What can I say but excellent, especially the manager and her staff, so helpful, friendly and caring.
The staff at the day centre were kind, caring and understanding. As a social worker of over 35 years, I have seen every type of professionalism and I must say the Manager is outstanding and helps to provide a happy and relaxed atmosphere. The person that I took to the centre has dementia and high anxiety. She was also reluctant to attend, however, after much understanding she now has a happy time and said she hadn't laughed so much in years.
My mum has been attending the day centre for about a year now and it has had such a positive effect on her life. She is so happy to go and she enjoys the care and attention she gets, as well as the multitude of activities which she always thoroughly enjoys. The staff are all positive and so helpful. Mum takes time to trust people but she loves all of the staff who treat her with respect and love. The manager is excellent. She always takes a phone call and never hurries the conversation regarding my mum. The whole team are a credit to the centre and we, as a family, could not be happier with them all.
I find Mills Meadow Wellbeing Centre a very happy place.
The team, under the management, do an excellent enthusiastic job under trying conditions. I can only thank them sincerely.
I often deliver an angry, confused or sad person to them and yet she always returns happy and smiling. She gets welcomed like a loved relative and cared for exactly as I would want.
The manager and her team are lovely, warm people and could not do anything more to make it better. Worth every penny.
I could use just two words, absolutely wonderful. My partner has been attending the day centre now for about three months. I have found all the staff to be so caring, friendly and professional, my partner can be very challenging in his behaviour at times and although his dementia has taken a downturn, he is treated with dignity and respect at all times. The manager has given me so much help and support, I don’t know how I would cope without that and the information she has given me. Going to the centre is quite a scary thing for my partner because he is not able to remember the previous visits but he is always met by one of the carers who welcomes him in such a friendly, cheerful way that I can actually see him relax. The atmosphere as you go in is happy, cheerful and frankly amazing. I want to end by saying a big thank you to all the staff and my congratulations to you for finding such a fantastic manager. Thank you.
We do painting, questions to test our memory, music lady comes, plenty of games, baking, keep fit on TV, flower arranging, knitting. All are very kind and understanding.
Knowing my husband is safe and being very well cared for allows me to have some quality time to recharge my batteries.
Spotlessly clean lots of entertainment.
My father is a type 1 diabetic with Alzheimers and dementia and is cared for 24/7 by my mum. We wanted to find a place for him in a day centre where he could take part in appropriate activities in a safe environment. After calling in at Mills Meadow and being made so very welcome by the manager, I knew we had found the right place.
Dad's had 3 days so far and the difference is so noticeable. When we arrive, he is greeted with a cheery hello and a hand and is completely "at home" within minutes. The staff are thoughtful to each person's needs and cater quietly to ensure each person is comfortable. They have experienced the many faces of Alzheimers and quickly worked to understand what dad can and can't cope with and made adjustments to suit. When we arrive to drop dad off there is laughter and on picking him up, the laughter still rings out and we join in - fantastic.
The staff are excellent. No complaints. It's a godsend. The day manager deserves special praise!
My elderly mother has been attending Mills Meadow Wellbeing Centre twice a week since March this year and has always received the warmest of welcomes and very best of care. The staff provide a wide range of stimulating activities in a friendly atmosphere which mum enjoys. I am always reassured that the staff know mum and understand the need for reassurance for someone with dementia. A wonderfully supportive team of caring staff, for those attending the day centre and relatives also.
The staff in the day centre are out of this world they are so caring and look after my husband and other people so good.

Meet the Team (1)

It was the highlight of my career to be named manager of the Mills Meadow Club and I’m determined to make it a happy, inviting place for local older people to meet. We treat everyone as an individual and take the time to finding out what they like to do and organise enjoyable activities to suit everyone.
Our day club is a great way for older people living independently to get together and enjoy meaningful activities for as long as they wish. At the Mills Meadow Club we’re all about making people smile, supporting them to have fun, and ensuring that they always go home having had a fulfilling day.
