We are forever grateful to all the lovely staff on Elm unit .For the wonderful care they gave my mum over the four years she was with them. We could not have chosen a better place for her as we couldn't care for her at home.

The support everyone gave me and my family while she was with them to her passing , a big thank you to you all .

I visit my friend at least 3 times a week and I can honestly say this is such a good care home. I've found from domestics to management them all to be so lovely + welcoming always ready for a chat + to put your mind at ease. You can tell how much they all care. I wouldn't hesitate to put my family member in here this for me is how a care home should be!

The atmosphere is very pleasant, with changing displays of artwork to reflect special days. The reception staff are efficient and welcoming - and the care staff very cheerful and considerate. The place exudes a positive, caring attitude. It is apparent that the staff work extremely hard and the care home's success is due entirely to their efforts. It is sometimes difficult to gain admission as a visitor, because the staff are very busy elsewhere. It's very clean and I'm told the food is good!

My wife has Alzheimer's and has been a resident of The Beeches for 3 years. Her condition is now severe. The home is modern, clean and comfortable. The staff are professional, well trained and most importantly, kind and caring. There is a good programme of activities, although my wife can no longer appreciate or join in many of them. There is good use of technology in the home for record keeping and monitoring of the residents.

Mum was a resident at James Page from Sept 24 until her recent passing during which time she was show love, respect and given the utmost care for all her needs. I cannot thank the staff, management and volunteer carers for their dedication to the highest standards - they are a credit to their calling. Every step of the way we were consulted and informed and felt part of her ongoing care and final pathway with dignity show by all. Thanks to all and best wishes for the future.

Sadly mum passed, but the love and care she received at James Page went above and beyond what we expected. She was treated with respect and overwhelming kindness from everyone involved at the home, including the kind volunteers who give their time generously to make sure that residents are never alone. Her carers included our family in every aspect of mum's care, offering advice and guidance on how to make mum's stay with them as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. You are all truly angels and our family can not thank you enough.

Dad died on June 19th 2024 having spent four years in the care of the wonderful staff at The Beeches, Park Haven Trust. We never felt like Dad was in a home, we felt like he was at home and at last we were able to sleep soundly again at night knowing he was being well cared for. The staff became his extended family. Theirs is not an easy job but they did it with compassion, care and a sense of humour. He was so well cared for and it was so lovely to see him laughing with the team. They were quick to identify when he wasn't himself and ensure that they were proactive with his nursing care. They kept him well fed (very important to him!) and I am sure he was smuggled extra biscuits from the kitchen, charmer that he was. Thank you to everyone involved in his care. To those who prayed with us towards the end of his life, I'll be forever grateful that he came around enough to spend a short time awake with us right after your prayers. Thank you all.

James Page staff give outstanding care to the older generation. They respect residents' privacy and dignity. Plenty of space and appropriate equipment. Most of all the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this facility. Thank You.

I would like to pass on our sincere thanks to all the staff in James Page, Deyes Lane, I am speaking on behalf of all my family/friends who came to see our mother. The staff go the extra mile constantly making sure mum is comfortable at all times. We see this care given to all other residents within the care of James Page, Nothing is ever too much trouble, sometimes the staff have to have lots of patience. The crafts are great assets and singing during the day keeps the members happy and they enjoy the activities. I am always telling the staff about the care they give to everyone, it's 100 % constant. The rooms are kept clean and tidy, washing is taken away and returned, if they have names on, obviously this is easier for staff to return. The food is always to a high standard/presented to a standard that you would expect. We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff as they are brilliant and we can never thank you enough for the help/support our mum and we have received.

Review of The Beeches from Nicky T (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 September 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Back in April, I was rushed to the hospital with appendicitis, what should have been a half-hour simple operation turned into two operations 7 hours and three blood transfusions and 18 days in hospital. I am so lucky to still be here but the reason for this review is to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff at The Beeches who cared for my mum whilst I was unable to see her. Their kindness and concern for me too really touched me. Not being able to see my mum for so long was heartbreaking but not once did I worry about her as I knew she was being more than cared for. It’s at times like this that you see the importance of the right care home for your loved ones. Again in August knowing Mum was well loved and looked after we booked to go abroad having not been abroad for 7 years due to not wanting to leave Mum I now know (not that I didn’t already) that Mum would be fine and we needed this holiday too. So it’s with a huge thank you to each and every one of you for everything.

First impressions are always very good. The foyer is clean, inviting. There are no weird smells which you can find in other homes. All the staff are lovely, approachable, welcoming, including cleaners, catering staff as well as care staff... We especially like the way the lounge area is laid out in groups of seats rather than the chairs lined up against the walls which is a sight too often seen in other homes. The staff really show they care for the residents. The courtyard is a really nice outside space, well tended and clean.
My mother in law always looks clean well cared for. The staff are attentive to her needs. We couldn't wish for a more perfect, safe space for her to be.
For anyone looking for a nursing home for their loved one then look no further.

The only negative is the speed bumps haha. They are a nightmare.

Wonderful, The Beeches. Mum arrived at the unit as Covid struck, which prevented the family from visiting. Every effort was put into place to keep our mum and her new friends safe. The staff worked hard to make window visits easily accessible. It was easy to see the rapport she had built up with the staff. Mum always loved a hug and to get a hug and again we didn’t feel that she was missing out because we couldn’t do it.
The home itself is beautiful, clean and homely. The ratio of staff to residents is evident when you see how my mum always looked clean and well cared for.
I have no negative words to say about The Beeches and its wonderful staff.
When my mum was passing, our family virtually moved in. The staff held us up at the saddest time of our lives, they were amazing. And as a family, we will miss them and be forever grateful for the love and care they gave our mum until the end.

I know how hard it is looking for your loved one's forever home. The Beeches tick every box.

My mum has received amazing care, she was really poorly when she arrived now in April she is amazing and is so happy here. The staff are all so dedicated to the residents and it has really shown with 100% improvement since she has been there. Thank you to all of you.

I can't praise the manager and staff at the Beeches high enough. We as a family had an extremely difficult time placing Mum in another nursing home when we chose one. Unfortunately, Mum's experience and ours, was one we would never wish on anyone. When we came across The Beeches, straight away from the walk around to the manager visiting Mum in her old care home, it was apparent Parkhaven staff really understood what care Mum deserved and what we, as a family, needed too. I can honestly say, the weight lifted off our shoulders knowing Mum is safe, cared for and her and our best interests are always at the forefront of everything The Beeches do. For all the members of staff to know about Mum and how she is when we visit or just phone up, is so comforting. To feel the genuine care and to see Mum always looking clean and cared for, to know we don't have to be there morning, noon and night to make sure she's OK is worth more than anything. This is a place you can trust to look after your loved one.
