The staff and residents at St George Care Home welcomed their new manager; Ken Bishop, who took over the running of the Bristol based care home this month.
Ken has had a wealth of experience in his varied career, having come from a military background as a Royal Navy diver and medic, before leaving in 1995 to work for the NHS. He later qualified as a Registered General Nurse before moving into elderly care home management in Cornwall and most recently moving to Bristol to take up this post at St George.
It is important to Ken that those in his care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining control and having the ability to chose the care and support they receive.
‘I feel privileged to be able to make a difference to people’s lives every day. If I am assured that the residents and their families are happy with the care they are receiving then I know I am doing my job right. I am looking forward to working with and supporting the residents in a variety of ways.’
