Eastholme Nursing Home

from Felicity B (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum moved into Eastholme following a fall and massive bleed on the brain that left her very confused and unsteady on her feet. She has been very well looked after by all staff at the home. They really care for their residents, spend time with them and make sure they are happy and feel loved.
The activity
programme allows residents to get out and about as well as taking part in a range arts and crafts. Residents can also meet four legged friends who come to visit as well as taking part in the occasional singalong!
Food is also good and the chef will go round in the morning to see what residents would like for lunch and dinner, which is thoughtful.
The staff at Eastholme have also been a massive support to us as a family, navigating this new normal. They are genuinely kind and have been there for us when events have been challenging - even inviting me to have Christmas lunch with mum.
Would recommend without hesitation.

In the two and a half months that my mum has been resident at Eastholme I have been totally happy with the care she has been receiving. The staff are very considerate and friendly in their approach. My regular visits are always welcomed and I am informed of any changes by phone call in between visits
if necessary. I could definitely recommend this nursing home!

All the staff are friendly and caring, treating my wife with dignity and compassion. Accommodation is comfortable but not luxurious although the fabric could do with some local refurbishment in certain areas. Furniture is basic but functional. Visitors are welcomed.

My mum has improved massively since staying at Sandbeck House. She's made friends, taken part in activities and generally seems much happier. The carers and staff are all lovely and nothing is too much trouble. So helpful. She was falling a lot at home and wandering at night. None of this since she's
been here. It's a weight off my and the family's minds knowing she's being looked after so well.

As the son of a resident at the care home I am very happy with the care my father receives. He always clean and tidy whenever I go to see him. The manager and staff keep me informed of anything I should know about and are very responsive if anything is not right calling in medical assistance when needed.
The staff are always happy and helpful if I am concerned about anything.

I have visited my friend at Fairhaven Care home for 3 years. On arrival to the home my friend was very unwell, life expectancy was short. Due to the fantastic care, support and expert knowledge of the staff she is now very stable. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff if approached for
advice or help. Meals are always prepared freshly by the onsite team whom endeavour to meet each individual's needs. I will go as far to say one of my other friends was struggling to look after her father. I strongly recommend that they approach the home. As a result, he's now a much loved and cared for resident as are all other residents. Excellent team of professionals with great communication skills .

Mum has severe dementia, unable to walk, talk coherently or carry out any tasks for herself. Living in fear and confusion and regularly having frightening hallucinations. No longer able to cope alone but feeling guilty about handing day to day support to strangers. We needed help.
Despite Mum being
very difficult to manage Eastholme Care Home offered to take her in, providing reassurance to both Mum and her family that she would receive the care, compassion and love that she deserves. Well ten months on and I can say that the Eastholme team are brilliant, they are part of our family now and we theirs, nothing is too much trouble and Mum is indeed receiving all the care, love and attention she needs. We are free to visit anytime and we are kept fully informed of any problems, changes or developments as they occur. The home is always very clean and tidy with no smells, Mum is treated with respect in a happy, calm environment. I can't thank them enough but I can highly recommend them!

As daughter of the resident i am happy with the care home, the staff are friendly and keep us well informed. Mum doesn't really want to be alive, this has been like this since her partner died 4yrs ago. She has good days and bad days, she is very Composmentis. She chooses to keep herself to herself.
