My father is now living in Oakmoor he has settled in very well. The care he has received has been wonderful. All of the staff have time to talk to me they go into Dad's room and chat with him as he is unable now to join in activities. I'm kept informed on all changes and when doctors have visited and have regular updates. He has dementia. I can now leave and know he is safe and cared for. I cannot thank the manager and the staff enough.

My mother-in-law has settled in very well over the last few months and is now able to mostly attend the daily activities, which she enjoys. The events coordinator is very friendly and helpful and always has a smile on her face when I see her. There are varied activities and entertainment from outside groups that my mother-in-law really enjoys, I can see it on her face when I have been present too. Well done to the event coordinator.

My father had a very happy time at Oakmoor Lodge. He enjoyed the care and attention as well as having company and friendly people to talk to. Staff got to know my father and the whole family. We were so happy to know that he was safe and well cared for 24 hours a day. An added bonus was that Oakmoor Lodge has been thoughtfully designed and Dad had a wonderful room with a view which visitors always commented on. We only wish he had moved there much earlier!

Overall very good service and staff are very friendly and helpful. Cafe and area is brilliant and lovely to see activities daily. Overall, very impressive, lunchtime food could be better, but understand the difficulties. Perhaps more variety in food and chips.

Overall Experience
Both my parents are at Oakmoor and have very different needs and the care they are receiving is excellent. The staff seem to be very aware as to what is going with all the residents and do their utmost to meet everyone's needs. The continuity of the staff is also very pleasing as it is easy for both residents and families to get to know each other, which I personally find very comforting, given the sometimes difficult circumstances. They are all caring, very friendly and helpful.
The home itself is cosy and intimate and very well run.
The managers are extremely approachable with any issues you want to discuss and the communication all round is excellent.

As my parents can no longer manage at home, I am very happy that they are at Oakmoor which feels like a friendly hotel as opposed to a care home.

Very pleased we made decision for my mother-in-law to move into Oakmoor Lodge. Excellent care provided by friendly and compassionate staff who we have always found to keep us up to date. Clean and comfortable surroundings. Impressed with a daily schedule of activities where residents are encouraged to join.

A nice safe environment.

Mum has been in Oakmoor since November 2023 and is very happy there. The staff are very caring and always have time to chat and discuss Mum's progress. They are diligent in responding to any questions I ask, and equally are proactive in communicating with me if, for example, Mum isn't feeling well and/or feedback from a doctor's visit. There is a varied and interesting activity programme that covers things like handicrafts, quizzes and celebrating a range of religious festivals.

I was not going to put my mum into a home but dementia got too bad at home so I brought her to Oakmoore Lodge and I know I made the right decision. She is very safe, clean and she joins in with all the activities, so I am very happy with all that they do for her.

My friend has only been here a few days, but my first impressions have been very good. Everyone seems very friendly and kind. The food looks and tastes delicious.
The room is spacious, clean and fitted with most things that a resident could want.

A recliner chair would be a good addition to the room.

The events in December really seem to have engaged my father and encouraged him to miss more.
I attended the Christmas Party, which was great fun, well organised and again, the singing of the old songs really got him singing along.

Thanks to all the staff and volunteers.

The staff at Oakmoor are extremely supportive and caring. My uncle is treated with the utmost dignity and respect. The staff have gone the extra mile and he has a new chair and special bed. Oakmoor feels extremely safe with good security procedures in place. The activities are well thought through and planned with the residents very much at the heart of the events. Overall, we are very happy with my uncle's care.

When Mum moved to Oakmoor Lodge, it took her about three weeks to settle as everything was so new. The staff have been exceptional in their care, going over the normal to ensure Mum is happy and cared for. The food is very good with a large variety of choices for all pallets. Any concerns have been dealt with efficiently. Any medical matters are carried out fast and with complete professionalism. I would highly recommend Oakmoor Lodge.
