The team at Highfield Care Home in Tadcaster, run by Barchester Healthcare, are throwing open their doors on Tuesday 9th June from 9am until 4pm and inviting carers into the home for a complimentary facial or hand and arm massage with Caroline Darnbrook from Tropic Skincare to celebrate National Carers’ Week. Residents want to thank all the wonderful staff at the home, whose hard work and dedication make a real difference to the lives of those living in their care.

Carers Week is an annual event to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges carers face, and recognising the contribution they make to our residents, families and communities throughout the UK. The theme for Carers Week this year is ‘building carer friendly communities’ to improve recognition and support for Britain’s 5.8 million unpaid carers. Carers Week aims to raise awareness of the challenges carers face, acknowledge the vital contribution of carers and encourage them to seek support.

Rebekka Richardson General Manager said: “We’re really looking forward to celebrating our wonderful carers and thanking them for all that they do for our residents. It will be lovely to welcome friends, families and the local community into our home, please do come along and join us on 9th June from 9am onwards.”

Highfield Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals. Highfeild Care Home provides residential and dementia care for respite breaks and longer term stays.
