The Orchard is a brand new residential home, offering exceptional care. It's set in a stunning location in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

The Orchard has fourteen very spacious individually designed and styled rooms, each with a walk in wet room. Each window offers far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. It has a beautifully planned lounge and conservatory area and this also benefits from the panoramic views.

The Orchard has outside patio areas where residents can sit and enjoy the views with family and friends. The gardens have been landscaped and planted with various shrubs and fruit trees that will offer colour and interest through the changing seasons.

Residents enjoy a rich schedule of activities that gives residents the opportunity to participate in favourite pastimes, learn new skills, venture outdoors and keep their minds and bodies fit and alert.

All the staff make me feel welcome on visits. Mum is always smart, clean and happy when she sleeps well. I always leave the home feeling mum is very well cared for which is comforting for my family. To many names to mention re the lovely staff.

My sister moved into The Orchard Care Home (OCH), just over a year ago, at a very difficult time in her life. My sister was welcomed by all staff members, including ground staff E.g. Handymen and gardeners. She received the best care that she needed, and continues to; in addition it is the best care
we could have ever wanted for her as a family. OCH have done all they can to support her, on a personal and emotional level, and by taking her out to different activities. Friends and family have observed since my sister has moved into OCH, she has become more independent and learnt many skills i.e. Interpersonal and craft. My sister is very happy at OCH and in her own words 'would not want to move to anywhere else'. To echo my sister's view - as a family we highly recommend OCH to anyone.

As a family we are extremely happy with the care that my grandmother receives. The care and attention the staff give is outstanding and my grandmother definitely feels as if it is her home. The food is excellent and plentiful, rooms are clean and kept tidily, and there are plenty of activities the
residents can do, if they choose to. My grandmother has had many health issues and the home have been fantastic in looking after her. I would highly recommend The Orchard as it is small, modern and homely, and the residents are respected as individuals, and cared for with compassion.

Dad settled in at The Orchard very quickly following a very difficult time in hospital. I cannot praise the team enough for the professional and caring work they have done. Dad is happy and content and feels safe and relaxed. The Orchard is an amazing care home.

I can't praise the care home highly enough. They have brought her back from the end in hospital several times from end-of-life treatment to keep her going. Staff are very caring and are always very cheerful and welcoming when I, my daughter and my labrador dog go visiting, hoping to get a flicker of
recognition even at this latest, final stage of dementia.

My aunt has been at The Orchard since September last year and the care she receives is outstanding. The whole team are caring and compassionate and ensures they get to know their resident's likes/dislikes and go out of their way to make it a home from home. They also provide wonderful support to the
families. The surroundings, activities and food are all excellent but what makes it are the staff. I can’t thank them enough.

In the time my mother has been at The Orchard she has had her up and downs health wise and the staff have been absolutely first rate. Latterly she has become more integrated with the other residents and enjoyed more of the activities provided and in particular a display of birds of prey where she had
a gauntlet on with a hawk perching (lovely pictures!), additionally a trip to the pub for a meal and a glass of wine was obviously also thoroughly enjoyed by her. The management team are always very approachable and willing to help and advise as I live abroad and can't visit as much as I would like. But the main thing for me is that she is happy.

I would have no hesitation in recommending The Orchard Care Home and should I need to go into a care home myself, I would choose to be here.
Having seen various care homes, there is no comparison. The Orchard excels in all areas. The lovely, airy, sunny building in a stunning setting, rooms are spacious
with pristine en-suite facilities and the extremely caring staff who cared for my mother-in-law and also for us as her relatives became like family in a short time. My mother-in-law was treated with dignity and as an individual, as were the other residents, of which there are only approximately fifteen.
The food is excellent, freshly cooked and plentiful. Activities are provided almost every day and these are interesting, stimulating activities ranging from music and arts and crafts to visits by birds of prey! Not just your standard bingo and such.
Visitors' pets are welcomed and give the residents much joy.
I am just so glad we chose The Orchard for my mother-in-law, enabling her to have first-class care during the last few months of her life and for us to know that she was safe and comfortable.
