Overall I'm very pleased with the care my mum is getting and feel at ease she is in safe hands. Whilst mum is recovering from a broken ankle she has been well looked after and mostly at ease in her room.

It's important to us that she is well cared for and at ease each day. We will continue to look after her with kindness and support every day.

This was my first stay in a care home, while I was waiting for brain surgery to treat my condition. At the time, I was living with severe mobility problems, cognitive difficulties and incontinence. I was also frightened and overwhelmed. From the moment I arrived at Grosvenor Hall Care Home the team
made me feel genuinely welcome. Although my days were long and I was often confined to my bed, I never felt forgotten or alone. Staff came by regularly, not just to provide care, but to check on me, reassure me and offer comfort. Those small human moments meant more than they may realise. The team showed patience, kindness and dignity at all times even when my needs were complex and fluctuating. They treated me as a person not a condition. I am deeply grateful everyone at Grosvenor Hall for their compassion, professionalism and warmth during a very vulnerable time in my life. Their care made a difficult person far more bearable and I will always remember their kindness. Thank you.
Reply from Don Thomas, Manager at Grosvenor Hall Care HomeGood Morning , Thank you so much for your heartfelt words. We are truly honoured to have supported you during your time at Grosvenor Hall Care Home, and we wish you continued strength and good health for the future.

I just wanted to thank the Eastholme team for their support throughout my grandmother's short time with them, and their continued support following her death. It bought me and my brother a great deal of comfort knowing she was being looked after by people who showed her nothing but dignity, compassion
and respect, right till the very end. The team ensured my grandmother was beautifully prepared to rest and have showed us nothing but compassion and support during this difficult time. The team are an absolute credit to the care sector and I cannot thank them enough.

Since arriving at Eastholme care home in November 2025, my mum has received excellent care. She is totally bedridden and needs 24 hour Care from the Staff. They treat her with respect and kindness and listen to her even though her speech isn't recognisable. She is lovely and warm and clean and kept
as comfortable as possible. Her nursing needs and medication are being administered professionally and with Care. She has to be fed and the Staff patiently sit with her trying to get her to eat. She is constantly being checked on to make sure she is comfortable. They also take the time to speak to family and visitors, making them feel welcome and at home. I've previously encountered three nursing homes with my dad, but this one really shows it cares. I would definitely recommend this Care home because of the lovely Staff.

I came into the Grosvenor Hall Care Home to top up a stay at another care home - all arranged by community health services.
Before all this, I had spent time in hospital following a couple of strokes.
The initial transitional care was arranged because I needed to be looked after, as well as being
ill, my husband, Mick, had to go into hospital for a bowel cancer operation, so neither of us was available to care for the other. Thankfully provided excellent care in every way. Thank you.

My Mum (94) moved into Sandbeck House last month. The staff made the transition really easy and have looked after her. Mums health and wellbeing is better than is has been for the last years. She is eating better, looking better and more calm and happy than before. The staff are attentive and eager
to look after the residents.

I highly recommend Sandbeck House and the staff there.

Most of the carers are very good and treat clients with respect and attention. Sometimes there are delays in visiting clients when the staff are dealing with other clients. The catering is very good with choices at each meal and more than adequate is served. Rooms are very clean and kept tidy, en suites
in the rooms used to enable clients privacy in washing and personal visits to toilets. TV in rooms used by my relative.

My mum went to Sandbeck for rep site with a view to going home. But after one day of being at Sandbeck, we could see a difference. She was chattering away, member who we were and our names. After 2 weeks we could see a complete difference. Mum has vascular dementia, so her having interaction and proper
care she was a totally different woman. Myself and the family have decided that we would like mum to continue living at Sandbeck. The staff are brilliant.

I visit my wife 4 times a week. She has been on nursing care for 18 months. Her room is always clean and she is comfortable and content. She has dementia. Every time I visit I am greeted with genuine smiles by the staff. All of them. She could not be better cared or anywhere else.

It was my brother Peter's 79th birthday on 8 September. The staff at Sandbeck House arranged a marvellous afternoon Tea Party for him. Complete with a present, music and everyone singing Happy Birthday.

Chris and Gill were in charge of catering. They laid on a magnificent spread for the residents

and I was invited. The care staff made sure that anyone who could not join the party received a specially selected plate of goodies in their room.

There were drinks, sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche and other savoury snacks. Biscuits and small cakes galore.

The centre piece, made by Chris, was a white iced fondant Swiss Roll in the shape of a cigarette! Complete with orange filter and a lighted cake candle for Peter to blow out!

Peter really appreciated the care and attention to detail and said that he had not had a birthday party since he was 10 years old. It meant a lot to him and is a happy memory for both of us.

Thank you Sandbeck for making Peter's birthday a very special event

Mum moved into Eastholme following a fall and massive bleed on the brain that left her very confused and unsteady on her feet. She has been very well looked after by all staff at the home. They really care for their residents, spend time with them and make sure they are happy and feel loved.
The activity
programme allows residents to get out and about as well as taking part in a range arts and crafts. Residents can also meet four legged friends who come to visit as well as taking part in the occasional singalong!
Food is also good and the chef will go round in the morning to see what residents would like for lunch and dinner, which is thoughtful.
The staff at Eastholme have also been a massive support to us as a family, navigating this new normal. They are genuinely kind and have been there for us when events have been challenging - even inviting me to have Christmas lunch with mum.
Would recommend without hesitation.
