A Ludlow Care Home pulled off an amazing double result when it was not only voted Care Home of the Year Midlands and Wales, but then competed against all national regional finalists to be acknowledged as the National Care Home of the Year 2025

Hendra House, which is situated in Sandpits Road, provides accommodation and “Outstanding” Care for its 28 elderly residents. Caring UK Awards event director Dominic Musgrave said: “The Caring UK Awards are now in their eighth year and with more entries received than ever before and each of our finalists really had reason to celebrate as it’s a huge achievement to have been selected as a finalist and is testament to the teams behind them.”

Hendra House was chosen by an expert panel which included National Care Association executive co-chairman Nadra Ahmed CBE and Sanjay Dhrona and Ruth French from The Outstanding Society, who decided the winners in each category from a shortlist of eight. The award ceremony was held in front of almost 500 invited guests in Leicester with finalists coming from all parts of the UK at the event hosted by Central Weather Presenter Des Coleman.

Vince Burmingham, owner of Hendra House, said: "To win the ultimate award by being the best of the best is an amazing achievement and truly recognises the efforts of everyone connected with the home."

A dozen staff joined Vince and his wife Gill at the awards ceremony sharing the excitement and atmosphere of the prestigious awards ceremony.
