The home features all en-suite bedroom suites, including many specifically designed for those with dementia. There is also a cinema, a beauty salon, a café and a bar.

Activities are available daily with the activities coordinator and the home has its own activities room. Independence is prioritised and residents can choose their activities, food and go out to the nearby shops or large park as they wish.

I felt such guilt when I took my mum into Sycamore Park, but it has been my lifesaver in many ways with my mum's dementia and failing health. They said she would settle, and she quickly did.
The care and personal support they have given my mum have been exceptional. They have been her second family,
especially through Covid. The quality of care, the cleanliness, the food and the surroundings are as good as the best hotels. In the 10-months, Mum was there, I never had any issues.
The cost is higher than some homes, but you definitely get what you pay for, and Mum was extremely happy there until her end of life.

My precious mum moved to Sycamore Park in November of last year. Whilst initially this is not what myself and my son wanted for Mum, it became apparent within weeks that actually she was in the best place. And what a place! The management and carers provided a service second to none. Their commitment,
love, care and compassion was nothing short of outstanding, and we cannot thank you enough. I am not allowed to name names, but you know who you are. We will never forget you and what you did for Mum during her final weeks. We had confidence that you were doing your utmost to keep Mum comfortable, involving external agencies to provide extra support. More importantly, we knew that Mum felt safe and loved, which meant the world to us.

My mum has been a resident at Sycamore Park for over two years now. As a purpose-built development, the facilities are first-class, compared to many of the alternative homes in converted Victorian buildings that we viewed. The staff are excellent, the food is very good, and there is a weekly programme
of activities for residents to enjoy. I really can’t fault the care Mum has received and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sycamore Park to other potential residents or their families.

The staff are very caring to the service users and very welcoming to visiting family members. Attention is given to the individual needs and personalities of the residents.
Staff have been very good at keeping family members informed and in touch with activities during the past difficult months of
the pandemic.

My mum has been a resident since May 2021, and during this time, she has been given excellent treatment by every member of staff. The home is of a very high standard, as are the staff. Each and every one of them are a credit to the company. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

My aunt has been a resident here for almost 2-years.
She has, at all times, been treated with the utmost care and consideration.
Her dignity and self-belief have always been respected.
The home is beautifully maintained, clean and welcoming. It is attractively decorated throughout.
The staff are
exceptional in their commitment to those in their care.
She has made genuine friendships with the care staff. This also includes those not directly involved in her personal care.
There does not seem to be a high turnover of staff, which must reflect upon the management.
I noticed on my last visit that they were all in new uniforms.
The precautions instigated by the pandemic are still policy, for which I am most grateful. Their caution and professionalism over these past difficult months have been exemplary.
My aunt looks at Sycamore Park as her home and is settled and content.
As her only remaining blood relative, who lives 200 miles away, this gives me peace of mind.

Mum went into Sycamore Park for respite care in January 2020 and was so happy and safe there; she eventually sold her home and has never left.
The staff have been amazing, treating her with so much love, care and dignity.

The positivity and attentiveness of everyone at Sycamore Park were outstanding. There is a culture of kindness, empathy and a need to support the residents as best they can. They make such a difference every day - a kind word, a joke, a song, lots of activities, and just being there when they are needed.
The caring industry isn't just a job - every day the staff of Sycamore Park make a difference to those they care for. They make their lives just that little bit brighter every day. Thank you for looking after Mum so well during her respite care. I'm so grateful to you all. I can't tell you what a difference it made to me to know she was safe and cared for the entire time. My elderly mother moved into Sycamore Park in July 2020. She was made very welcome by the friendly staff, who were kind and gentle with her and made her feel at home. She enjoyed the food, and her birthday cakes were personalised works of art. The activities for the residents were many and varied, and
the staff did their best to involve everyone. The photos and videos posted on the home's Facebook page kept relatives in touch during the Covid-19 restrictions on visiting and were a real boon. During my mother's last weeks, when she was bed-ridden, the staff helped her to eat and drink; and during her last days, my mother was kept comfortable, and a member of staff sat with her day and night.
Overall, my mother received excellent care throughout her stay at Sycamore Park.

I cannot praise this care home enough. I find the staff helpful, polite and happy. I am relaxed and confident that my mum is being cared for in the best way possible. I would recommend this care home. I feel lucky that my mum has a place here, and I thank all the staff who care for her.

Find the care home immaculate. Staff friendly and caring.
Always hard putting a relative into care, but out of necessity, we had to do this, and so pleased we found sycamore Park.
Mum enjoys her bath several times a week.
The residents are a good mix and mum has made friends.
The entertainment
offered is great from dominoes, bingo, cinema live singers outside socially distanced etc.

