This is s truly outstanding nursing home. The staff looked after my mother and father exceptionally well; they were both treated with the greatest dignity and were given friendship and wonderful care. When my parents moved in they were understandably trepidatious, but Kathy and her staff quickly settled
them in and saw them through to their ends. I will be forever grateful. A friend of mine is now there and she is receiving the same levels of thoughtful compassion. The place is superbly well run. There is excellent staff retention. It is traditional in its values and in its atmosphere. The gardens are beautiful. I have only the warmest memories.

Mum has been a resident at Abbots Leigh since January 2026. Mum has a lot of needs which requires nursing care. We are a large & close family & we've all found the staff so attentive & caring - nothing is too much trouble. We feel at peace mum is in the best place which provides a warm, friendly
, caring professional , safe & calm environment . Kathy the home manager is friendly & approachable. All the staff are very friendly & helpful. The home provides entertainment for all the residents , despite mums disabilities they involve her in all the activities . The meals are plentiful , offering a menu choice to suit all dietary requirements. The rooms are all comfortable & clean. From day one mum was made to feel welcome , cared for , comfortable & at home. Overall I would highly recommend Abbots Leigh.

Mum has been at Abbots Leigh Manor for 8 months and her experience has been excellent. I can't recommend it enough! Don't be put off by the lack of slick marketing and sales.

The manager Kathy, reception staff, carers, nurses, cleaning staff and activity coordinators are wonderful. Everyone is

friendly and calm and my mum said she immediately felt safe and cared for.

The gardens are truly wonderful and every room has a beautiful view. Mum's room is comfortable and she loves going to the dining room for lunch and tea and chatting to new friends.

The activities are on every day morning and afternoon and are great fun and very inclusive. Every couple of months there are professional entertainers who are great to watch (I've been there for several performances!). Mum loves the art activities.

I pop in all times of day and its always welcoming. I do mum's hair in the onsite salon, but there's also a weekly hairdresser.

I recommend a visit. You won't regret it!

When my wife's health started to deteriorate she always said that the only place she wanted to go was Abbots Leigh. She has now been living there for the last 10 months and was helped to settle in by all the very kind and caring staff. Everyone is so welcoming from the minute you arrive at reception
and it always feels so homely with visitors able to pop in at any time.
The activities are great and so well led and coordinated by all the team; we value these so much for creating such a stimulating environment for the residents.
All in all, what could have been a very difficult transition has been made so much easier by Kathy the manager, and every member of the team. Thank you.

Our first visit to see my brother, went very well. We had a lovely welcome from the team. It all looked very clean and tidy.
We were taking to see my brother ,who was sat in the lounge with a few other people. My brother was happy to see us, and seemed to have settled in well. All the staff were very
kind and soon had us a cup of tea.
We were very happy with our first visit.

A new routine started this week, a dessert trolley taken around to the residents so they can now choose from the trolley after lunch.
A thoughtful, kind gesture and visually colourful. It is one of many small acts of respect and kindness that is shown to the residents.

A wonderful place for my mum, very homely with incredible staff.
The food is a high standard and mum looks well fed.
I hope that with the good weather coming the staff will be able to take mum out into the garden as much a possible for a change of scenery as sitting in the lounge day after day can
be tough to see.
All in all, very happy with our choice to put mum at Stainsbridge House. Wouldn't change it for all the tea in China!

My brother does not have dementia/Alzheimer's but other support needs that mean he cannot live independently. Since he moved in he has settled in really well and loves being looked after by all of the carers and support staff. Everyone is very supportive towards me and my family and go out of their
way to be helpful by being informative and only too pleased to help in any way. My brother misses his friends in Chippenham but, he is well adjusted to life in Stainsbridge House and takes part in all the various activities. My daughters and I are indebted to all the staff for looking after him so well and being so friendly to us. They are all incredibly nice people and I am delighted we were able to get my brother in such a caring and professional environment.

Mum has been a resident in Stainsbridge House for almost 4 years. She settled very quickly and has always been supported to choose as much about her day to day life as she is able. She is encouraged to join in group activities where she is able.
As particularly her mobility has failed, she has been
fully supported to continue to spend her time with other residents enjoying the general bustle and activities in the communal areas.
She particularly enjoys the delicious home cooked food particularly fish & chips on Fridays. Her general health has remained stable, largely due to the excellent care provided and timely intervention when it's been needed. Mandy the manager is excellent and very supportive to both residents and their families, maintaining very good communication with me. Stainsbridge House really manages to achieve the feeling of it being the residence home, somewhere they feels safe, secure and respected. All the staff are kind and caring and work hard to create this feeling

Since My step mum was taken to this home ,what can i say but, she is a different person, When she arrived she was in a total state of confusion after having a bad fall at home.
The staff were just amazing with her, they listened to her and helped her from day one, now 6 weeks on she is like a totally
different person , she laughs jokes , walks un aided and seems to be back to her normal self (still forgetting a few things,But thats her age ) Over the years i have visited this type of home and i just have to say THANK you for being so patient, they never over do things and they keep her wanting to get on , unlike some that leave their clients to sit and dream. Her room is without doubt a room with a view and she loves it.
I would recommend them fully to anyone who is looking for a HOME that CARES.

My father was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2019. He lived alone in Essex, and I bought him over to Abbots Leigh Care Home in July 2022 after several falls and a cataract op. I had looked at several other homes and knew they would not be suitable. Abbots Leigh came highly recommended by a close friend.
It took Dad some months to settle, but the care and kindness of staff; the relief from chronic loneliness; long talks to Carers in the early hours of the morning; the resident cat, beautiful gardens, 2 ponies to visit and home cooked food slowly helped him relax. Dad was never going to be one for 'activities' but he loved the concerts and visits by children. He was encouraged to find his own way to feel at home and found a spot where he could sit and chat all day to staff and passers by. As he relaxed he would laugh and joke and tell long (often fanciful) stories. Yes, of course there were bad days, but I never regretted the move from Essex and the fact that Abbots Leigh made Dad's last years as good as they could be.

Mum and Dad both in their 90's moved to Abbots Leigh Manor in July 2024. Mum with Cognitive impairment and Dad with heart problems. Unfortunately Dad passed in September 2024. During his short stay he was looked after by various members of staff who were all caring and compassionate. The home manager
was always available to us during this difficult time. Mum has stayed in the home and all the staff helped her settle in after the passing of her husband of 70 years. Abbots is in a great location with both the home and extensive gardens are well maintained. The activities staff work hard to engage with the residents to make daily life in an old peoples home as varied as it can be. Any issues with mum are recorded and promptly communicated to me. My wife's employment required her to visit most of the homes in the Bristol area and cannot she cannot think of a better place for my mother to be. I would not hesitate to recommend Abbots leigh Manor.

I cannot fault the care provided at Abbotts Leigh. Each and every member of staff seems to take ride in their work and show nothing but kindness to residents.
My sister has now lived there for nearly 8 months and is settled and content. Her room is beautiful and always clean and fresh. She eats well
and has even gained a little weight. As a family we could not ask for more. I visit 3 or 4 times a week and am always greeted with warmth.
