There are some outstanding staff at Riverside who go 'above and beyond' for the residents. The activities provided are age appropriate, stimulating and enjoyable for the residents. The home always smells clean and fresh and is welcoming in the reception area. The laundry staff are excellent and take good care of residents' clothing. It is nice to see that the dining tables are now being covered with cloths which make mealtimes more welcoming. Nurses are employed which provides peace of mind to me as a relative. My mum has received excellent care and advice from them even though she is currently classed as residential. It is reassuring to know that, should her condition deteriorate, there will be continuity provided by the manager, nurses (and carers) with no need for her to move to a nursing home. The 'purpose built' nature of the building means that all floors are level which makes getting around easier. The proximity of gardens, and the nice views are a bonus.
Thank you for your kind review of Riverside Care Home. We are proud of our staff across all departments in the Home. It is wonderful that you have witnessed for yourself the high quality service and dedication they each bring to their roles each day. I will ensure that your lovely comments are passed on to the whole team.
Riverside Care Home provides an excellent service for my mother. She enjoys the food, room, friendliness of staff, activities and company of fellow residents. She often comments on how happy she is at the home.
Thank you for your kind review of Riverside Care Home. We are delighted that your mother is happy and comfortable with us. I will pass on your lovely comments to the team.
The staff are helpful and friendly, and the food is excellent.
There is a good range of activities on offer every week (Monday to Friday).
I am very happy here.
Thank you for your lovely review. The staff work hard to ensure that the care they deliver is always based on Care, Compassion and Friendship so it is great to hear that you experience these values here at Riverside. I will pass on your kind comments to the team.
We have found the staff at Riverside very friendly and professional towards mum. She has settled in well and is enjoying the care and attention, which is offered continuously throughout the day. She has slept well and found her room and bed comfortable.
Thank you for your kind review. Our staff ensure that our agreed values of Care, Compassion and Friendship, are always at the heart of everything they do. I am delighted that you and your mum have experienced these values in practice at Riverside. I will pass on your lovely comments to the team.
Mum was reluctant at first, but as soon as she moved into Riverside, she settled in and now she loves it. She is making friends and joining in the activities, particularly music. It is also good to know that she is eating regularly.
Thank you for your lovely review. We understand how challenging the moving in process can be for people and we try to make the experience as welcoming and reassuring as possible for all our new residents and their families. I am delighted that your mum is happy and has settled in well. She...
Whenever I visit my friend at Riverside, I am always pleasantly surprised to be greeted by such a clean, lovely smelling home. My friend is very well looked after and can't praise the staff highly enough. They are very attentive towards residents and their visitors and I am always made to feel very welcome. I have witnessed the activities and I think it is very clever how the staff get the residents to engage in exercise, without them feeling it is a chore. Everyone seems to always be enjoying themselves and everything is made fun. I have recommended Riverside Care Home to people in the past and I will continue to do so, as I feel from what I have seen for myself that it is a lovely, warm and welcoming home with fantastic staff!
Thank you for your lovely review of Riverside Care Home. We aim to incorporate fun, care and friendship into everything we do, so I am delighted that you have witnessed this yourself when you have visited. Our staff are our greatest asset and we are very proud of them. I will make sure that your kind comments are passed on to the team.
My dad has been in the care home for six weeks. We had to get him in quickly, after a number of falls, and the manager couldn’t have been more helpful. We secured a place and moved him in six days. All the staff are lovely and caring and the home is very clean, no smell at all. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I live 150 miles away and when I visit I am greeted warmly with coffee and tea. I highly recommend the home. They regularly arrange activities and entertainment for the residents.
Thank you for your kind review. I am delighted that we were able to make the moving in process as seamless as possible for your dad and yourself. We love having your dad here at Riverside and it is rewarding for us all to see how well he has settled in. All of our staff remain committed to...
I am very pleased with the care my mum receives. She is clean and has a good diet. Her clothes are laundered nicely and the night care is good. Recently, my mum had an off day and her sats (oxygen saturation levels) were all done. On finding she had raised blood pressure, the doctor was called and discovered Mum had a chest infection; this was nipped in the bud quickly.
Thank you for your kind review. We are proud of our nurses and I am delighted to hear that they were responsive to a change in your mum's condition and escalated the concern quickly. Our resident's wellbeing is our main priority and is it great to hear that you are pleased with the quality of our service.
Whilst nothing ever replaces being at home, my mum's complex care needs required nursing care, and most importantly she was comfortable as could possibly be and felt safe.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Riverside.
