My mother was admitted to Coniston Court for assessment after a two week stay in hospital following a fall at home. She was frightened and confused when she arrived and was still quite poorly. The staff at Coniston Court welcomed her and reassured her from the beginning. The manager is always available
and is really hands on and runs the home with great attention and care regarding residents, the staff and family members.
All the carers were so kind and compassionate and treated her not only professionally with the care she needed but also as a friend. She received a lot of hugs when she was frightened or confused and was encouraged to take part in the daily events and entertainment which were also excellent. In particular her nurse, was incredibly kind to mum during her entire stay. Mum loved the food there which was excellent and of a really high standard. We will always be grateful to everyone there who helped the whole family through a very difficult time.

Chose Coniston Court for a number of reasons.
1. Recommendations from relatives of residents.
2. Clost to our home so can make daily visits.
3. Weekly fee more reasonable than other local homes.
4. Very impressed with home manager, nurses and carers.
My wife has now been in Coniston Court for 10
weeks and I cannot fault the place. Super caring staff, excellent food, likes and dislikes catered for. For me and my wife it ticks all the boxes. Entertainment for residents several times a week.

My Dad came into Windermere in April and from day one the staff have been amazing. I felt confident every time I left that my Dad was being cared for and looked after. Sadly I lost my Dad at the beginning of June and the compassion shown by the team was so lovely. They were kind and supportive and really
cared for my Dad right up until the very end always showing him dignity and respect. They looked after me too, always offering me tea and biscuits and being supportive on the hard days. I am so very grateful to them all.

My son has been a resident at Buttermere House for 10 years and is so happy there. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make him as happy and comfortable as possible. Whenever we visit him we are really warmly welcomed and the house seems buzzing with activity. The care he receives is outstanding.
The carers arrange outings for the residents and tailor these to the needs of each individual there. The house is located in amazing grounds and is purpose built so that there is plenty of room for wheelchair users as well as those who can walk. We are in no doubt that he is very happy there as when we see him (weekly) he is healthy, happy and contented.

After a traumatic conversation which resulted in hospital admission, I was more than glad to see my brother back at Windermere.
Here he is well looked after with extensive care. The problems coming from his hospital visit will soon be rectified now he is safely home.
We look forward to enhance entertainment
shortly. More suitable to the type of residents, not children.

I stayed for Sunday lunch which was a leek and potato pie with garlic bread. It was served piping hot, well-presented, excellent portion served by a member of staff with great grace and care - as if in a proper restaurant. Best of all, it was full of flavour - lots of cheese! Pudding was pineapple and
cherry cake with custard - delicious. A lovely day - thank you chef and staff!

Right from the start of our experience with Windermere, the staff were all clearly dedicated to their residents and to ensuring their stay was as enjoyable as possible. They were very kind to my mother while she was there and always patient and understanding, with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble
and the overall ethos was relaxed and easy-going. The staff were keen for residents to be able to enjoy all of the many facilities and to have the freedom to do as much they they were able to while they live there. The management were always very understanding and helpful and responded to queries very promptly. The overall standards and the setting of Windermere House are lovely.

The gentle, kind and peaceful attitude of the staff is backed up and provided by a diligent professional manager. The home went to great lengths to ensure that Mum was cared for in the best way possible way. Most of my contact was with the manager. Regular phone calls and updates on Mum's progress and
all questions answered to my satisfaction. Thanks to Manager.

My daughter has lived at Buttermere House for over ten years and she loves it there! It definitely is her home and she loves being part of the "Buttermere family". The manager is amazing and you can tell how much she cares for all the residents and she runs the home very efficiently. All the staff are
so friendly and keep me up-to-date with everything relating to my daughter. The home is clean and tidy and if there is something to celebrate, an event, birthday, etc. the home is decorated and everyone joins in. The garden and surrounding area is amazing with so much space which suits my daughter as she loves being outside and going for long walks in a very safe environment.

I do not recommend Windermere House. My daughter was there from January to March 2024. It's such a shame that a negative review cannot be written as it is rejected. By only allowing positive reviews for care homes this does not reflect on the care your loved ones will receive and how unfair is that.
My daughter was not looked after while at Windermere House. We had to supply all equipment that she needed and trained the staff how to care for her. They advertise that they cater for brain injuries, the staff are not adequately trained. They also advertise hydro pool but this never had water in. My daughter was not treated with dignity or kindness. She is a young woman with two young children and had a stroke after her second daughter was born. The manager restricted the children's visiting times which was not fair or kind. Please don't be fooled how clean the care home is. It's behind the scenes which is hidden.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our service. We are deeply sorry to read about your experience of our home as this falls well below our usually high standards. Your concerns have been investigated and addressed internally to ensure this does not happen again. As part of our ongoing improvement of the service, we now have a new manager in place who has many years of experience of managing ABI services. We take all feedback and lessons learned seriously and a number of improvements have already been made.