Sycamore Park is unlike any care home I’ve known; it is more like a hotel, the rooms and facilities are first class. It has a pretty and welcoming garden that is beautifully maintained. An all-around fantastic setting for residents and visiting loved ones. The staff are amazing, especially noted throughout
this pandemic. You can feel the loving and caring atmosphere as soon as you enter. More like a large family, home from home. Throughout this pandemic, especially when the Government guidelines didn’t allow visits at all, we, the families, on the outside have been able to ring at any time of day or night to speak to loved ones or enquire, always met with a friendly voice. Never made to feel a nuisance, even though the staff/carers must have been so busy. Pics/videos of residents and the many activities they have been provided with put on the website nearly every day so that you felt as if you were actually visiting. Thank you, Sycamore Park!

After the ‘kick in the teeth’ from The PM with his comment "too many care homes didn't really follow the procedures" during the coronavirus outbreak, I want to say how, as difficult as it has been for us, the relatives, we are grateful for all the procedures and practices the home has put in place to
protect our loved ones.
They acted by locking down quickly, as soon as the threat was ‘real’, not waiting for the government to tell them to lockdown, once the threat was already causing unnecessary deaths.
They have gone above and beyond to keep our loved ones protected and when the home felt the time was right, they arranged safe visits for us to see them.
They have kept our loved ones safe ‘in spite of’ rather than ‘because of’ the government ‘guidelines and assistance’ and I respect and applaud them for this.

This is a delightful home, whose excellent staff ensure the residents are happy and well cared for. Well led by the management team; the home is well decorated and cleanliness paramount. The kitchen staff produce healthy, well-balanced food and wonderful cakes. Activities are led by feedback from the
residents, plus a variety of entertainment. Laundry and utility staff do their tasks to the highest standard. My mum has lived at the home for fifteen months and is nicely settled and I recognise, well cared for. I would recommend to anyone.

My Mum has been in Sycamore Park for one year. The rooms are spacious. Food is delicious. Activities are great. The staff, including management, are wonderful, caring, compassionate and many are now friends to me. Mum is treated with dignity. She is always assured if things are OK, is encouraged to
say if not but has never had cause to complain. Mum has got a new lease of life and this home was the best thing for Mum.

Coral Abrahams

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

From early childhood, Coral developed the desire to aid the elderly after spending her weekends helping at the day centre her Nan supervised.


After graduating from Huddersfield University in 2014 with a Biomedical Science (Hons) degree and achieving a Level 5 in Health and Social Care Leadership and Management, Coral went on to manage nursing, residential and memory care services prior to joining us here at Sycamore Park.


Coral has a sincere passion for improving the quality of life for those residents in her care and enjoys focusing on the well-being initiatives within the home.


As well as managing Sycamore Park Care Home, she is also a mother to her beautiful one-year-old daughter.

Lisa

Lisa McArdle

Job Title: Home Administrator Joined: 2019

Lisa is passionate about caring for the older generation and uses her own skills to ensure the best possible experience for our residents, as well as our staff.


She draws on her own personal experiences to understand the emotions families can go through, and this enables her to build solid relationships with both our residents and their family members.


Lisa loves each and every one of our residents and says it’s an absolute honour to spend her working day supporting them in their homes.

Stuart Lamont

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2018

Stuart has worked as a Head Chef in residential/hospital care for almost 20 years.


He organises all aspects of our kitchen, including food purchasing, menus and managing the assistant kitchen staff.


He enjoys creating nutritious meals suitable for all our residents here at Sycamore Park and will not shy from creating meals that are specific to our residents’ cultural needs and personal tastes.


As well as being a full-time Chef, Stuart has 3 wonderful children.

Sharon

Sharon Beatty

Job Title: Head Housekeeper Joined: 2021

Previous to working at Sycamore Park, Sharon worked in a tea and coffee shop for 34 years. She enjoyed the daily interaction with the customers and meeting new people.


After 34 years, Sharon desired change and started a new career here at Sycamore Park where she became exceedingly close to all of our staff and residents. She often expresses that the residents and staff are like family.


Sharon relishes new challenges and no task is too small.

Shane Greaves

Job Title: Maintenance Operative Joined: 2023

With over 30 years in the building and landscaping industry, Shane brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. Shane's partner is the clinical lead in one of our sister homes and soon Shane realised that he also had the same passion for helping those who most need it.
