Staff and residents at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home in Stamford Bridge invited neighbours and friends from the local community to a "cool" new twist on their free weekly community café.
Taking place every last Monday of the month from 10.30am – 12pm, the usual gathering, received a special upgrade with a visit from a classic ice cream van. Residents and guests will have the chance to meet and chat over tea, coffee, and homemade cakes, with this month’s edition having the added treat of a fresh ice cream to enjoy in the sunshine. Guests also had the chance to take a tour of the home and ask any questions they might have about care.
One resident at the home, Brian, shared their excitement: “There is nothing quite like the sound of an ice cream van to bring back happy memories. It’s such a treat to share a flake and a chat with new faces from the community—it really makes the morning feel like a party!”
General Manager of the home, Emma Smith, said: “Our Community Coffee Morning allows individuals from the local area to meet and connect with one another regularly. It’s a great chance to share stories and make new friends. We wanted to add a bit of summer magic this week with the ice cream van—it’s the perfect addition to the wonderful spread provided by our hospitality team!” Stamford Bridge Beaumont is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.
