Mum has been a resident at Pencombe Hall for 18 months. Mum has settled well, due to well trained staff and they have been very caring and they treat the residents with empathy and respect. The residents are given choices and are encouraged to join in the activities. When I go and visit mum the staff
always welcome me with a smile. I find Pencombe Hall a very welcoming place and as a family we have peace of mind knowing our precious mum is well looked after.

My Mum was discharged from hospital to Pencombe Hall in May 2025, for recuperation/rehab after an emergency hip replacement at the age of 98. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and reassuring, which was lovely as Mum had never experienced anything like this before. The care and support we both
received from Pencombe was second to none; thanks to that, after 6 weeks, Mum was able to return to living independently at home. The staff are unfailingly cheerful; the atmosphere feels like a (very!) large family or big group of friends at a hotel; there's a schedule of daily activities; and the food always looked good. I know Mum really enjoyed the meals. The Hall is a lovely old building; it doesn't feel clinical or institutional, and the decoration is immaculate, not even any wheelchair scuffs on the painted walls. Security is carefully enforced, but not oppressive. The care here is professional, compassionate, thoughtful and personal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pencombe Hall.

Lovely feedback that will be shared with staff. It always feels that bit special when we can achieve such outcomes and support people with their preferred choices, whether people stay with us or just want a some support from time to time. Many Thanks.

It was reassuring to meet and get to know the same staff each visit. As the manager seemed to motivate loyal staff.
The interior of the home was being redecorated but the exterior facade and sun terrace needed brightening up, eg: freshly painted window boxes.

Salford House

My mum, recently deceased, spent the last two years of her life at Salford House. She went there early in 2021, following a 3-month stay in hospital. The result of her illness, along with Covid restrictions whilst in hospital and before, was that she had deteriorated quite significantly both mentally
and physically.
The care she received from the minute she arrived at Salford House was fantastic, starting from how the staff helped her to settle into a strange environment, gently encouraging her to engage in activities and helping her to improve her mobility. She became happier and less stressed than we, her family, had seen her in a long time.
As Mum deteriorated towards the end of her life, we could not have wished for better care or more thoughtfulness regarding what was in her best interests. Thank you to the marvellous team at Salford House for giving Mum a loving home through to the end of her life.

Our mum has been a resident here since last year. She was not in a good place, having been in hospital for three months, but Salford House has turned her around; she is better than we've seen here in a very long time; she's laughing and smiling on every visit, and I can only thank the staff for their
friendliness and there approach to Mum. We never wanted to have her in care, but it was taken out of our hands, but if anyone is looking for loved ones to be placed anywhere, this is the place as the staff and management are so friendly, and they go that further mile for everyone. Our mum has Ceoloch disease, and the night Mum came into Salford's House, they bent over backwards to ensure she had the correct food. She is thriving and has gained some weight, and she has company by the bag fulls. Thank you to the manager and all your truly amazing staff!

My mother has been resident in Salford House for nearly a year, and at all times, has been treated with courtesy, kindness and dignity. All her needs are looked after wonderfully, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The house is always spotless but is still very obviously a home where staff and
residents chat and activities are numerous and varied. There is often the sound of laughter in the halls and lounge as staff mix with and care for the residents.
It was a hard decision to move her into residential care, but I know she couldn't be in better hands. The Salford House team have given both my mother and our family peace of mind. Thank you.

In the short time we have been going to Salford House, we have found the staff are very welcoming, regardless of how busy they are, and they always make us feel very welcome! They offer amazing care to their residents and always have little activities for them to do. The house holds a very friendly

When visiting, the staff are always friendly, approachable and lovely. I'm so happy my nan is at this care home. Not only does she get to stay in the village that she loves and be by her family, but they also love her in the care home. They break her days up, and she even started to do things she used
to love. She can't wait for the summer so she can get out in the garden area as she loves the plants and gardening. They break her days up by doing activities with her which is amazing to see everything she has done, and she loves the staff, which is a massive bonus. Nan has never been one to mix too well; however, at Christmas, it was lovely to see the other residents in the dining room and enjoying herself.
We, as a family, can't thank the staff for all their hard work and friendliness enough. So to you all, a massive thank you.
