment and personal care are also excellent. Grounds are lovely and in summer the family sit and picnic on the table provided. Even garden staff are friendly and happy to chat. My only wish would be that the cost was more affordable and that more people could offer this standard of care for their family members.

My mother stayed for 10 days respite. She is 100 yrs old and has stayed here twice before. The facilities are amazing, lovely big bright bedrooms, the dining room, lounges are also very light and bright with lovely views onto the well kept gardens. The staff are very friendly and efficient and do their best to keep everyone happy and occupied.

My mother moved in to Homefield in November and, although a short time here, she has settled in well and all the staff are so welcoming.
P.s I never say excellent on any questionnaire!!

The care my mother received in the last month's of her life that she spent at Homefield Grange was excellent. The staff listened to my mother's needs, considered all the family's wishes and gave her the best of care and attention. My mother's room opened out on to the garden which gave her pleasure watching wildlife and being able to experience fresh air when her mobility was compromised. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their sensitivity in making this very emotional time as pleasant and calm and possible.

Very warm welcome on arrival with my Aunt. Medical assessment completed and care plan put in place. Had stroke two days later - informed immediately, taken to A&E and returned same day with course of aspirin. Respite admission but day by day my aunt started to settle in and at this point in time is pleased that she is here, hopefully on a permanent basis. Staff always appear cheerful and all disciplines work to provide a caring, friendly environment. Caring team work to cater for each individual client is very evident. If a problem arises speak to staff immediately and quickly dealt with. Billing layout with head office big problem- ruining a day off from work.

I find the staff at Homefield very helpful and welcoming. As soon as we put my mother in law into the home, people went out of there way to introduce themselves and to ask if we needed anything. On a daily basis mum get the best care from the staff. They always look in on her and have a chat and even provide her with plenty of cuddles too. They always make sure mum is clean and eats as much as she can. Mum came from hospital to come here and since she arrived approx 2 months ago mum has even put on a bit of weight and is a lot happier in herself.
