We recently needed some respite care for my husband and Prestwood Coach House was recommended to us. Right from the initial telephone call to Lisa everything was dealt with swiftly and efficiently. We viewed the home and were very impressed with the care and facilities that were offered. My husband spent a week there in June and received the upmost care during his stay. All the staff made him and myself very welcome and it was a great comfort knowing that he was receiving the care and attention he needed during his stay. Respite care isn't easy to come by so we feel very lucky that we found this lovely home and will definitely be using again and recommending to anyone else who may need this service. Thank you

On February 1st 2025 my mom who had been seriously ill in hospital was discharged and moved into a lovely room in Prestwood Coach house care home .. over the next few months due to excellent care she improved noticeably and enjoyed a lot of activities surprising myself and even the doctors .. she thankfully saw the birth of another great grandson two mothers days two birthdays and another Christmas which I for one did not expect .. unfortunately her frailties eventually caught up with her and she passed away peacefully on May 11th this year .. I Personally cannot thank all of the Staff Carers Nurses and Management enough for giving me an extra 15 months with my mom and the exceptional friendly and Professional way that they looked after her . All good things come to an end but from me and my family a massive THANK YOU X

Mum has been a resident at Prestwood for over three years. The home has a friendly welcoming feel. Mum has a spotlessly clean room with a good view of surrounding fields. The care from staff is outstanding , they understand her needs and preferences well. Making sure she is happy. Care staff are warm, friendly , approachable and supportive both to mum and to us as a family .
The activities at Prestwood are very varied. Mum particularly enjoys the crafts, animal visits and various outings to garden centres and recently to the safari park. The activities team work incredibly hard to find new varied activities, they currently have some quail chicks for the residents to watch.
The kitchen staff provide good meals , working well to accommodate mum's preferences and dietary requirements.

We are very happy with the care mum is currently receiving.

My mother has been a resident for just over a year and is very happy here. The carers are so friendly and lovely, and she was made welcome from day 1.
There are a wide range of activities - Karen and Rachel ensure that there's always lots going on. The actual home is beautifully kept with gorgeous views.

Everything mother needs is well catered for with a friendly face. We made a good choice!

My brother has always been happy at Prestwood Coach House. He became unable to walk after Sepsis and I thought he would be confined a lot to his room, unable to enjoy the social aspect of the home and all the entertainment. In fact I thought he would be on his own a lot and very lonely.
Not at all a hoist was ordered for a man of his weight and stature and every day he is up early, has all his meals with the other residents and takes part in all the great activities that are organised. The staff are wonderful and he is popular with them all. The entertainment staff organise and put on all different sorts of activities and it is obvious a lot of thought goes into this.
When he is not so well he is cared for and if he wants to speak to me they organise that too. It gives me great peace of mind to know he is happy and his sense of humour still flourishes to the full.

Thank you

My Mum was resident at the Coach House for just over a year before she passed away. She was on an oxygen concentrator, however this was not an obstacle for admission. The Coach House is quite a small care home and has a lovely homely feel about it. Its more "home from home" than a care home and always smells nice! The rooms have been tastefully decorated (most very recent) and Mum had her own shower room and kitchenette area. Overall she was well looked after, the care staff were attentive and made her feel at home there. Mum did not partake in the activities there due to her vidual impairment and anxiety, but the activity co-ordinators ensure a range of activities and outings are available. There is also access to a hairdresser and podiatrist. I would recommend the Coach House, its never easy putting a loved one into care but the team were reassuring and always able to answer questions or concerns.

My father was a resident of the Coach House for over 2 years. The care he received was second to none. All the staff were lovely and so very helpful. The entertainment programme was varied and there was something for everyone, Dad particularly enjoyed the pub night in and the live singers. The kitchen staff worked hard to provide a wide range of delicious meals and birthdays were celebrated with a cake. Special diets were also catered for. The bedrooms are large and well equipped, and the grounds are beautiful. I would highly recommend the Coach House and was pleased that Dad spent his final years in such a lovely environment.

My husband has just spent 2 weeks respite care in a very pleasant room with lovely views the caring staff were excellent bright and cheerful and he was looked after very well. He mainly stayed in his own room which was his own choice because of his condition but the staff tried very hard to encourage him to go into lounge full marks for trying. Food generally good served with a cheery smile personal care was good and very patient with him at night which was his difficult time.

