Longbrook staff are caring, kind and engage closely with everyone in their care. It would be difficult to find a home that offers more - every key date in the calendar (like VE Day, Burns NIght etc) is celebrated with a special event, food, or outside entertainment.

Without being intrusive the staff

work hard to ensure their "guests" are comfortable and stimulated by regular activities and trips. Longbrook is as close to a "home from home" as its possible to get, they take every opportunity to engage with residents' families and friends. We feel extremely lucky to have found Longbrook and comfortable knowing that our relative is in the capable and caring hands of everyone there.

My mum has been going to Long Brook as a day care patient one day a week and has recently stayed for a week to give me respite. I can highly recommend this amazing home. The staff are so welcoming, caring and supportive. My mum loved the activities and her time spent with the other residents and the
brilliant Long Brook team. . I have looked at other care homes but Long Brook is simply the best. It has a homely and warm feel that provides the best possible care in a safe environment. Carrie the business manager helped me navigate respite and Reece the manager was so helpful in the beginning. I would not put my mum anywhere else. It gives me such peace of mind knowing mum is so happy and well cared for. Thank you to all the wonderful team at Long Brook.

My mother in-law has Respite in Longbrook, she absolutely loves going there and enjoys this place so much. She stays 2weeks 3 times a year and if I'm honest we wouldn't put her anywhere else.
Longbrook staff are amazing, very caring, interactive, always supportive and do so much for the service users.
I
would recommend this beautiful happy and safe place to anyone who needs to be cared for.

when Dad needed to go into a care home after we looked after him at his home for 3 years, i was so worried about horror stories i had heard. We looked at 6 homes in and around Plympton so Dad would be close to where i live and work in Plympton.
Long brook came highly recommended by a supplier to them
and also social services plus the lovely feel and first impressions made it an easy choice to make for him.
Staff were always friendly when i visited and Dad was so happy there, he did complain about the food but it would never be the same as when i just cooked for him every day.
all the staff are fantastic there but i have to mention Anna, Vicky and Reece xx
always clean , no call bell constantly ringing and seemingly constant checks on the residents
i cant thank them all enough !!
Reply from Carrie Bailey, Office Manager at The Long Brook Residential HomeThank you so much for this lovely review. We understand how difficult the decision can be to move into a care home, and we're truly grateful that you entrusted us with your dad's care. Our priority is always to make The Long Brook feel like a real home-not just for the people we support, but for their families as well.
I will make sure to pass your kind words on to the whole team. Your dad will certainly be missed here.

Mum has lived at Longbrook res home for more than 4 yrs
She has received excellent care and attention from all staff at Longbrook who with us have reassessed her as her needs changed over time leading to changes in her care plan .
The home is lovely; the environment is very comfortable, but , most
of all it is the super staff who make the home by providing Mum with excellent care, meeting her physical and psychological needs.
The team at Longbrook support Mum with her day/night care needs, provide good meals and keep the home clean and tidy, maintaining and renovating the home and organising stimulating activities. It is a happy home.
We are delighted that Mum lives at Longbrook.

The Long Brook residential home was the perfect find for our dear mum. The minute we stepped through the door on our first viewing, we knew it was a homely home. Mum enjoys the activities when she wants to join in with the other residents or when she wants her quiet time. She enjoys the view from her
room. The manager and all the team are friendly and professional. The lovely homemade food is another aspect that makes Long Brook a great choice.

It was Mum's first time away for us. She was apprehensive but the staff put her at ease. She had a problem with her blood pressure meds but the staff and doctor sorted it out. She had a fright on her first night but it was sorted and no more trouble. Everyone was very kind and gentle with her and she
felt safe and cared for. Hopefully she can visit again in May. Thank you to everyone who looked after Mum.

Really pleased with the care my mother receives at Longbrook. It's taken a lot off my mind, knowing that she is safe and well there.
One of the plus points is the activities that she is able to attend. She loves them and wishes they were available at weekends too! The staff are really friendly and
she enjoys her little chats with them. They listen to her, which is important.
Her health needs are well catered for. Overall a wise decision to place her there.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.763)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.763) out of 10 for The Long Brook Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.788 for The Long Brook Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (179 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 226 Ratings = 4.788
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Long Brook Residential Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, Carrie truly understands what it takes to make residents feel at home. She loves building strong relationships with families and supporting our amazing team. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing with a good book.
