My mum resided in Poplar House for the previous 4 years.
She was unfortunately confined to her bed but the reception staff would sometimes pop in to say hi and would call in the intercom each day.

She was unfortunately confined to her bed but the reception staff would sometimes pop in to say hi and would call in the intercom each day.
I also know the kitchen staff were prepared to bring food to her room if required (sadly she wasn't able to each the generous portions due to her dexterity issues).
From my experience I always found the reception staff welcoming, friendly and helpful (especially Irina and Shanaz).
I also found the cleaning staff were friendly and cheerful and always seemed to be industrious.
The kitchen staff on the rare occasion I ate there, were also usually friendly and cooked very decent food (especially for the price).
Finally Emma and Karen were always helpful and ready to answer any questions from a managerial perspective).

Im so happy my mum is in such a caring and supportive environment. Special mention to Charlotte for which nothing is ever too much trouble.

My brother lived here for over 2 years until, sadly, he passed away in August 2025. My brother was taken ill one morning, and the staff were so caring and supportive to my brother beyond what you would normally expect. They have always been so kind and helpful while my brother lived there for 2 1/2 years at Poplar House. They couldn't do enough for us all, especially during the sad time of his passing away. They should be recognised for their hard work and dedication.

I visited on 26 August after travelling from Scotland. This is the first time I have seen my friend who previously lived in another care home where he was burgled 4 times. I was very impressed and relieved to find him in such a lovely facility. Everyone there was so caring and attentive, I left with renewed confidence knowing he was safe and had such great in-house support.
