Have been so pleased with my husband's care since he arrived in April. He's happy most of the time and enjoys the care given by the staff, who are so caring. He seems popular too as he's quite a jokey person and both staff and residents enjoy his humour. Puts my mind at peace. Thank you.

Pear Tree Lodge Residential Home

My mother is a resident of Pear Tree Lodge and recently suffered ill health which saw her in hospital. We arrived from New Zealand early April after she had been released and spent every day with her over a 15day period, having the pleasure of interacting with staff and other residents.
We experienced
excellence at every level, there is a 'gentleness' in the interaction 'humour and respect' not only of staff with the residents, but also between residents themselves...this is 'home' and a 'connection of family' which is each other. It was clear that staff and management are here as their vocation, not just because it is a job.
I think the overiding factor is Pear Tree Lodge is small, having only capacity of 41-42 residents, the owners and management well experienced in the care and requirements of dementia residents, 'what lights them up, what makes a difference to each individual'. In New Zealand many care homes are 'corporate owned/operated', large and understaffed..

Dad was very reluctant to go into a home following eight weeks living with myself and my wife. The care home manager visited us to see Dad at our home. She was very caring and mindful of his situation. The care home staff, from the receptionist to cleaners and nurses, were superb and could not have
treated my father better. He soon settled in and joined activities. In a short period of time he considered Pear Trree Lodge as his home. On his passing the family were treated with the utmost dignity and respect.

My father has been living at North Bay for 5 months now and I cannot commend the home highly enough.
It's not an easy thing to find yourself needing to choose a care home for your parent, but right from our initial approach, their prompt assessment of dad and welcoming attitude has made the whole process
so easy. Dad was at a very low ebb when he came to the home and everyone has done their very best to make him feel at home and settled. He is well cared for and treated with compassion and dignity. Most importantly dad seems happy to be there. I have been struck by the warm family feel to North Bay. However, the best thing about North Bay is their wonderful staff. It is obvious that everyone, from management, nursing staff or care assistants really care about their residents.
I should also say that I am really grateful for the support the home has offered me, from practical advice, training opportunities and sometimes just for somewhere to cry and be told you are doing ok, too!

I felt really guilty placing my mum into a care home, but have been very happy with the way she has settled into this environment. This has given me peace of mind because of the caring staff and its good facilities.

Pear Tree Lodge provided my dad with outstanding support and care in the month he was there. From the day he arrived, he was treated with the utmost care and compassion. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food, cleanliness and entertainment programs were all thoughtfully put together. Sadly
he died whilst at Pear Tree Lodge, but as a family we can't imagine anywhere would have provided as much dignity and compassion to my dad in his final days and hours.

What can I say - from my first telephone call to now, I have had excellent rapport with the management and staff. Everyone is so caring and friendly. The care and attention my mother is receiving is second to none. Absolutely brilliant. I cannot praise North Bay House enough, their dedication to looking
after their residents cannot be faulted. They treat everyone (myself included) with love, dignity and respect. I am pleased I chose North Bay House for my mother to spend her later years.

Mother and Father-in-law moved into a double room at North Bay earlier this year. We could not be happier with the care they have received. Excellent home, fantastic staff, all second to none. The manager and her team could not have been kinder. Amazing care home in a stunning location, overlooking
the Norfolk Broads.

We visited the home while looking for a place for my brother, who has dementia. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the rooms and how spacious the inside and outside of the home was. My brother settled very quickly as is so well looked after. He has had trips out where
he has thoroughly enjoyed. There is regular communication and updates from staff, and we are always made welcome when visiting and all staff are very approachable and reassuring. It wasn't an easy decision to trust someone else with my brother's care, but from day one, he has been very happy, and it has made a huge difference to all our lives, knowing he has the best care, especially regarding his dementia.

After the previous experience of another care home which caused us as a family so much stress and heartache about my father's care, the truth is we were going in and caring for him. We are so thankful to have found such professional overall care for my father. We have been relieved of so much anxiety
ourselves. A beautiful family environment, full of love at North Bay House.

Always welcomed by name when visiting. Everyone knows the family as well as the person they care for. My mother is always clean, well-dressed and tidy. Her needs are always met as they change with her ageing. Permission is sought for changes to her care. My mother is very happy at the care home.

Dad spent four years at Pear Tree Lodge and I highly recommend this wonderful care home to anyone. Dad transitioned very quickly to residential care and this is very much due to their approachable and experienced manager and her team of very personable and well-trained carers. Pear Tree Lodge is a community
and Dad became part of that; they nurtured his love of music, sporting abilities and woodwork skills, embraced his sense of humour and gave him one-to-one support when he needed it. There is a smile for everyone at Pear Tree Lodge and you feel the warmth as soon as you enter the door. Pear Tree Lodge is exquisitely clean, the laundry always smells so fresh and Dad thoroughly enjoyed the home-cooked meals. With Dad's ever-changing Parkinson's symptoms, the staff's attention to detail was second to none, ensuring he received the best possible care for his condition at all times. Dad ended his days at Pear Tree Lodge, nursed, as always, with kindness, and compassion. Thank you.

Always greeted politely. All the staff talk to you and we talk to them. Any concerns are regularly informed and discussed. My husband is well cared for and seems happy and settled. He is always clean and tidy and we can walk around the home freely. The outside spaces are relaxing and attractive. I feel
he is safe and that they know and understand his needs. This means I can relax and not have the same worries and concerns that I had to cope with.

My husband spent two and a half years at Pear Tree Lodge and in that time he was exceptionally well cared for. It always felt like we were part of a big loving caring family. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always gentle and kind, not just with my husband but with all residents. I volunteer
now and the care is still as good as ever. Excellent place

For the final eighteen months of my wife’s life during which she endured, with great dignity, the competence-reducing effects of Parkinson’s disease and dementia, the management and staff of Peartree Lodge attended to her every need with truly exemplary, sincere concern. Consequently, when we had to
accept the end of her life in 2023, we were able to reflect on the time spent in Pear Tree in the certain knowledge that she had always received professional, yet personalised attention. We are so very pleased that we entrusted her care to Pear Tree Lodge. And, moreover, we wish to record the kindness shown to the members of our family who were present at Pear Tree Lodge throughout my wife’s final, vital days.
