Really friendly staff who truly care about the residents. Although newly opened people have found 'their feet' without too many teething problems. My relative has settled in better than we thought - just hope there is a good level of staff retention, but can't fault anything!

My mum moved into Pottersway House a month ago. She has settled in very well considering she never wanted to go into a care home. She is starting to mix with the other residents and there are always activities going on and she is always encouraged to do things. Before she went into Pottersway House
we could not get her to eat anything but she loves the meals here and enjoys going into the dinning room to eat and she looks forward to her mealtimes. All the staff are very pleasant and caring, nothing is too much trouble and they keep me up to date about my my mum, they have sorted mum out with a new G.P very quickly. When we visit mum the home is like going into a hotel, the decor is beautiful, the gardens are lovely and so relaxing to sit in, the coffee machine, cakes and biscuits are a nice touch as mum thinks she is providing us with refreshments in her home. We are very happy that mum is being cared for by such a lovely team and we highly recommend Pottersway House Care Home

I've been to visit my auntie who has not long moved in, I could not believe how many activities the care home provided for the residents! The food was amazing, and the staff are so welcoming!! The home is very clean!

My mother has recently become a resident of Pottersway. It had been a difficult experience finding an choosing appropriate care for her.. i wanted to express my deep thanks to the management team, the nurses and carers alike..
The home is immaculately clean, well presented with beautiful decor and
surroundings which are calm and peaceful..
The staff and welcoming and friendly, offering reassurance and patience when dealing with complex health problems..
My mother has received nothing but wonderful care and compassion. She has settled quickly and feels at home. I am personally delighted with the home, the care, the food, and activities. The efforts the staff have made to make her reassured and settled. The staff have gone above and beyond my expectations. I have no hesitation in recommending the home to other prospective residents.

My mother moved to Pottersway House in May 2025. She has vascular dementia and had started to neglect herself and too wander so we made the decision to put her into f/t residential care. Since moving to Pottersway Mum has gained weight, been involved with various activities including exercising, games,
crafting and her favourite gardening. She is happy and content and although she cannot remember things, she can relate to the staff and her surroundings.

We feel we could not have chosen a better home which to convalesce and live.The home and staff go the extra mile for us regarding all our needs, medical and personal, and it was not long before we come to regard them as our second family.The activities are designed quite simply to engage our interests,
keep our brains active and enable us to make new friends.The routine is clear and adhered to without being at all oppressive and the staff are flexible in all sorts of ways because they are resident centres. My husband I and feel safe, secure and loved.

Could not rate this home and our experience here highly enough. From the moment Dad arrived we have all been shown such love, friendship and care, not just Dad. The staff are perfect. Professional, caring, thoughtful, observant. Nothing is too much trouble. Pottersway is beautiful, decor and garden.

My mum absolutely adores being in Pottersway Care Home. Every time we visit her she tells us how very happy she is and that she loves it there.
I cannot compliment the staff highly enough; They are attentive, sensitive and welcoming. Before joining the home, my mum was anxious, lonely and often tearful.
Now she is bopping along to Elvis, joining in with quizzes and exercise classes, and always seems to be creating artwork and flower arrangements.
I really struggled with the thought of putting mum into a home and now I wish I had done it sooner. It brings me such joy to see how happy, content and secure she feels. I would wholeheartedly recommend Pottersway to everyone.

Emma is the Interim Home Manager and brings a wealth of experience as a registered nurse for 27 years having worked both in the NHS and the private care home sector. Her journey started as a Home Manager in 2003 and she has since gone on to manage a number of homes over 15 years before moving into more Senior Management roles in Care Home Operations and Quality. Emma is committed to providing the highest levels of care and supporting the residents to lead a fulfilled and happy life.

Sally Appleton

Job Title: Clinical Deputy Manager Joined: 2025

Sally is the Clinical deputy manager at Pottersway House and brings with her a substantial amount of nursing experience in a variety of clinical setting; predominantly the NHS.


Sally qualified as a registered nurse in 1997 and her professional journey to date has encompassed many senior positions. These include several years spent as a nurse practitioner/site manager in an acute local trust, and more recently, 8 years as a NHS ward manager on an acute renal ward leading a team of 60 staff.


Sally encompasses and encourages the values we promote and always leads with kindness and compassion.


On a more personal level, Sally loves good coffee, cats, and time spent with family and friends. She is also a keen walker and loves nothing more than climbing a hill or mountain on her days off.

Andrew has over 25 years of experience in catering. 10 of which were in care industry.


He has worked in AA rosette standard restaurants and prides himself on bringing the fine dining element to the care home.
