We recently needed some respite care for my husband and Prestwood Coach House was recommended to us. Right from the initial telephone call to Lisa everything was dealt with swiftly and efficiently. We viewed the home and were very impressed with the care and facilities that were offered. My husband
spent a week there in June and received the upmost care during his stay. All the staff made him and myself very welcome and it was a great comfort knowing that he was receiving the care and attention he needed during his stay. Respite care isn't easy to come by so we feel very lucky that we found this lovely home and will definitely be using again and recommending to anyone else who may need this service. Thank you
Reply from Melissa Hunter, Director of Care Services at Prestwood Coach HouseThank you so much for your wonderful review.

My mom found herself in a position where she required temporary respite care following an extremely badly broken wrist. Her friend had used Prestwood twice for respite and couldn't praise it highly enough.
Mom felt comfortable, accepted and at home more or less straight away.
She commented daily on
how kind, caring and considerate all the carers were. Food was of quality and plentiful. The activity girls also worked extremely hard, there were crafts, exercises, bingo, singers, quizzes, mornings out..etc. They did their very best to get all the residents involved. Every carer always wore a smile, which goes a long way.
My mom is now back at home. But I know there are parts of her that miss being there, she really did feel like she was part of the Prestwood family.
Thank you so very much....everyone.
Reply from Tina Harris, Manager at Prestwood LodgeThank You so much for taking the time to review us at Prestwood Lodge, it is incredibly heartwarming to hear how wonderful your mum's experience was with us.
Your kind words highlight exactly what outstanding care should look like and for us it's great to hear that we are delivering this excellence.
Genuine Warmth: Carers who smile and make residents feel like family.
Vibrant Atmosphere: Dedicated activity teams keeping spirits high with crafts, quizzes, and outings.
Comfort & Care: High-quality food and a safe, welcoming environment.
We miss you all and the laughs we all shared, wishing you all the best of health for the future, however should you ever need us you know there will always be a place here for your Mum.
Heartfelt Regards

On February 1st 2025 my mom who had been seriously ill in hospital was discharged and moved into a lovely room in Prestwood Coach house care home .. over the next few months due to excellent care she improved noticeably and enjoyed a lot of activities surprising myself and even the doctors .. she thankfully
saw the birth of another great grandson two mothers days two birthdays and another Christmas which I for one did not expect .. unfortunately her frailties eventually caught up with her and she passed away peacefully on May 11th this year .. I Personally cannot thank all of the Staff Carers Nurses and Management enough for giving me an extra 15 months with my mom and the exceptional friendly and Professional way that they looked after her . All good things come to an end but from me and my family a massive THANK YOU X

My mum stayed at the lodge for a weeks respite whilst I was away on holiday . The staff really did put my mind at rest that mum would be well looked after. She said every single member of staff was very caring and so kind, she said the food was plentiful and very tasty. She also enjoyed the activities
and especially the singer. She's already booked in for another week soon thank you

Mum has been a resident at Prestwood for over three years. The home has a friendly welcoming feel. Mum has a spotlessly clean room with a good view of surrounding fields. The care from staff is outstanding , they understand her needs and preferences well. Making sure she is happy. Care staff are warm,
friendly , approachable and supportive both to mum and to us as a family .
The activities at Prestwood are very varied. Mum particularly enjoys the crafts, animal visits and various outings to garden centres and recently to the safari park. The activities team work incredibly hard to find new varied activities, they currently have some quail chicks for the residents to watch.
The kitchen staff provide good meals , working well to accommodate mum's preferences and dietary requirements.
We are very happy with the care mum is currently receiving.
Reply from Melissa Hunter, Director of Care Services at Prestwood Coach HouseThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback.

We are delighted to hear that your mum has been happy and well cared for during her time at Prestwood. It is wonderful to know that she enjoys her room, the activities on offer, and the outings arranged by our dedicated team.

Our mom has lived at Prestwood lodge for approx 3 years. Never have we had cause for concern during that time. She is very happy there which to us is absolutely the most important thing. Mom regularly tells me how lucky she is to have such a lovely place to live. We agree.
All staff are kind and caring

All of the staff were very good. My father-in-law was never an easy person to live with or to be near. I would like to give a special thank you to Joy who helped greatly, especially when costs were transferred to social services. My only complaint was the exorbitant cost, which never got to the staff.
Reply from Tina Harris, Manager at Prestwood LodgeThank You for your care review, we were all very fond of your Father - in - law and continue to miss him greatly, i understand your feedback regards the overall cost of care you found to be quite exorbitant & would be disappointed to learn if these high fees did not reach frontline staff- i can reassure you that all front line staff receive an annual pay review, the cost of the care is reflected in the standard and expert delivery of care which i am very pleased to hear that your loved one recieved.

