My mother has been a resident now for over 2 years. She has been treated with a lot of care and dignity by all staff. The carers go over and above to help and care my mum. All the staff from management to carers are excellent.

My mother was a resident for 13 years. It became my second home and when she died, peacefully at 97, I stayed in touch with the staff and continued to visit all the special events. I attended one yesterday, it was a thank you party for those who litter pick the road to the property.
The cakes were
up to the usual high standard and the hospitality was excellent. Whenever anyone visits you are offered a cup of tea. The staff remain welcoming and supportive. When I arrived a musician was entertaining the residents and there was lots of laughter. So nothing has really changed, it is still a safe and friendly place for relatives and friends who need support in later life. Thank you for what you do so well.
Reply from Lyn Willetts, Secretary at Lapal House Residential HomeThank you so much for your kind words, we look forward to your next visit.

My mother was very comfortable and well cared for at Grange Hill House and regularly told me I'd picked a good place for her. The home has a welcoming, hospitable atmosphere, not at all clinical , and I found all the staff I met to be friendly and helpful. The home is spotlessly clean throughout and
the gardens are a treat ; Mum enjoyed the food, the activities and outings , and the company.
Staff kept me informed about her health and care needs , arranging for a doctor to see her when appropriate; her end-of-life care was caring, calm and patient, with no fuss .
The staff are clearly professionally well trained and managed , nothing's too much trouble for them and they go out of their way to make sure residents are well looked after and made to feel at home . I never had the smallest quibble about any aspect of Mum's stay there.

I never had any concerns about the care my late uncle received from Grange Hill House. All staff were friendly and well trained to offer him the support and personal care he needed. Grange Hill House provided plenty of activities to keep resident stimulated including day trips to local attractions.
I always felt reassured that my uncle was comfortable, well looked after and in safe hands. Grange Hill House is set in well maintained gardens where my uncle would enjoy sitting outside in the summer months. All rooms, both communal and personal bedrooms were well decorated, clean and tidy. They offer a varied menu each day and take into account specific dietary requirements. I would definitely recommend Grange Hill House to anyone looking of accommodation for a loved one.

My aunt was looked after very well at Grange Hill by caring, considerate and professional staff. We were kept well informed of any issues that arose. The home had a welcoming and warm atmosphere and we felt confident. My aunt was in safe and caring hands.

Amazing care home. The staff which includes the gardeners, cleaners, laundry, cooks and absolutely the carers are the most caring loving people whom you would want your relative around. They can not do enough for my nan. They are so attentive. Please give them all a payrise. My nan has been there for
3 years now and she is so happy, which in turn makes me happy. Thank you so much lapal x

My dear dad resided at Grange Hill House for 3.5 years. During this time he was treated with the utmost care and kindness. The home has lovely surroundings and gardens where the residents and families enjoy activities with staff or just to sit out and have a cup of tea/coffee during the warmer months.
Dad enjoyed the food, loved the activities, entertainment and minibus outings, especially the fish and chip lunches and afternoon teas. Any concerns with Dad's health were acted upon quickly by the relevant medical team. The management and staff were also always available to discuss any concerns. During a short stay in hospital at the end of August, doctors informed the Grange that Dad required palliative care, without hesitation, the requirements were put in place by the Grange and Dad was cared for during his final days with dignity, love and compassion by everyone at Grange Hill House. We have always been made to feel part of the Grange Hill family and would have no hesitation in recommending Grange Hill House to anyone.

Our dear Mum resided at Grange Hill House for almost 3.5 years. She loved the surrounding gardens and the locality and enjoyed the activities and minibus trips when she was well enough to participate. Mum thoroughly enjoyed it when choirs came to perform or when people came to play the piano, sing and
dance. She loved talking to residents and staff when they had the time. The staff were kind and caring to Mum and were welcoming and friendly when family visited. As Mum struggled more and more to wash, shower and dress herself, carers helped her. During the last few weeks of her life, the care Mum received was excellent, they ordered her a hospital bed, ensured she was comfortable and checked her every 30 minutes during the last week. She was treated with love, dignity and respect. As a family, we were so grateful that they enabled dear Mum to stay in her room and not have to go into hospital, which was her wish. The staff and management were so kind and supportive to the family during her last few days. Thank you so very much.

