My wife has now been at Laverstock for over three years.
In that time she has been treated with the utmost respect and looked after to a high professional degree
She eats very well and the food served is of a very high quality.
Her personal room is serviced on a daily basis and the home itself is
always very clean and provides a warm and welcoming environment.
The Nursing staff are always ready to discuss any arising medical issues and keep me fully informed of any problems.
The staff give 100% and are always friendly and willing to go the extra mile.
I am very happy to have my wife at Laverstock as I know she is being cared for to a high degree.

Accommodation quite basic. Quite a lot of things are wearing out and need replacing.
Staff are caring in the main. Some are lovely. Night staff leave a bit to be desired.
Food sometimes unsuitable/inedible for my parents.
Feels expensive for the amount my parents are able to take advantage of facilities.

Mum has been at the care home for 6 months. There has been good and bad things about her stay there.
Most of the staff are friendly and kind others seem to just be there because they have to be.
Sometimes she feels she isn't listened too about certain things.
Have had a few problems relating to
medication and her oxygen but these are being dealt with.
None of her clothes have been labelled yet even though they asked us to buy tags.
Other than that it has been good.

My mother has been in your care for a few years. She has dementia and this causes her lots or problems, mentality and physically. She has lots of fears and worries.
Every single member of staff treats her with respect, patience, kindness and utmost care. They calm her down when she is frightened,
they cheer her up when she is down, they take the time to explain things to her when she is confused.
She participates in most of the activities and really enjoys them, she gets upset if she cant if for example she is not well enough.
I think the activities and social side are very important to mum, before she came into care, she was a very social and active person with a large circle of friends, especially her church friends. She found it extremely hard to adjust when through very serious illness she had to go into care. The activities and socialising really helped her to adjust and accept, and continue to do so.
I have complete peace of mind, knowing my mother is safe and well cared for.

My mother was admitted to Laverstock Care Centre earlier this year. She had lost a lot of weight, had numerous falls, spirits were extremely low due to being isolated. But the difference now is uplifting. She has put on weight, she loved the food provided, and although she had a couple of falls, she
has been looked after and checked over very quickly. She also enjoys the activities and having her hair done.

My husband come to Laverstock Care Centre for 8 days respite, it was his first time. For the first 3 days he was a bit lost - not knowing his way about but when the Customer Relationship Manager he was happier. The personal care, medication and food were excellent. My husband did struggle with being
amongst other clients who were sick, dying and making a lot of noise. He enjoyed his room and the TV very much.

I continue to be completely reassured by the standard of care provided to my father at Laverstock.
He celebrated his 100th birthday there in August and I much appreciated the kindness and generosity of the management and staff in ensuring that he had a day to remember.
I am confident that the nursing
care he receives aligns completely with his mental and physical requirements and abilities and my questions as to his well-being are always answered honestly and willingly.
My father prefers not to participate in the comprehensive agenda of activities, preferring to enjoy the television and newspaper in his room. Despite this, the activities team do let him know what is taking place and he is encouraged to participate. His frailty unfortunately does not permit him to enjoy the outside trips laid on by the team.
I am always greeted in a friendly way by the reception, administration and facilities staff, who have always shown great kindness to me and other visitors.

My experience at Laverstock Care Centre has been exemplary. After the first viewing, we accepted the offer of an available room only two days later. Every aspect of the care is superb. The nurses are wonderful, there are many of them and nothing is too much trouble. The food is very good. My husband
has made excellent progress in the short time he has been here and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Laerstock Care Centre to anyone. A particular member of staff was always particularly helpful.

I have found my stay (2 weeks or 15 nights for some reason) very beneficial to my recovery after 2 weeks in hospital. I have done as much as possible for myself but when help was needed it was there and given with pleasure. The staff are amazing and show endless patience. I found the food very stoggy
too much starch and not enough fruit. The helpings are too large so a lot of wastage but imaginative and varied.

The day I came for 2 weeks respite to enable my assessment for rehabilitation my first impression of the staff and facilities, it looked like a 4-star hotel with a team of staff working as a team, with smiles on their faces. I went home with wonderful thoughts about it and I am now with the wonderful
team of physiotherapists, unbelievable! Yesterday was my first day of minor treatment and I have already achieved most of my goals. The care staff and managers are very good.

Welcoming greeted with a smile. My husband has been in this care home for a little while. Each and everyone of the staff are always caring and supportive when they are not busy with other clients. Carers just keep going nonstop. Weekends are a great concern, so few carers. Carers are very kind and
supportive and dignified. As for management, do not know who they are. Rooms are ok, carpets could do with a shampoo. Kitchen meals are very poor, size of the kitchen needs to be larger, a lick of paint would go a long way. Water jugs and beakers are awful. If my husband eats any more mince meals, he's going to look like mince.z
Reply from Erin Langley, Home Manager at Laverstock Care CentreThank you for taking the time to review us. I am so pleased that you are made to feel welcome when you visit Laverstock and that the care staff are caring and supportive. Thank you for your feedback in relation to staffing levels. This was discussed in a recent relatives meeting and we have now increased our staffing levels. Our staffing levels are under continuous review, and I will work closely with the team and our regional manager to carefully monitor this. As discussed in a recent relatives meeting, Leanne and I are keen to spend as much time as possible with our residents and their relatives. This is why we now work in the communal areas of the home where possible instead of the office. Thank you for your feedback regarding the meals. I have recently asked relatives to consider joining our dignity committee within the home so I will arrange for us to review the menus as a committee. If you would be interested in joining the dignity committee please let the Home know.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.440)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.440) out of 10 for Laverstock Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.627 for Laverstock Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (133 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 185 Ratings = 4.627
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.813 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Laverstock Care Centre is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16. 15 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.938
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
