The team at North Bay House are hard working, attentive & caring to all residents. My mother has received wonderful interaction with the staff and do their utmost to serve everyones needs i think they do a fantastic job!

Mum has been at North Bay for 3 years now, and has always been well looked after and cared for. The staff are communicative, caring and understanding to mum and our family whenever we visit.

I have been here 4 weeks and I have been treated so well. I have a lovely room. It's home from home. All the staff are really lovely. The food is really yummy and the homemade cakes. I have made so many new friends. I love my new home.

Pear Tree Lodge cared for my mother in the last 6 months of her life and its worth saying that she had the best care we could have hoped for. She was very frail and needed considerable help and support. Although I wasn't there as often as I would have preferred I personnally witnessed the care and attention my mother received and I'm very grateful to the staff who cared for her right to the very end.

My mother in law moved to North Bay in April 2025, a place she had worked for a number of years before retiring from there. She soon settled in to her new home due to the welcome she received from all the staff and management, we cannot fault the care and attention she receives nothing is too much trouble and we are made welcome every time we visit her.

Mum has settled in very well and is receiving the best possible care. The whole experience has been very reassuring.

Very happy with the care given to my mother since she came April 2025 especially since she has been ill this past few weeks. Very happy with the home and staff.

Mum only moved into this home as they said they could take her dog. Standards/safety appalling, she had no stimulation, was malnourished, left unsafe as equipment regularly not plugged into the mains system. There were serious safeguarding issues raised after an assessment, the owner had to step in and actually work, she made me remove Mum's dog causing extreme physical and psychological distress. They promoted a culture of promoting her independence but within 1-2 weeks she was dependent on them!

Excellent home. Staff are all kind and caring. Activities provided are good and varied. Residents seem happy and interact well with each other, staff and visitors. My dad has settled here very well and I would highly recommend this home.

The team at Pear Tree Lodge show a genuine care and respect for the residents, taking time within their duties to engage and talk, taking a genuine interest in the conversations. The facilities are wonderfully clean and the outings seem fun. There is an environment which encourages residents to get to know one another which is positiv,e enabling relationships to be developed.

Have been so pleased with my husband's care since he arrived in April. He's happy most of the time and enjoys the care given by the staff, who are so caring. He seems popular too as he's quite a jokey person and both staff and residents enjoy his humour. Puts my mind at peace. Thank you.

The staff are always very helpful and pleasant. The carers are sympathetic to the needs of the residents and keep me informed if any concerns.

I think the overiding factor is Pear Tree Lodge is small, having only capacity of 41-42 residents, the owners and management well experienced in the care and requirements of dementia residents, 'what lights them up, what makes a difference to each individual'. In New Zealand many care homes are 'corporate owned/operated', large and understaffed..

Dad was very reluctant to go into a home following eight weeks living with myself and my wife. The care home manager visited us to see Dad at our home. She was very caring and mindful of his situation. The care home staff, from the receptionist to cleaners and nurses, were superb and could not have treated my father better. He soon settled in and joined activities. In a short period of time he considered Pear Trree Lodge as his home. On his passing the family were treated with the utmost dignity and respect.

I should also say that I am really grateful for the support the home has offered me, from practical advice, training opportunities and sometimes just for somewhere to cry and be told you are doing ok, too!

I felt really guilty placing my mum into a care home, but have been very happy with the way she has settled into this environment. This has given me peace of mind because of the caring staff and its good facilities.

Pear Tree Lodge provided my dad with outstanding support and care in the month he was there. From the day he arrived, he was treated with the utmost care and compassion. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food, cleanliness and entertainment programs were all thoughtfully put together. Sadly he died whilst at Pear Tree Lodge, but as a family we can't imagine anywhere would have provided as much dignity and compassion to my dad in his final days and hours.

He feels like he is home!
