Conventionally, care homes are made up of several staffing roles. Managers, team leaders, senior carers, general carers, chefs and activities coordinators each have different responsibilities when it comes to caring for residents and running the home. With this traditional approach, employees are responsible for their duties only, which can result in a divided and unconnected team.
At Worthington Lake, they think there is a better way. Their whole team works together as one. Their home is staffed by a team of specially trained House Assistants. Aside from their Home Manager, there is no hierarchy in place. House Assistants work with a number of residents each day and are responsible for – and capable of – providing any kind of care, support and assistance.
