Overall Experience

I have been a resident at Abbots Leigh nursing home on three separate occasions for periods of six months or more receiving respite care.
Prior to Abbots Leigh, I spent time in two other care homes nearby and neither were able to offer the quality of care and attention that I now receive.
The food

is fresh and plentiful with choices at every meal. I enjoy a full English breakfast, cooked lunch and homemade soups in the evening.
I feel very fortunate to have found this nursing home and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Overall Experience

This review is well overdue so thought it was time to put pen to paper so to speak.
My Dear Mother spent over 18 months at Abbots Leigh Manor until her passing last September, she had been very happy during her stay and had a wonderful room overlooking the garden and green fields beyond (always trying

to spot the occasional deer in the long grasses). She thoroughly enjoyed the food especially the roast lunches on a Wednesday and Sunday, she was regularly asked if she had any particular favourites not listed on the everyday extensive menu and if she had the chef would kindly oblige. She loved the beautiful well stocked gardens and loved to take part in the Wednesday garden club which is extremely popular with the residents.
During the end of Mum's life, the dignity, respect and care shown by the staff was exceptional and a great comfort to me during that very difficult time.

Overall Experience

Glad Mum is cared for here. The room is homely and cosy. She's not demanding but feels a little more attention would do no harm considering she pays the same amount as residents who are completely dependable on carers. She's left to her own devices a lot of the time and moans to her offspring which

we can't do anything about. We do our best to make her feel happy but the food is the main issue. It's bland and simple so she looks forward to us taking her home-cooked meals. We aren't a family to judge but for the money to stay here things could be improved.

Your mother joins in with our activities most days but if she decides to stay in her room we must respect her wish to do so but we encourage her to attend activities whenever she's in the mood. Our cook has regular conversations with your mother about her food likes and dislikes and your mother tells us that she's happy with the meals she receives but we will continue to engage with her about her food choices. We give your mother small portions because that's what she requests.

Overall Experience

Our father was admitted from hospital for end-of-life care. Dad's room was large, airy, bright, and beautifully decorated with wonderful views of fields.
He was cared for by the very best carers one can find. Kind caring respectful and diligent.
Dad passed in the most dignified and respectful way.

As a family, we thank all the staff for first-class, exceptional care. Thank you.

Overall Experience

We needed a care home ASAP as my 90-year-old father had declined in health rapidly. I called Lampton House first as it was the closest to my parent's home. The manager was so kind, helpful and reassuring and confirmed they had a room available. Forms were emailed immediately, and I was able to pop them

back in person that day. To cut a long story short, we were able to take my father in that same evening. He was very well looked after, and the whole team of staff were so lovely and kind. Sadly, my father passed away just two weeks later, but we as a family were so grateful that he was well cared for by such an excellent team... so thank you so very much for being there at such a sad time.

Overall Experience

My mother moved into Abbots Leigh Manor Nursing Home in January 2022 and was there until her death in September 2023. I never thought she would settle into a care home, having lived independently until the age of 92, but she very quickly grew to love life at Abbots Leigh and once told me: "It's the

best place I've ever lived". The staff are unfailingly kind to both residents and families. The medical care is excellent. When Mum died, the staff reacted as if there had been a death in the family, which was immensely touching. The rooms are beautiful and there are good views from all of them - either of fields or of the Bristol Channel.
A meeting was recently held in which residents were given a chance to vent any criticisms. No one could find anything bad to say and instead made a vote of thanks to the manager, followed by a round of applause. That said it all.

Overall Experience

My mother was a resident at Lampton House for the final year of her life. During this time, she became increasingly frail and confused. The manager and her team were excellent, welcoming the family and treating my mother with great kindness, compassion and dignity.
There were some frustrations on a

practical level. The rooms need to be cleaned more frequently and more thoroughly. Clothing sent to the laundry would sometimes disappear despite being named, and woollens would return shrunken. The lift was often out of order. I would like to emphasise that these were practical problems that by no means reflect upon the superb level of care given by the manager and her team.

My uncle choose to enter Lampton House more than three years ago. He instantly gelled with the manager and the rest of the care team - enjoying his time there and the excellent care he was given. He loved the food and was so impressed that if he wanted to he could choose an omelette! My uncle felt it

was homely and a caring place to be. As a widower, he had become lonely and frail and Lampton House gave him a good chapter in his life for his final days - Having just lost him, we shall be ever grateful to think he was well cared for and excellently looked after, especially in the unprecedented times of the pandemic. Well done all those at Lampton House, you certainly deserve a pat on the back.

