My mum (96) needed a residential home three months ago, having had several falls. The family were very concerned about her having to have full-time care. The Long Brook was absolutely the best option. The staff are totally lovely, friendly, professional and caring. The home itself is welcoming and clean (but not clinical), providing excellent care and an amazing selection of activities. The food is good, wholesome and homecooked. It really is a "home-from-home", and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing first-class care.

After trying several care homes in the Plymouth area we have finally found one that engages with its residents in a stimulating way, both physically and intellectually. Each resident has a regular care plan assessment to target their individual care needs. Each resident is treated as an individual, not a cash cow as in so many other places. A truly amazing place. It should be held as a beacon of what care homes should be. While the resident's needs are being continually met, the home also takes into consideration the client's family needs, all are made to feel very welcome. Thoroughly recommend this wonderful establishment.

My partner went in for 5 days of respite care. The home is spotlessly clean with absolutely no unpleasant odours. The staff were all very kind and caring and were always ready to help out.

We would have no hesitation in coming back to The Long Brook.

Cannot express enough what a lovely care home all the staff are amazing. They looked after my 80-year-old mum to such a high caring standard. She has been staying for respite and was very sad to leave as she not only made lovely friends but the activities they put on were absolutely amazing!. The food and cleanliness were also of a very high standard. All down to a fabulous team. Well done team and she will definitely be back.

I cannot rate this home (Long Brook) highly enough. The care, dignity, respect and love given to my mother over the last two years have been second to none. All the staff treated her with such love and care - like she was their mother or grandmother. The love and help they gave the family when we needed it at our most devastating time; they all became our family. All the rooms, entertainment, food, activities, safety and security were excellent. Can never be able to find the words to say thank you to them all for their love and care.

My mum went into The Long Brook Residential Home in September 2022. She was in poor health and not able to be living on her own. She settled in quickly and slowly began to improve. The care and attention have been wonderful. In the beginning, she did not want to get out of bed and join the other residents for food and entertainment. But now she is much more social. She is much stronger with her physical strength. She now joins in with everything and she has made new friends. For all the family it is wonderful to see.

If you are looking for residential care for a loved one, then look no further than The Longbrook. Our darling Mum spent just a few weeks there after several weeks in hospital. Sadly, during her short stay, she passed away. Each and every member of staff were incredible. Our family basically moved in during Mum's last week. The dignity and care shown to Mum was second to none. We, as a family, were catered for each and every day. We met some wonderful people, some of whom we will stay in touch with for the longest time. Thank you The Longbrook staff. We truly don't know what we'd have done without you.

I recently spent a week at Long Brook while my daughter had a much-needed holiday. This, being a new experience for me, at first, I felt a little lost. All the staff, however, were always smiling and helpful and by the end of the week I felt quite at home. I would like to think that if in time I should need permanent care, there would be a room vacant at Long Brook.

This is a care home that certainly cares, not just for its residents but also for their families. The staff always have a smile for you and Mum constantly tells me how happy she is. There is a lovely atmosphere and a wide choice of activities to join in with. The Long Brock Residential Home has a lovely home-from-home environment and I have no concerns about the standard of care that Mum receives.

My mum is cared for with care and respect. This consistency and attention have enabled her to feel "at home" within a safe environment, and I feel she thrives as best she can. The leadership team lead by example and participate in the home's friendly and fun aspects of activities which are topical and seasonal. I would thoroughly recommend The Long Brook to any potential client and their families.

Mum was only at The Long Brook Residential Home for about 3 weeks and deteriorated very quickly and was moved to a nursing home specialising in dementia care. During her stay, she was exceptionally well cared for and I received a lot of advice from the home and associated pharmacist. I can’t speak too highly of The Long Brook - excellent home all round and worthy of 5 stars.

Mum has been at Long Brook since December 2021. I can honestly say we couldn't have found a better home for our mum. Very caring, family-run home where nothing is too much trouble. Daily activities for the residents, excellent choice of menu and lovely presented gardens. All needs are met with kindness and dignity from all staff members. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Mum arrived 28 days ago after 2 years of living on her own with carers coming in 4 times a day and hardly ever going out or seeing anyone. Her physical and mental health deteriorated rapidly and as a family, we made the decision to move her into a residential home near me. We looked very carefully for somewhere we felt Mum would feel secure and happy and where the home would welcome her as part of their family. This we found in The Long Brook and Mum hasn't looked back. Almost immediately, we saw her improve immensely, from the initial warm welcome to the ongoing excellent care by friendly staff who have really befriended Mum. All her needs are catered for to a very high degree and she is actively encouraged to engage with all the wonderful events that take place every day, should she wish to. Mum, having been very reclusive, is now to be found chatting with other residents in one of the two comfortable sitting rooms, sharing meals with them, enjoying the garden and thoroughly enjoying the entertainment!

I have nothing but praise for Long Brook Residential Home. The building is light and airy and well furnished. The garden is also very welcoming with space to work and sit. I found the staff extremely friendly towards the residents and to each other, which you could appreciate. Also, the residents were welcoming, inviting you to sit with them and the activities gave interest to each day. Unfortunately, a diet problem, being gluten-free plus other food allergies I had, but I was catered for very well with the help of my daughters and the chef. If I needed a permanent home, I would not hesitate to ask for a room and hope they would accept me. Thank you. I feel stronger with your help and hopefully able to cope at home.
