Pear Tree Lodge is a luxury, family-run residential care home offering exceptional support for the elderly, including those living with dementia, disabilities, or other associated conditions.

Designed entirely on one level for ease of access and comfort, the home features 41 beautifully furnished bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities or modern wet rooms. Each room comes with high-quality furnishings as standard, including a profiling bed, wardrobe, bedside table with reading lamp, wing-back chair, chest of drawers, and television.
Residents are warmly encouraged to personalise their space with familiar items from home - whether it's dad’s favourite chair, mum’s cherished trinkets, or treasured family photos.

The home offers three inviting lounge areas: a quiet lounge for relaxation, a television lounge for entertainment, and an interactive space for social engagement. The spacious dining room overlooks an open kitchen, where in-house chefs prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily using locally sourced ingredients.

Outdoors, residents can enjoy two secure, beautifully landscaped courtyards - perfect for sunny lunches or peaceful afternoons. The wider grounds include a scenic pond, cosy seating Orbs for visiting with loved ones, and delightful entertainment from the home’s three resident alpacas.

Excellent home. Staff are all kind and caring. Activities provided are good and varied. Residents seem happy and interact well with each other, staff and visitors. My dad has settled here very well and I would highly recommend this home.

The team at Pear Tree Lodge show a genuine care and respect for the residents, taking time within their duties to engage and talk, taking a genuine interest in the conversations. The facilities are wonderfully clean and the outings seem fun. There is an environment which encourages residents to get

Have been so pleased with my husband's care since he arrived in April. He's happy most of the time and enjoys the care given by the staff, who are so caring. He seems popular too as he's quite a jokey person and both staff and residents enjoy his humour. Puts my mind at peace. Thank you.

My mother is a resident of Pear Tree Lodge and recently suffered ill health which saw her in hospital. We arrived from New Zealand early April after she had been released and spent every day with her over a 15day period, having the pleasure of interacting with staff and other residents.
We experienced
excellence at every level, there is a 'gentleness' in the interaction 'humour and respect' not only of staff with the residents, but also between residents themselves...this is 'home' and a 'connection of family' which is each other. It was clear that staff and management are here as their vocation, not just because it is a job.
I think the overiding factor is Pear Tree Lodge is small, having only capacity of 41-42 residents, the owners and management well experienced in the care and requirements of dementia residents, 'what lights them up, what makes a difference to each individual'. In New Zealand many care homes are 'corporate owned/operated', large and understaffed..

Dad was very reluctant to go into a home following eight weeks living with myself and my wife. The care home manager visited us to see Dad at our home. She was very caring and mindful of his situation. The care home staff, from the receptionist to cleaners and nurses, were superb and could not have
treated my father better. He soon settled in and joined activities. In a short period of time he considered Pear Trree Lodge as his home. On his passing the family were treated with the utmost dignity and respect.

Pear Tree Lodge provided my dad with outstanding support and care in the month he was there. From the day he arrived, he was treated with the utmost care and compassion. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food, cleanliness and entertainment programs were all thoughtfully put together. Sadly
he died whilst at Pear Tree Lodge, but as a family we can't imagine anywhere would have provided as much dignity and compassion to my dad in his final days and hours.

Very warm and welcoming and extremely clean.
All staff and management are very caring and welcoming.

We visited the home while looking for a place for my brother, who has dementia. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the rooms and how spacious the inside and outside of the home was. My brother settled very quickly as is so well looked after. He has had trips out where
he has thoroughly enjoyed. There is regular communication and updates from staff, and we are always made welcome when visiting and all staff are very approachable and reassuring. It wasn't an easy decision to trust someone else with my brother's care, but from day one, he has been very happy, and it has made a huge difference to all our lives, knowing he has the best care, especially regarding his dementia.

Dad spent four years at Pear Tree Lodge and I highly recommend this wonderful care home to anyone. Dad transitioned very quickly to residential care and this is very much due to their approachable and experienced manager and her team of very personable and well-trained carers. Pear Tree Lodge is a community
and Dad became part of that; they nurtured his love of music, sporting abilities and woodwork skills, embraced his sense of humour and gave him one-to-one support when he needed it. There is a smile for everyone at Pear Tree Lodge and you feel the warmth as soon as you enter the door. Pear Tree Lodge is exquisitely clean, the laundry always smells so fresh and Dad thoroughly enjoyed the home-cooked meals. With Dad's ever-changing Parkinson's symptoms, the staff's attention to detail was second to none, ensuring he received the best possible care for his condition at all times. Dad ended his days at Pear Tree Lodge, nursed, as always, with kindness, and compassion. Thank you.

Always greeted politely. All the staff talk to you and we talk to them. Any concerns are regularly informed and discussed. My husband is well cared for and seems happy and settled. He is always clean and tidy and we can walk around the home freely. The outside spaces are relaxing and attractive. I feel
he is safe and that they know and understand his needs. This means I can relax and not have the same worries and concerns that I had to cope with.

My husband spent two and a half years at Pear Tree Lodge and in that time he was exceptionally well cared for. It always felt like we were part of a big loving caring family. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always gentle and kind, not just with my husband but with all residents. I volunteer

For the final eighteen months of my wife’s life during which she endured, with great dignity, the competence-reducing effects of Parkinson’s disease and dementia, the management and staff of Peartree Lodge attended to her every need with truly exemplary, sincere concern. Consequently, when we had to
accept the end of her life in 2023, we were able to reflect on the time spent in Pear Tree in the certain knowledge that she had always received professional, yet personalised attention. We are so very pleased that we entrusted her care to Pear Tree Lodge. And, moreover, we wish to record the kindness shown to the members of our family who were present at Pear Tree Lodge throughout my wife’s final, vital days.

Pear Tree Lodge is a lovely peaceful home for people to spend their latter years. It is well run by the manageress, who is always available to talk to regarding any issues arising, but also just for a general chat. The staff are all very friendly and approachable, and seem to be on first name terms
with all the residents.
The home is always clean and smelling fresh and airy when you visit and all the rooms appear to be well-presented and maintained.
Residents are offered a wide range of activities, including days out to various places.
From my experience of the home, I cannot speak highly enough about the care given to all the residents and would thoroughly recommend Pear Tree lodge to anyone considering it for themselves or a loved one.

I have visited my friend several times since she has been at Pear Tree Lodge. Everyone is so kind and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. My friend has been able to join in some wonderful activities that she would not have been able to do at home.
I was invited to stay for lunch and the food
was very enjoyable and had lots of choices.
It’s very welcoming with a lovely atmosphere and always looks bright and fresh.
