Sandmere Margate is always very welcoming, clean, and efficient. Staff very caring, right from receptionists to maintenance and chef passing by. My father and my uncle are both very happy here because of the excellent care and attention, especially so in this hot weather, keeping residents hydrated and as cool as possible in an un-air-conditioned building.

My Sister has been at Sandmere since the end of January 2026. She was at another home prior to that which did not meet her needs. Since being at Sandmere , and after a settling in period she is now enjoying her life here and takes part in the activities when she can , she loves the mealtimes , and the carers/staff are so very kind and caring towards her.
I cannot thank them enough, I know she is in the right place which gives us as a family peace of mind.

Thank You

Sandmere is a happy, caring home which has shown continuous, positive development in the last 12 months.
Mum has Parkinson's dementia and needed 24 hour care and companionship which proved impossible in her own home.

We are happy to say she has settled so well into Sandmere thanks to the caring, nurturing staff. Thank you all

Overall Experience
My husband and I visited our long time friend who is a resident at Sandmere. As soon as we stepped through the door we were welcomed by Emma a lovely young lady who worked at the reception .
She showed us to our friends room and what a lovely room it was. Very clean, bright, and modern.
Our friend then took us on a tour of Sandmere it had to be a 5*+ better than any hotel we have ever stayed at.
The staff were so nice and kind even though they were busy they still said hello and had a chat with us.
The dining area was very welcoming and the menu and food looked lovely.
We then went to the area for guests where there was tea, coffee, snacks and home made pastries for guests.
Coffee was made for us by staff which was very nice.
So we say to all staff at Sandmere thank you for the care you show to your residents but also to visitors.

We will visit again.

I would like to commend Sandmere's housekeeper who made no fuss & did an excellent job of cleaning up my Dad's room following an accident last week. It was much appreciated. I felt powerless to help as I had nothing suitable to use but she assured me that it was her role and no bother at all. She was quick, efficient & managed to remain upbeat & jovial throughout - which I would have struggled to be in her position!! She was a real superstar and SO professional and I would like to thank her.

We visited Sandmere for a birthday celebration for a resident. We didn't see any residents rooms or experience the normal meals. However, we were warmly welcomed on arrival, the staff we saw were friendly and helpful, the home was impeccably clean and well-presented. Overall, a very pleasant environment. The resident seemed very happy with his stay. We were impressed to hear how the home provides a birthday cake of the residents choice, and about how they organised activities to suit the residents. Overall, very impressed.
