Mum has been a resident at Pencombe Hall for 18 months. Mum has settled well, due to well trained staff and they have been very caring and they treat the residents with empathy and respect. The residents are given choices and are encouraged to join in the activities. When I go and visit mum the staff
always welcome me with a smile. I find Pencombe Hall a very welcoming place and as a family we have peace of mind knowing our precious mum is well looked after.

My Mum was discharged from hospital to Pencombe Hall in May 2025, for recuperation/rehab after an emergency hip replacement at the age of 98. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and reassuring, which was lovely as Mum had never experienced anything like this before. The care and support we both
received from Pencombe was second to none; thanks to that, after 6 weeks, Mum was able to return to living independently at home. The staff are unfailingly cheerful; the atmosphere feels like a (very!) large family or big group of friends at a hotel; there's a schedule of daily activities; and the food always looked good. I know Mum really enjoyed the meals. The Hall is a lovely old building; it doesn't feel clinical or institutional, and the decoration is immaculate, not even any wheelchair scuffs on the painted walls. Security is carefully enforced, but not oppressive. The care here is professional, compassionate, thoughtful and personal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pencombe Hall.

Lovely feedback that will be shared with staff. It always feels that bit special when we can achieve such outcomes and support people with their preferred choices, whether people stay with us or just want a some support from time to time. Many Thanks.

Excellent care and compassion were given to my aunt and us as a family. My aunt was extremely happy living at Pencombe Hall for 3 years. The staff are all very helpful, friendly, professional and caring. I would recommend Pencombe Hall to anyone looking for a care home.

Since Mum first came here in 2016 she has been exceptionally well looked after. The staff have always been caring and patient. We are notified immediately if there is any deterioration in Mum's health and always consulted.

It was reassuring to meet and get to know the same staff each visit. As the manager seemed to motivate loyal staff.
The interior of the home was being redecorated but the exterior facade and sun terrace needed brightening up, eg: freshly painted window boxes.

Mum did not have long in Pencombe Hall, but in the short time she was there, her care was exemplary. Her dementia left her very confused, but the staff at Pencombe were kind and considerate to her.

Mum was treated with respect and dignity when she was passing away. The staff are so lovely at Pencombe Hall just like a large family. Nothing is any trouble to them in the 18 months mum was here, we couldn't thank them enough.

My mother comes and stays here to give myself and my husband a break as I'm my mum's full-time carer. My mum lives with myself and my husband as my mum can't look after herself as she as vascular dementia. My mum as been coming to Pencombe Hall for just over a year now to give us respite. Mum loves
coming here, she thinks it's a hotel and always comes back really happy. Mum is cared for really well and the staff are very professional and very friendly and when I bring Mum or phone up you're treated as if you're a friend and I usually chat for ages. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum recently stayed for 3 weeks, it was initially a weeks stay but we were renewing our bathroom to make it easier for Mum and it took longer than we expected so the manager said it's no problem for your mum to stay longer. I would highly recommend Pencombe Hall and when the time comes I would not hesitate to put Mum in full time, it's such a lovely place.

Staff very good, caring and helpful. I wish the lift was in better working order!
It would be nice if more could be made of the gardens, ie: nice tables and chairs so residents could go out more, tidier garden and ramp maybe?

I need my comments to be prefixed by the fact that Pencombe Hall is not a purpose-built facility. The management and staff offer excellent care and support to my mother; they listen to my requests - act on them wherever possible. The home is spotless, and my mum is always clean and tidy, her clothes
are always washed on a very regular basis. She is happy with the personal care the home provides, and during normal times, there is a very good hairdresser.