Overall Experience

Lampton House cared for my mother for 15 years, from when she was unable to look after herself at home due to poor mobility and confusion, though her general ageing and deterioration, and eventually her death.
Throughout all these years she was well cared for, always comfortable, well fed and confident

in her environment.
All the staff have always been welcoming to visitors and it is clear they care for all residents with calm compassion whatever there care needs may be. From the wine at Sunday lunch, the splendid Christmas dinner and homemade birthday cakes with singing every year they provide a very homely welcoming place

I only have good words for all of the staff, they made my mother's last years happy and secure.

Overall Experience

My mother was a resident of Lampton House care home for 9+ years until her death in March 2021. During this time she received excellent care from a dedicated care team under the excellent leadership of their manager. The home provides a good range of daily activities which my mother never missed, especially

the quizzes and music. Mum suffered from acute anxiety following the death of her husband of 60 years prior to becoming a resident at Lampton House. The staff at Lampton House managed mum's anxiety very well and enabled her to have a meaningful and fulfilling life. It was very difficult not being able to visit mum during the Covid Lockdowns, although daily phone calls to mums room, video calls and regular updates from the manager maintained contact and provided reassurance. The end of life care mum received was exemplary nursing care as well as the respect and dignity shown towards her and our family especially during her last week when we were able to be at her bedside.

Overall Experience

My mother resided at Lampton House for 9 years. She was very happy and always felt safe. The level of care given by the manager and her team was excellent. All staff shows residents respect, care, and patience. The days are well structured which really suited mum. Mealtimes were good, tasty, and healthy

food was served, always an important part of her day. A wide range of daily activities were always enjoyed, especially the quizzes.

Overall Experience

When it became obvious that my mother would need full-time care, I visited Lampton House in January and knew straight away that it would suit her. I was proved right. My decision was also informed by the latest CQC inspection report which rates Lampton House as Good in all areas.
Unlike many care homes,

Lampton House is a characterful place with a homely, family feel. My mother had a lovely room looking onto the garden which soon became her favourite place, especially as the weather was so good this year. My mother also enjoyed some of the many activities which are organised by the staff. I loved getting the newsletter and seeing photos of my mother enjoying herself.
The manager and staff work as a wonderful team which has been tested to the full this year. At no point did I feel the level of care had dropped. If you are considering a care home for a relative, I recommend Lampton House without any reservations. Pay a visit - meet the manager - I am sure you will be impressed.

Mum has been at Lampton House since the beginning of March.
The management and staff have gone above and beyond in the care and time they have given to mum.
Since the COVID lockdown, the video calls have been amazing to me and my family.
The staff are caring, helpful and have a positive attitude

towards residents.
Mum is very happy at Lampton House.

Overall Experience

Lampton House is a friendly and homely place; it is run efficiently and is staffed by cheerful, genuinely caring individuals who all appear to enjoy the work.
My mother moved here for a period of convalescence when she was discharged prematurely from hospital immediately before Christmas; our family

was very grateful to the manager for accepting her at very short notice. She regained her physical health quickly under the care she received here; her relatively complex medications were handled well by the Lampton House team and the local medical practice who seem to work well together. She is now able to move on to an alternative care arrangement with a lower level of support but we would certainly suggest a return to Lampton House in the future if she needs it.
Anyone thinking of moving here long-term should be aware that cognitive decline often accompanies physical decline and although the activities on offer are appropriate to the majority of residents, some might find them insufficiently stimulating.

Overall Experience

My mother went into Abbots Leigh Manor Nursing Home in September 2017 and lived there until her recent death. She remained mentally alert but had restricted mobility and stage 4 Kidney Disease.
The facilities are excellent and throughout her time at Abbots Leigh, my mother experienced the highest

quality of care. We were impressed by the effective way that the nursing staff worked with local GPs in needs and provided a caring, supportive environment that she appreciated and valued. Abbots Leigh also benefits from an active community life providing a stimulating environment. In her last days, we were impressed by the compassion she received with individual carers remaining at her bedside. Abbots Leigh helped us greatly with the practical and emotional difficulties of the period leading to her death. We would have no hesitation in recommending Abbots Leigh to anyone seeking a nursing home for an elderly relative.

We were very lucky to get my mum a place here during my dad's final illness. The staff go out of their way to be kind and helpful to residents and visitors alike. Unfortunately, but understandably, my mum reacted badly to her husband's death and had to be moved to a more appropriate hospital. During

this very difficult time, the staff and manager of Lampton House went out of their way to be supportive to mum and us, her children, we are very grateful. This is a very well managed and caring home and I would recommend it to all.

We were lucky to find a respite bed at Lampton House for my 92-year-old Mum who was recovering from a fall. The staff, without fail, were kind and caring and took very good care of her. She was only just beginning to take part in the activities when she returned, but I was impressed with the range and

quality that was on offer. We would have no hesitation in returning to Lampton House again if the need were to arise.