We have nothing but praise for the care and treatment given to our elderly (100 yr) next of kin by the staff at Grange Hill House, and for the courteous way we were treated whenever we visited.
She was always treated with dignity and was encouraged to participate fully in all activities.
When medical
help was needed, it was sought and acted upon quickly and efficiently and she was monitored in a timely manner. We were kept informed of any concerns or problems.
When a stay in hospital was needed and it became apparent that palliative care was required, the senior staff requested that she be returned to 'her home' (their words) as they wanted her last days to be spent where she felt at ease among people she knew.
The staff organised all the equipment and specialist care required to make her remaining days as peaceful as possible.
We have recommended the care home to friends looking for a caring, clean and thoughtful environment, always willing to go the extra mile.

My sister was a resident at Grange Hill House for five and a half years. The staff knew her very well, encouraging her when needed, caring for and supporting her as her needs changed. Although my sister was not necessarily a 'social' person, she enjoyed sitting in the lounge and going on the various
trips and meals out. She often said how fortunate we were to have 'found' Grange Hill House when she could no longer care for herself at home. It was certainly a 'weight off my mind' to know that my sister was being loved and cared for in this 'home from home'. Friends who visited have said they would wish to live at Grange Hill House should they require care in the future. There can be no higher recommendation!

My mother-in-law was a resident of Grange Hill House for nearly 12 years. This, in itself, is testimony to the care and attention she received during that time. The Grange was her 'home' in her later years. Importantly, she was happy and secure in her surroundings. She was always treated with dignity
and respect. The management and staff were always friendly and accommodating. Any issues, of which there were few and of a minor nature, were dealt with promptly and with understanding. Everyone is approachable.
There are good facilities together with many varied activities, days out, etc. Which the residents can participate in, should they wish to do so.
Based on our experience I would have no hesitation in recommending them to any other prospective residents looking to join the 'Family' at Grange Hill House.

Mum stayed for around 18 months at Grange Hill House where she was well looked after and cared for. She enjoyed spending time in the lounge, joining in the activities and chatting to other residents, making new friendships. Mum always commented on how good the food was. We found the caring staff and
admin staff proactive and helpful and from our visits, it was clear they provided a happy and comfortable environment for all residents. Excellent.

This is the 2nd time we've visited our very dear friend who is now a resident of Grange Hill House and, on both occasions, we were greeted by various members of staff and carers as if we were old friends with each of them.
On arriving we were taken to see our friend, given a cup of tea/coffee with
biscuits, taken with our friend to see her room and spent a really lovely couple of hours with her, remembering the years we've known one another and things that have happened over the years. When we went last time we sat in the lounge with her, again with tea/coffee and biscuits, but this time a gentleman had brought farm-made ice creams for everyone including us and these were absolutely mouth watering to eat.
All in all our friend has settled in at the home really quickly and all the staff treat the people residing there as if they were family members which is why it gives me great pleasure to give them such a good review.

My parents-in-law have been well looked after in Lapal House for the last four years and counting. They have a spacious room with patio doors to the outside. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They always provide tea and biscuits when we visit. We can phone and email if we have any concerns.

This care home was selected from a range of other options four years ago! At the time, this was judged by the carers who looked after my parents as the best in the area. My view after four years of visiting my parents is that this care home provides excellent service and care to my two parents (of 95)
and always gives exceptional support to myself and my brother and sister, who visit fairly regularly. Overall, an excellent place of care.

too. I know that if there are ever any issues with my nan they will call me straight away.

My dad has been in Lapal House Residential Home since August 2021. At 89 years old he had previously lived by himself but was at the stage where he wanted to be nearer to family. Lapal House encouraged his independence and quirky ways and enabled him to remain fairly self-sufficient with three home-cooked
meals a day! He actually put on weight and they would cook/provide him with home-cooked meals and nutritional drinks if he didn't feel like eating. They called an ambulance when needed as well as the GP when concerned. I am a senior nurse with have high standards and they couldn't have done more to look after my dad.