Many members of my family have stayed at Prestwood over the years always been a good experience

We were so lucky as a family that Prestwood Coachhouse could take our Mom - they literally saved her and us! Following a stay in hospital, then a step down discharge to a 'sadly' not so great care home, we moved Mom very quickly to Prestwood. From the very first point of contact to the sad passing of our Mom our family simply cannot praise all of the staff enough. Whilst it was a short stay and Mom was unable to take advantage of all the lovely things that went on she was so well looked after and we as a family were made to feel welcome as we did spend every day with her. For the last few weeks of Mom's life she was happy and comfortable. We cannot thank them enough for everything.

My godmother had visited friends at Prestwood House for many years before becoming poorly and was always impressed with the level of care and interaction given by all the staff she met. After a short illness she was happy to know she would go to Prestwood for a couple of weeks respite and within a couple of days had asked if she could stay permanently which she did for a few weeks until passing. My job has taken me into a number of care homes over the years and I can honestly say this is one of the best I have ever been to and would highly recommend.

My mother moved into the Coachhouse in September 2024 following a stay in hospital. Sadly she passed away in May 2025. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay at the Coachhouse. The standard of care throughout was first class: each day she looked forward to the varied and tasty menu. She was encouraged to participate in the wide range of daily events and activities on offer including visits out to local garden centres. We were always made very welcome as visitors. As a family we were very grateful to all at the Coachhouse for making her final days as comfortable as possible and shortly after her death planing a shrub in her memory aided by her 6 year old great granddaughter. We would not hesitate in wholeheartedly recommending the Coachhouse.

I had 1 week respite at Prestwood Coach House. Prior to the respite, the staff carried out a full assessment to check out what help I would need. They also checked out any preferences that I had and answered any queries. I had excellent care throughout my stay. The staff were very thoughtful and approachable. I always felt comfortable with staff helping me with personal care. Food was very good and there was always a sufficient amount and a good choice. Visitors were also made very welcome. I had a very comfortable bedroom, with sufficient space to move around in my powered wheelchair. It was easy to speak to a senior staff member if needed.

My mother-in-law became ill and immobile during covid. We moved her from a home in the West Mids to Prestwood Coach House because we liked the feel of the home and the level of care and calmness that the home seemed to offer compared to her previous residence. She spent the final years of her life there and although she would always have preferred to be in her own home, this was a place that was fitting for her personality and health requirements. She ate like a queen, she always praised the food and the care that she received. There were plenty of activities for her but she was a more private person and preferred her room which was always comfortable and warm. When we couldn't visit her, the staff were happy to video call and she was jollied along as much as possible so she never felt lonely. We are very grateful to all the staff at Prestwood for making our mum's final years safe and comfortable.

Our Mom was a resident at Prestwood Coach House for 14 months, during her stay she had excellent care from experienced and diligent carers.
As her condition declined, the home responded to her changing needs, it was a great comfort to us that Mom was being well cared for throughout this period.

In terms of care packages, we don't think you will get much better than Prestwood Coach House, it was first class in all departments.

My mother was only at Prestwood Coach House Care home for 6 days. She had been discharged from hospital and could not go home. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The home is in a lovely country setting. Mom loved looking out the windows to see the birds and trees changing colour. There is an open house policy which meant I could turn up at any time night or day. All Staff were super friendly and very helpful. The home is well-equipped and very clean. Mom had difficulty eating and the chef made a special effort to cook food which she could manage. Nothing was too much trouble. Mom loved her stay and was very settled. Sadly her health took a turn for the worse and she was readmitted to hospital. (No fault of the home).

Melissa HunterJob Title:Director of CareJoined: 2023

I am a dedicated Director of Care with a strong belief that truly outstanding care begins with compassion, respect, and genuine human connection. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to placing individuals at the heart of every decision, ensuring that each person receives not just support but dignity, understanding, and a sense of belonging.

My approach is rooted in listening—taking the time to understand each client’s unique story, preferences, and needs. I believe care should never be one-size-fits-all, and I work closely with both clients and their families to create environments where people feel safe, valued, and empowered.

As a leader, I am passionate about building teams that share these values. I focus on nurturing a culture of kindness, accountability, and continuous improvement, supporting staff to deliver care that goes beyond expectations. I take pride in developing services that are not only high-quality and compliant but also warm, personal, and responsive.

Outside of work, I am a proud parent to two children, and I share my home with our dog, Hunter, who is very much considered my third child. Family life keeps me grounded and reinforces the importance of patience, empathy, and care in everything I do.
