I can not recommend this Nursing Home enough. All the staff are caring and attentive. They not only look after him but all his family as well. The Medical Nurses are excellent as are the carers. We feel we can speak to anyone if we have any concerns or worries.

My father had a fall in the CH a couple of Months ago this resulted in a # NOF, and a stay in hospital. The CH were excellent in allowing dad "home" as soon as possible, they accomodated dads additional needs in every way that they could. I cannot speak highly enough of the home.

As a family we were all so worried about our mum having to go into a care home, honestly we are so thankful she is in pottles. Pottles is a small home from home , care home .Where each resident is treated as an individual with outstanding care and good leadership, this is given to all . The food is wonderful and my mum being a vegetarian is not a problem at all. They have a fantastic companion support worker , who is so amazingly creative and engaging to everyone.

My husband moved into residential care after 8 months day care which he had enjoyed so the changeover was straightforward initially but after a few weeks he began experiencing difficulties in settling into his new home. The staff have been very patient with him through this period and are currently working with the doctor and mental health team to ease his issues. I have been welcome to visit regularly and made aware of what medication is being used and why. I have had my own issues with separation from my husband and your manager has given me a lot of comfort and reassurance which has helped me move into a new and different relationship. I have been able to move away from being my husband's carer and back to being his wife. As I have come to know staff and residents I feel I have gained a whole new family.

My mum moved in to Summercourt in May this year and has settled in so well. This is down to the friendly staff who are always available to help. Mum has been cared for extremely well, the personal care, food and activities are excellent and she is very comfortable in the communal areas. Lovely garden area to sit outside for a cup of tea. Mums room is always clean and tidy.
The management team have been excellent with updates for me and are extremely approachable, I know mum is in safe hands.

Overall, my review would be rated as good. There are exceptions, both negative and positive. The property itself is an old building with all the issues that an old property has. It is kept clean and tidy but the owner needs to look at a major revamp to bring the facilities into the 21st century. The facilities are adequate but no more. There is a core of excellent care staff but too many “bank carers” at times who do not have knowledge of the client's needs. All care homes seem to have a high turnover of staff, but, the core staff at Pottles were very caring and conscientious. Not all the staff being recruited, whilst very pleasant, had a working knowledge of the English language which can hamper the care and understanding when dealing with dementia patients and the hard of hearing. Hopefully, an education programme is in place.
The telephone system used to keep in contact with the clients is poor, particularly when it’s the only way of keeping in touch during an illness outbreak.

Thank you, we always appreciate individuals taking the time to give their feedback, we are pleased that your overall experience was a positive one. It's a great opportunity to share with you how things have changed in our service since late last year. Since gaining a new owner and Area Manager, we have started to make some much-needed improvements to the home. This includes trying to solve the issues with the phones. Your mention of having a 'core of excellent care staff' brings a sense of pride to the carers and management, thank you for that. Since last year, we haven't needed to use back/agency staff. It was a struggle while we adjusted to the aftermath of Covid. I am happy to report that we no longer have a high turnover of staff due to sponsorship, and we have an intensive program for all new members of staff.

Having struggled viewing local homes for my father of 86 battling with Alzheimer's. We landed upon Pottles Court in Exminster. The deputy manager greeted us with a warm understanding manner, making us feel so at ease at such a horrible confusing, guilty time. Places at Pottles are always in high demand and at no point did we feel any pressure to commit to a room. The journey she took us on from suggesting rest bite to give us the reassurance somebody else could take care of dad as well as we could, was the key to making us understand he was in the best place. Through out the year dad has been a resident, we have witnessed how the excellent care and understanding they provide has settled him in nicely. Seeing daily, the same hard working team, joking and laughing make Pottles feel like a real home. Dad enjoys the lovely home cooked meals that are provided and has put on weight. I continue to sing the praises of the hard work and commitment the staff provide.
We recommend Pottles Court highly.

The Brookfield staff looked after my Mum for the last 9 months of her life. The level of care was excellent but the thing that impressed me most was the way they made my Mum feel part of an extended family at the home. Myself, my Dad and any other family and friends visiting were treated in the same warm, welcoming way. Although it was a very sad and difficult period for us, we still managed to have some laughs, fun and quality time with Mum and we could always leave safe in the knowledge that she was in good hands, getting the love and dignified care she deserved.

My father was a resident for 16 months until he passed away very recently. The rooms are very clean and tidy and there is a very homely atmosphere. The Management Team are excellent and the staff very understanding and caring, taking time to talk with family. The staff were also very obliging with hospital visits and very kind during father's last illness.
I would not hesitate to recommend the Home to other potential residents.