Thank you for taking the time to leave Riverside Care Home a review. We understand these decisions are hard and can be difficult when making them on behalf of your loved ones. I will pass on your kind words to all the staff.
Sadly, my sister-in-law passed away after a year at Riverside. At her passing and for the whole period, the standard of care was exemplary. I would recommend this care home without reservation, particularly the staff.
What a lovely review of Riverside Care Home. Thank you so much for not only leaving your reflections but also your feedback you have written regarding the team. It is always reassuring to know that your loved ones are in safe hands and you are happy with the service we provide. I will pass on your kind words to all the staff.
The cleanliness of the home, Mum's room and her personal hygiene are maintained to a very high standard. She is treated with respect, utmost consideration and dignity.
I would recommend Riverside without reservation.
Thank you, Greg, for your kind words; we really appreciate your feedback and that you are happy with the home.
Nurses are friendly and keep me informed, liaising with other agencies eg: district nurses/physio to enhance Mum's care.
The home is well equipped with standing aids, specialist mattresses and other things to and kindness and enable her to be herself.
They are highly skilled in providing numerous activities (some organised, some thought up on the spur of the moment) to keep Mum occupied and her mind stimulated. I've observed music events, bingo, exercise sessions, colouring, knitting, having her nails painted or just sitting having a chat. Staff even bring in their dogs to visit, which Mum loves.
Riverside is a wonderful home. To know Mum is safe, well cared for and treated with kindness gives me peace of mind and I thank every single member of staff for caring for her so well.
Thank you again for your kind words.
We are so pleased and thankful that we chose Riverside Care Home to care for our lovely mum who spent almost four and a half years there until her death five weeks ago.
Mum settled in very well and accepted that as she could no longer live independently, this was the best thing for her. She loved all the staff and they were very fond of her. Lots of fun and smiles!
Riverside is so clean, sweet smelling and welcoming at all times. Mum loved the food, the activities and her lovely en-suite bedroom but was happiest in her chair in the lounge with others. She loved to watch residents, visitors and staff and loved the musical activities.
Riverside has been a real home from home to us as well as Mum and the manager, nurses, carers and all staff have been amazing
We, as a family, will fly the Riverside flag as it was Mum’s home and the staff and residents were her family and much loved.
We miss you all.

Thank you so much for these kind words, we really appreciated having you all in our lives. We look forward to keeping in touch and your ongoing support.
The nursing and care team at Riverside Care Home provided excellent residential care and support for my elderly parents for a number of years. When they arrived at Riverside neither of my parents were in the best of health but with care and patience, the team there nursed them back so that both of them regained mobility and felt settled and secure. They looked after their various needs and accepted their little foibles. The team made them feel ‘at home’ and cared for. Each time the family visited they remarked on what a clean, homely and welcoming environment Riverside offered. We were so fortunate to find Riverside Care Home. The Manager of the home led her team through the Covid crisis. The imposed constraints must have put huge stress on the whole organisation but she coped excellently and kept everyone as secure as possible. This gave a lot of comfort to loved ones who couldn’t be with their family members during this difficult time. Everyone at Riverside deserves our thanks.
Thank you for these comments, it was an honour to care for your parents and we miss you all.
Thanks again to all the staff.
Thank you for these lovely words, it was an honour and a privilege to care for your mother and to be there for you all.
Simply put, I could not imagine a better place to care for our mother. Clean, caring, respectful and giving residents every opportunity to engage in appropriate activities. More importantly, this family view is entirely shared by our mum, who truly appreciates the care she receives at this late stage of her life. A heartfelt thank-you to all at Riverside.
I would defy anyone to provide better care than the staff at the Riverside, Burton on Trent, provide for their residents. Our mother has been here for over two years now, she has six grown up children and we all visit on a regular basis at various times so we have a good overview of day in day out practice and have found it be of a consistently high standard. The home is exceedingly well managed - there is a culture of genuine kindness and respect for the residents. There are plenty of activities to keep their minds and bodies as agile as possible. The channels of communication are excellent. We never thought our mother would ever settle in a residential home, having been a strong and independent person throughout her life but she has come to see the Riverside as her home. When she was last talking about the kindness of the staff, which she frequently does, she said “Next to my own children, they are my family.” I don’t think you could give a higher accolade than that.
The premises themselves are clean, well set out and welcoming. The staff are attentive, caring and obviously enjoy their work. They all know each resident (and their regular visitors) and treat them with respect and warmth. The food is excellent and there are a variety of activities arranged on a daily basis. Highly recommended.
My wife and I cannot fault the manager and staff, they were so kind and caring to my Mother and made her last days happy, they were also there for all the family and cannot thank them enough.
