Such a wonderful care home, nothing to much trouble, it feels like he's being cared for as if they were his own family. Such a relief to find somewhere so wonderful and that spends the time, nothing is rushed

I had read the reviews of many places before having to make the hardest decision of my life to place my beloved husband in a home due to his deteriorating motor neurone disease and frontal temporal dementia. I couldn't have picked a better place for the comfort and facilities provided and the exceptional care of the Manager, Staff, Nurses, but also the reception staff and chefs. I have no qualms in recommending Marula Lodge. I was there every day for over 4 months so was able to observe the care first hand and in detail.

My husband's family came to visit him and they were made very welcome with tea and cake. They were very impressed by the care shown by the staff to the patients and the high standard of cleanliness of the residents and their surroundings.

My son was transferred from hospital in February. All staff have treated him with the utmost respect and have made this transfer much easier than I could have hoped for. He has been calm since his arrival and has been made to feel at ease, and able to ask for things that he wants and needs. Staff have treated him with respect and dignity. It has been lovely visiting him and seeing him, relaxed and happy. They have kept me informed of his progress.

My brother and I visited mum the day before her birthday as we couldn't make Monday which was her actual birthday. Gill and the rest of the team went out of their way to welcome us and make a fuss of mum (Sue) and ourselves for her birthday. Whenever we visit we see mum and the other residents are well cared for. We just turn up with no appointment and always receive the same great care. Any questions we have about mum or her care are answered with care and professionalism. Obviously we wish mum did not need this care (early onset of Alzheimer's) but the Pirbright Unit and team are great in their care for mum.

I would like to pay tribute to the outstanding kindness, patience, and respect shown to my mother and the other residents at Marula Lodge. The staff are exceptional, taking genuine pride in providing the highest standard of care with warmth, willingness, and a wonderfully relaxed, homely approach. We feel incredibly fortunate to have each and every one of them. They not only care for my mother, but they also make our whole family feel welcome and supported too. I cannot recommend Marula Lodge highly enough.

Marula Lodge is second to none with kind, specialised care. It's without a doubt the best care home my father has been in (4 all together). The Manager runs the home with pride and employs staff who truly care for the residents. It is the first place my father has been where I truly trust his care. The medical team have kept a close eye on his meds after he was given an incorrect cocktail of drugs in his last home. His health has improved beyond belief since being at Marula Lodge. We can't thank all the staff enough for their kindness and expertise. The relief is second to none. Thank you!

The team went above and beyond and made us feel more than welcome just can't sing their and the homes praises enough. Caught me and my sister in law off guard in a really posotive way. Over the moon my brother is here in their care

On my visit on 19/7/25 had a lovely visit, as I saw the staff working so hard, my auntie was so nicely dressed and well presented, looking so nice, the manager and the team worked so hard during my visit and gave me a cup of tea for my journey back to Bristol. Please keep up the great work that you're doing.

The staff at Marula Lodge are outstanding. They are extremly good at their jobs providing: care, patience, respect and kindness to all residence. My father has recieved the best care possible and I would have no hesitation in recommending Marula Lodge as an excellent care home.

Cant think of a better place for my brother to be looked after not one thing we would change. Staff are excellent so we always feel happy when we leave him there.

Since my husband has been here I cannot praise them enough. The staff are excellent. I feel when I am not there he is well looked after and so I have no worries when I leave him.

A lovely local place that takes care of mum. Staff are nice. Food is good.

So happy to see my brother back in his chair- last visit 3 weeks ago when he was confined to his bed he now seems to be much happier with some smiles and almost able to converse. All in all we are thankful to Marula team for their care and attention given to my brother.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming. The turnover of staff seems to be low, which means residents can familiarise themselves with the carers and staff.

Rooms are a reasonable size and are generally kept clean and tidy.

Staff are all very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. They are kind and gentle with my dad. My family and I all feel very relaxed in the knowledge that dad is reasonable content, well looked after and safe.

Overall I am very happy with Marula Lodge. My husband is very well cared for and is always clean and well dressed. The staff are very professional while being friendly and respectful to residents and visitors alike. My husband seems happy to be at Marula Lodge. The home has a welcoming and happy atmosphere. The new management has had a positive influence on the residents, staff and visitors.
