Located in Plympton in Plymouth, The Long Brook Residential Home offers residential care for up to 24 adults.

The home is situated in the peaceful countryside, offering beautiful views from many rooms and a great garden space for residents to relax and potter in during the warmer months.

Inside, there are 24 bedrooms with many offering en suite facilities. All are well presented and residents are welcome to bring along their own belongings to help them settle in and feel more at home. There is also a living area and a spacious dining area for residents to enjoy the meals prepared for them each day. A lift is available to ensure all parts of the home are accessible.

The team at the home work hard to make sure each day is as enjoyable as possible for residents. They deliver person centred care and arrange plenty of activities which residents can engage in as often or as little as they like. Respect and compassion are at the heart of everything they do, making sure every resident feels valued during their time at the home.

The Long Brook residential home was the perfect find for our dear mum. The minute we stepped through the door on our first viewing, we knew it was a homely home. Mum enjoys the activities when she wants to join in with the other residents or when she wants her quiet time. She enjoys the view from her
room. The manager and all the team are friendly and professional. The lovely homemade food is another aspect that makes Long Brook a great choice.

This care home is excellent. My mother has settled in well and made friends with other residents. Thestaff are all friendly and helpful. The food is all homemade and very good. Her room is lovely with a wonderful view from Monday to Friday. The gardens are well laid out and accessible. The home is very
clean. I would choose to live here if I needed residential care.

The care provided for mum was excellent, the staff were all friendly, approachable and helpful. The whole process, from the initial enquiry, the visit, admission and admin. were all dealt with in an understanding and sympathetic manner. Mum was very happy with the location, her room, facilities, activities
and care provided by all of the staff. I have no hesitation in recommending Long Brook.

It was Mum's first time away for us. She was apprehensive but the staff put her at ease. She had a problem with her blood pressure meds but the staff and doctor sorted it out. She had a fright on her first night but it was sorted and no more trouble. Everyone was very kind and gentle with her and she
felt safe and cared for. Hopefully she can visit again in May. Thank you to everyone who looked after Mum.

Welcoming, friendly, go the extra mile, very caring and meets the needs of individuals.
My mum has stayed at this residential home on respite on several occasions and she is so happy to stay there.
The staff are so professional, they are all approachable and nothing is too much trouble.
The residents
are entertained daily, stimulated and well cared for.
Clean and well-kept home. Could not ask for more when we place Mum in their care.

Really pleased with the care my mother receives at Longbrook. It's taken a lot off my mind, knowing that she is safe and well there.
One of the plus points is the activities that she is able to attend. She loves them and wishes they were available at weekends too! The staff are really friendly and
she enjoys her little chats with them. They listen to her, which is important.
Her health needs are well catered for. Overall a wise decision to place her there.

Mum has been in Long Brook for over 2 years and is very happy there. She tells everyone "she is well looked after and the food is good". The atmosphere in the home is very friendly.

My mum who has Alzheimer's spends time at The Long Brook for a couple of weeks at a time respite & day care & absolutely loves it!
She feels safe & has made friends with residents & staff. She absolutely loves the entertainment because she loves dancing & all the activities that are provided. Nothing
seems too much trouble.
I don't live in Plymouth but I call my mum when she is there & the staff couldn't be more helpful & friendly over the phone.
Thank you for looking after her so well.
We would love nothing more than to make her a permanent resident!

My mum (96) needed a residential home three months ago, having had several falls. The family were very concerned about her having to have full-time care. The Long Brook was absolutely the best option. The staff are totally lovely, friendly, professional and caring. The home itself is welcoming and clean
(but not clinical), providing excellent care and an amazing selection of activities. The food is good, wholesome and homecooked. It really is a "home-from-home", and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing first-class care.

After trying several care homes in the Plymouth area we have finally found one that engages with its residents in a stimulating way, both physically and intellectually. Each resident has a regular care plan assessment to target their individual care needs. Each resident is treated as an individual,
not a cash cow as in so many other places. A truly amazing place. It should be held as a beacon of what care homes should be. While the resident's needs are being continually met, the home also takes into consideration the client's family needs, all are made to feel very welcome. Thoroughly recommend this wonderful establishment.

My partner went in for 5 days of respite care. The home is spotlessly clean with absolutely no unpleasant odours. The staff were all very kind and caring and were always ready to help out.
We would have no hesitation in coming back to The Long Brook.

Cannot express enough what a lovely care home all the staff are amazing. They looked after my 80-year-old mum to such a high caring standard. She has been staying for respite and was very sad to leave as she not only made lovely friends but the activities they put on were absolutely amazing!. The food
and cleanliness were also of a very high standard. All down to a fabulous team. Well done team and she will definitely be back.

Excellent care and attention given to my Mum over the past two years. Staff are attentive and kind and have got to know Mum and her ways of doing things, understanding of her desire to retain her independence and make decisions when able. Patience and encouragement are shown when Mum is reluctant to

I cannot rate this home (Long Brook) highly enough. The care, dignity, respect and love given to my mother over the last two years have been second to none. All the staff treated her with such love and care - like she was their mother or grandmother. The love and help they gave the family when we needed
it at our most devastating time; they all became our family. All the rooms, entertainment, food, activities, safety and security were excellent. Can never be able to find the words to say thank you to them all for their love and care.

My mum went into The Long Brook Residential Home in September 2022. She was in poor health and not able to be living on her own. She settled in quickly and slowly began to improve. The care and attention have been wonderful. In the beginning, she did not want to get out of bed and join the other residents
for food and entertainment. But now she is much more social. She is much stronger with her physical strength. She now joins in with everything and she has made new friends. For all the family it is wonderful to see.

If you are looking for residential care for a loved one, then look no further than The Longbrook. Our darling Mum spent just a few weeks there after several weeks in hospital. Sadly, during her short stay, she passed away. Each and every member of staff were incredible. Our family basically moved in
during Mum's last week. The dignity and care shown to Mum was second to none. We, as a family, were catered for each and every day. We met some wonderful people, some of whom we will stay in touch with for the longest time. Thank you The Longbrook staff. We truly don't know what we'd have done without you.