My Nannie moved into Prestwood lodge back in July 2025, it wasn't a planned move and if anything it was probably quite scary for Nan who had done everything she could to remain in her home. However Prestwood quickly put both Nan & us at ease. They went above and beyond to care for Nan and made us as
a family feel so comfortable and welcome with every visit.
In a short period of time Nan progressed back to walking, was washing herself and had a quality of life she'd not had for sometime.
Unfortunately my poor Nannie became end of life, all the carers were fantastic- if family weren't there they never left her side but they also provided so much love and support for me and my mom.
We can't recommend Prestwood enough and we will forever be grateful to all the staff. They really do go above and beyond and treat every resident with dignity, respect and love.
Reply from Tina Harris, Director of Care Services at Prestwood LodgeThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Prestwood Lodge.

We feel very privileged to have been able to care for your Nannie and to support both her and your family during such an important time. It's wonderful to hear that she felt comfortable with us and was able to regain some independence and quality of life-those moments are incredibly special to us as a team.

We are especially touched by your words about her end-of-life care. Providing comfort, dignity, and ensuring no one feels alone is at the heart of what we do, and we are so glad we could be there for both your Nannie and your family when it mattered most.

Your appreciation will be shared with the whole team, who will be deeply moved by your feedback. Thank you again for your trust-it was an honour to care for your Nannie.

My mother has been a resident for 4years and remains very happy since moving there. The staff are second to none, nothing is too much trouble and they are very patient with my mother and from what i have witnesed with all the other residents aswell. There is a comprehensive activities programme every
week, mom particulary likes the quizes, and very importantly the church service that is offered most weeks. I feel that it keeps her mind as active as possible. My brother has always been happy at Prestwood Coach House. He became unable to walk after Sepsis and I thought he would be confined a lot to his room, unable to enjoy the social aspect of the home and all the entertainment. In fact I thought he would be on his own a lot and very lonely.
Not at all
a hoist was ordered for a man of his weight and stature and every day he is up early, has all his meals with the other residents and takes part in all the great activities that are organised. The staff are wonderful and he is popular with them all. The entertainment staff organise and put on all different sorts of activities and it is obvious a lot of thought goes into this.
When he is not so well he is cared for and if he wants to speak to me they organise that too. It gives me great peace of mind to know he is happy and his sense of humour still flourishes to the full.
Thank you
Reply from Melissa Hunter, Director of Care Services at Prestwood Coach HouseThank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful and detailed feedback. We are delighted to hear that your brother continues to enjoy a fulfilling and active daily life at Prestwood Coach House.
It is particularly reassuring to know we have, enabled him to remain engaged with the community, enjoy mealtimes with fellow residents, and participate in the wide range of activities provided.
Your kind comments regarding our care and activities teams are greatly appreciated, and we will ensure they are shared with all staff. It is always our aim to provide person-centred care that promotes both wellbeing and independence, and we are pleased this is reflected in your brother's experience.

My Mum was resident at the Coach House for just over a year before she passed away. She was on an oxygen concentrator, however this was not an obstacle for admission. The Coach House is quite a small care home and has a lovely homely feel about it. Its more "home from home" than a care home and always
smells nice! The rooms have been tastefully decorated (most very recent) and Mum had her own shower room and kitchenette area. Overall she was well looked after, the care staff were attentive and made her feel at home there. Mum did not partake in the activities there due to her vidual impairment and anxiety, but the activity co-ordinators ensure a range of activities and outings are available. There is also access to a hairdresser and podiatrist. I would recommend the Coach House, its never easy putting a loved one into care but the team were reassuring and always able to answer questions or concerns.

My mum has been in Prestwood Lodge for nearly three years now. She was always very worried about ending her life in a care home but she has settled very well. I believe this is made possible as the staff are very well trained and experienced.
There is a comprehensive activities program and a hairdresser
on site each week. The staff are very good at styling too so when the hairdresser is away that is not neglected.
The home is very well kept with an active maintenance team and is therefore a pleasant environment to visit.
I have always found the staff there to be very observant with my mum - for example she would be unlikely to say if she was feeling unwell but they seem to spot this quickly and react accordingly. I have been very happy with the high level of care she has received and how this is managed in a caring and dignified manner.
Being well dressed is important to my mum and she always looks lovely and smart when I visit.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mom has been a resident for 8 years at Prestwood Lodge and I am extremely pleased and grateful with the level of care she has received since her first day, as is my Mom. The staff are genuinely caring and nothing is too much for them in regards to her care, she particularly enjoys having her hair
styled every week. They take personal hygiene very seriously including my Mum's own preference which is a nightly bath, her clothes are washed daily and hung in her wardrobe for her each night.
The cleanliness of the home is outstanding, as you could expect from a high range hotel. My Mum has also commented on how tasty each meal is, along with a varied menu.
