A lovely home for my mother for the past five years. The staff are all lovely and welcoming, facilities and activities are great. It really is a home from home for my mother with home cooking and fresh baking daily.

I cannot thank the genuine kindness and compassion from all staff when my beautiful Nan was a resident. They went above and beyond for both Nan and our family and we will be eternally grateful to them all x

I would have no hesitation in recommending The Orchard Care Home and should I need to go into a care home myself, I would choose to be here.
Having seen various care homes, there is no comparison. The Orchard excels in all areas. The lovely, airy, sunny building in a stunning setting, rooms are spacious with pristine en-suite facilities and the extremely caring staff who cared for my mother-in-law and also for us as her relatives became like family in a short time. My mother-in-law was treated with dignity and as an individual, as were the other residents, of which there are only approximately fifteen.
The food is excellent, freshly cooked and plentiful. Activities are provided almost every day and these are interesting, stimulating activities ranging from music and arts and crafts to visits by birds of prey! Not just your standard bingo and such.
Visitors' pets are welcomed and give the residents much joy.
I am just so glad we chose The Orchard for my mother-in-law, enabling her to have first-class care during the last few months of her life and for us to know that she was safe and comfortable.

Thank you all.

Such a wonderful welcoming care home. My mother spent a short time at The Orchard. The staff were so caring and pleasant. Helping to make her life wonderful. It's a place I would definitely go to if needed. Plenty of different activities from going out in the minibus for trips to visits from birds of prey, singing and much more. The food is excellent and all freshly cooked. Everything about The Orchard is brilliant, even down to looking after relatives of residents. Really can't fault them.

My stepmother has been a resident for several years. I can honestly say that the care provided to her over the years has added years to her life, and life to her years. The staff are always attentive and interested in my stepmum's needs and wants, and their patience seems limitless. The warm atmosphere at the home is pleasantly informal, but always professional. The response for urgent care, hospital visits, relations with doctors, etc. is fantastic. The staff intentionally foster a friendly but professional relationship with my sister and me. Particularly with my sister, who provides the "outside" care on a regular basis. The care home's high level of performance in all areas affords us great comfort and confidence that my stepmum is being looked after very well.

I thought I had chosen well in selecting this care home for my mum so I booked mum in for 4 weeks respite. After 3 weeks had passed, visiting her 10 times in that period it became very apparent that what they presented was not what occurred behind the scenes. My mum had to be removed early for her health and safety. Her personal care was not consistent and her compression dressings on both legs were constantly applied incorrectly. She sustained an injury due to not being accompanied by a member of staff. Medication was not administered correctly and she was left in her room without toilet roll. Activities did not happen as promised. I was told that I needed to telephone the home each time prior to visiting, which I felt only allowed them to prepare mum before I turned up. Mum is very happy in another home now and I can visit her whenever I want unannounced which proves that the new home has nothing to hide. Overall an experience I wished I had not put my mum through at The Orchard.

Mum has been very well looked after since arriving at The Orchard, with staff consistently showing great attentiveness and care towards her. This is such a lovely size and setting for a person who has been deeply attached to her home and to the locality for over 50 years. We could not have hoped for a more suitable setting for her, as she is among a small group of residents, which creates a very homely feel. The staff are very caring, not only to my mother but to the rest of the family as well - we are always made very welcome.

Both my wife and mother are residents at The Orchard which speaks for itself concerning my view of how they are looked after. I have only praise for the care and attention they both receive. Every member of staff is dedicated, considerate, thoughtful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Mum recently celebrated her 100th birthday and the staff did everything possible to make it a special day. If you are looking for a care home for a loved one then look no further and count yourself incredibly lucky if you manage to obtain a place.

My father has been at "The Orchard" for over two years. All of the staff are amazing with him and have been from the beginning as he progresses through his illness. I have witnessed, at first hand, the interaction and feel he gets the stimulation he needs. The manager and all the staff are extremely approachable, and I would highly recommend this home and have already! Thank you for everything you do!

I cannot speak more highly of The Orchard Care Home. The staff are amazing and the care given to my aunt has been superb. They are professional but also so kind and patient. My aunt's time at The Orchard enabled her to have her independence in a safe, loving environment. My family are forever grateful that the manager agreed and was willing to help my aunt during a very difficult time. Well done everyone.

A very personal place, which comes from it being more intimate due to its size with only a few residents.

My mother is a fiercely independent 94-year-old lady who is mentally strong but physically not so strong. She has resided at The Orchard for nearly two years. I speak on behalf of my siblings when I say how happy we are that she is so well cared for by the dedicated staff who go above and beyond their daily jobs to ensure her good health and happiness. We love "The Orchard Press" and insight into the varied activities offered.

My father has been a resident at The Orchard for four over years and the level of care is the best it's ever been, under the current manager and her team. The care is personal, individual and family are welcomed, within current guidelines. The facilities are of a high standard, with plenty of activities and a great choice of home-cooked food. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home.

My mother is a resident in The Orchard and has been for the past few years. I am very happy with the standard of care given by the care team and over the past 12 months during the Covid period, the team have gone above and beyond to keep my mum and all the other residents safe, comfortable and stimulated. The Orchard is a safe, clean, friendly and caring home with a good management and staff.

Excellent two weeks respite care. Mum settled in well and loved the whole experience, made friends, went out on the minibus for lunch and was recognised by some of the care staff from her previous role. It was a really good experience for her and helped the family immensely to know that she was getting such good care in a lovely environment. Thank you.

My mother has been here since February 2019. On arrival, she had sustained several falls with a head injury and multiple bruises.
Since being cared for here, she has not fallen or is bruised.
Both her nutrition and pressure area care is attended.

Prior to admission and falls, she was anxious and depressed. She is now smiling.
