CARE HOME RESIDENTS ENJOY MEMORABLE DAY OUT AT ALNWICK GARDEN

Residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to Alnwick Garden, taking in the stunning scenery and attractions during a day blessed with lovely weather.

The visit gave everyone the chance to explore the garden’s famous fountains and vibrant floral displays, with residents especially enjoying the colourful flowers throughout the grounds. One of the highlights of the day was seeing the breath-taking cherry blossoms in full bloom, creating a beautiful and memorable setting for the trip.

A particularly joyful moment for many residents was the opportunity to go on the garden swings beneath the cherry blossom trees, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone involved. Residents also enjoyed a relaxing picnic together in the sunshine, making the most of the warm weather and spending quality time outdoors.

The trip provided residents with a fantastic opportunity to socialise, enjoy nature, and create special memories together.

Marjorie, resident at Chester Court said “I never thought I would go on a swing again, it was amazing. It brought back memories from when I was a child. I used to live in Durham and I had a friend called Betty. She had a swing in her garden and I didn’t. She used to charge 1 pin to have a go on the swing so I used to take the pins out of my wire hairbrush so I could go on her swing.”

Anne, resident at Chester Court said “My favourite part of the day was going on the swings. I asked if I could push one of the carers on the swing, I got to push Karen it was good fun, we were all laughing. It brought back memories of pushing my daughter on the swings when she was a child.”
